style.css and childtheme
Hi,
If you customized the socials in the child theme, then you might need to modify and adapt the customization. The socials have changed since the latest update, there were changes to the classes used as well.
Depending on what you want to do with them you will have to make modifications in the child theme customization. Use the inspector to identify what has changed regarding the socials
– https://www.screencast.com/t/FtVF9f6w8PE
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/create-custom-code-using-the-browsers-inspector/
Note that there are many styles available for the socials in the theme panel, you might not need modifications
– https://www.screencast.com/t/XlRvuvBl
The twitter button was removed from the theme, since it does not display a counter anymore for a while now.
Thanks
Hi,
The child theme is not related to the demos. It can be installed and used when you think it is necessary to use one. It is provided in the main theme package
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/whats-included/
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-child-theme-support-tutorial/
So use one only if you plan to make consistent modifications of the theme. Other than that you can use the custom code sections in the theme panel for minor customization.
Installing a demo will import the demo content, theme panel settings and custom demo design.
Thanks
Hi Bogdan,
it runns. Thank You.
How can I take that Funktion into the Child Theme?
And the Icons are visible if I klick on the +. Is it possible to make that allways open?
Thank You
Hello,
This usually happens when you change the theme name or the child theme name. Please restore the theme name to it’s original name.
Thank you!
Hello,
Please try this without the child theme and clear all caching beforehand.
Thank you!
Hello,
Please disable all plugins except the page builder, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Please also check any custom code you might have added to the theme panel or the theme files. If you use a child theme, please switch to the main theme to make sure it does not affect the proper functionality of the theme.
Thank you!
Hello,
I’m a little confused.
Can I use it immediate after install demo?
And Why I didn’t see the child theme folder in the host after install DEMO?
Look forward to your help.
:lol
Hello snowsbest,
Unfortunately, the mega menu option will grab All of the children in the main category. There is a code solution though if you are comfortable editing the theme files. Please read this topic: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/megamenu-exclude-2nd-level-subcategories/
Thanks for the message!
Hello Tagdiv Team,
some Problem, since Update to 8.6. The social Icons in the bottom of Posts appeare verry small and in monochrom blue. Edits in the Theme Panel have no influence and also I can´t erase some Icons. In use is an 7 Childtheme.
How can I change the Design of the Icons?
The Mobiletheme is OK.
Thank You.

Hi,
You could enter the code in a child theme stylesheet or directly in the theme stylesheet. There is no option to load the custom CSS in a different location, unless thorough code modifications maybe.
Thanks
Hello,
My site is using another language and does not use english. I have found in the following files:
./wp-content/themes/Newspaper/header.php
./wp-content/themes/Newspaper/mobile/header.php
!–[if IE 8]> <html class=”ie8″ lang=”en”> <![endif]–>
<!–[if IE 9]> <html class=”ie9″ lang=”en”> <![endif]–>
Other than manually hardcoding those files, is there another way? Child themes? Or could you give me a code that will fill in the value from wordpress settings (that is correctly set to the language I need)
Thank you
Hi, My developer needs the theme version 8.0 – we are customizing the child theme and the new theme is causing issues.
Is there a way you can please send that to me asap?
Hi. Is there a chance that in your Theme (Newspag or Newspaper) you will be able to easily implement support for filtering data in blocks on my custom taxonomies in child themes?
Hi,
I am looking to add two search forms in theme : Where search terms include custom taxonomy and Advance Custom Fields.
Just to specify i am looking to add datepicker in Form where my users are going to search post with date range vai ACF date fields.
QUERY:
=====
1. How would i add bootstrap css and js to child theme?
For this what i did yet
add_action( 'wp_enqueue_scripts', 'theme_enqueue_styles', 1001);
function theme_enqueue_styles() {
wp_enqueue_style( 'bootstrap_css', get_template_directory_uri() . '/bootstrap/css/bootstrap.css' );
wp_enqueue_style( 'bootstrap_css', get_template_directory_uri() . '/bootstrap/css/bootstrap-datepicker.css' );
wp_enqueue_style( 'bootstrap_css', get_template_directory_uri() . '/bootstrap/css/bootstrap-datepicker.min.css' );
wp_enqueue_style('td-theme', get_template_directory_uri() . '/style.css', '', TD_THEME_VERSION . 'c' , 'all' );
wp_enqueue_style('td-theme-child', get_stylesheet_directory_uri() . '/style.css', array('td-theme'), TD_THEME_VERSION . 'c', 'all' );
}
function theme_js() {
global $wp_scripts;
wp_enqueue_script( 'bootstrap_js', get_template_directory_uri() . '/bootstrap/js/jquery.min.js' );
wp_enqueue_script( 'bootstrap_js', get_template_directory_uri() . '/bootstrap/js/moment.min.js' );
wp_enqueue_script( 'bootstrap_js', get_template_directory_uri() . '/bootstrap/js/bootstrap.min.js' );
wp_enqueue_script( 'bootstrap_js', get_template_directory_uri() . '/bootstrap/js/bootstrap-datepicker.min.js' );
wp_enqueue_script( 'bootstrap_js', get_template_directory_uri() . '/bootstrap/js/bootstrap-datetimepicker.*js' );
}
add_action( 'wp_enqueue_scripts', 'theme_js');
But above code didn’t let me add datepicker or its not working !
2. Is there any way i could add custom search form in via td-api-plugin ?
So if i am able to create custom search form , how would i be able to custom created search template.
Please suggest.
Hello,
This could be a plugin conflict so please disable all plugins except the page builder, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Please also check any custom code you might have added to the theme panel or the theme files. If you use a child theme, please switch to the main theme to make sure it does not affect the proper functionality of the theme.

Hello,
Please remove any image optimization tools you might have on your site. Your images get resized but it’s not by the theme.

Hello,
Please switch to the main theme for testing purposes and see if the issue is still present. If it’s gone, you will have to re-create the child theme and make sure you do not rename the theme and child theme. The names must remain intact.
Thank you!
Hello Sirius Pro,
The code should have to be added in td_social_icons.php like this -> https://www.screencast.com/t/VSrCeh83rl8T For more information about child theme support, please check here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-child-theme-support-tutorial/ but please notice that files are not overwritten by child theme, sorry! This change should have to be made directly in the main code.
Thanks for the message!
I’m having the same issue. But the solution you posted is not working. I’m using child theme could that be the problem?
I just need to know where to put rel=„nofollow” in child theme and theme files.
Hi,
In many cases this issue has been caused by plugins, theme modifications, code entered in the theme panel, child theme or theme files directly.
But mostly plugins are responsible, some are interfering with the theme lazy-load causing the images to be invisible while still being loaded.
This should not happen, there is no issue in the theme itself by default
– https://www.screencast.com/t/BuIVZPaPaynO
– https://www.screencast.com/t/Qi7Tzxmk
Try deactivating the lazyload in the theme panel
– https://www.screencast.com/t/RMX2l7VUMIC
The check if the problem is solved.
Thanks
