Make sure if you are using the latest version of the theme installed via FTP way, remove all of the untested plugins, clear all the caches, purge CDN files and check the results. This could be a plugin conflict so please disable all plugins except the page builder, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Please also check any custom code you might have added to the theme panel or the theme files. If you use a child theme, please switch to the main theme to make sure it does not affect the proper functionality of the theme.

As for putting an image for a category, there is no such option. The category template requires a background image, not a featured image. Please add a background image for your category.

Until now, notice that we do not have any bad reports in this case, sorry! Please try to make a new sub-domain for testing where you need to have installed only the theme and the required plugins, clear all the caches, purge CDN files and check the results. If you will use the latest version of the theme, you will have the latest version of this plugin which comes bundled with it.

After some investigations, I noticed that symbol comes from your Article Inline Ad section, as you can see here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/cRL0stI3HPsE Please check the code from that section in your theme panel and change it to another valid one, clear all the caches, purge CDN files and check the results.

First please make sure that this is not a plugin conflict, deactivate all non theme plugins, clear all cache and check to see if this is still happen.

Also please deactivate all non theme plugins, clear all cache and try again, is possible to have some plugins that use lazyload or may it is a plugin conflict.

Unfortunately, that plugin has not been tested with the theme and therefore, we cannot say for sure if it will work or not as expected with it, sorry! Could be a conflict of MCE editor with this plugin, sorry! Remove it, clear all the caches, purge CDN files and check the results.
