I’m new to Newspaper too and have gotten no support so far, but I kept on trying. Like you, my site also broke and didn’t even load when I tried to activate an SSL certificate. It turned out to be a Cloudflare issue. I didn’t have plugin incompatibility issues, but backend incompatibility. It’s been an uphill battle for me as well.

I hope you will add a Style 1 template to your cloud templates. It’s a really obvious, useful, popular style to have, with its compact thumbnail image. That’s why it’s called Style 1!
I have created a blank template from the cloud library’s New Blank Single Template and retitled it. But when I hit save the save symbol circles but the green saved message never appears. When I hit close, the template closes and has saved any changes ok. But something is wrong – why no green saved message?

I understand that there is custom body class and other manual css ways to fix the problem.
But my point is if we have given options in cloud template settings (tagdiv composer) for background color, then it should work from there itself.
I am attaching image for your reference both images are representing same elements but with the default color is coming from theme style, while Tagdiv composer is modifying different css class for red color (#dd3333)
This installation I have setup on localhost so link is not available.
But if you want to replicate the issue, use Template 12 and try to modify the top header background color.
It is newspaper related, the only problem is with newspaper theme…the cloud library! You should foresee an option to transfer this over.
It is a wrong setup to put this in wp post table you should put it in a separate table.

I think that this is a plugin conflict between tagDiv Cloud Library and WPBakery, you can use only one of them, you should decide which one you want to use, we recommend to use the tagDiv Cloud Library with tagDiv Composer these are the theme plugins.
Please deactivate the WPBakery and check the results!

Usually the h1 is set on logo, if you are using a cloud header from tagDiv Cloud Library, you can have a different H1 per page/posts, another way is to using the Page Builder + Page Title on page template, this should set your page title as h1 and remove the h1 from logo.
If you want that your title to have the h1 set instead of logo, then please check if you are using a cloud header, if yes, then you can edit it with tagDiv Composer and disable the h1 -> http://prntscr.com/q1ohji from desktop and make sure that you do the same for mobile logo -> https://www.screencast.com/t/xVUjIMUelXA2 -> https://www.screencast.com/t/ABTw6DUnbMjH and the problem will be solved!

If you are using a pro demo, the footer is a cloud template, then you’ll need to edit it from a page, for example, you can edit the homepage, click on edit with tagDiv Composer -> https://i.imgur.com/uweNRrc.jpg after that go down to the footer end edit it how you want (now you can customize the the whole web-page from fronted).

Please note that if you are using a PRO demo you’ll need to edit it using tagDiv Composer becasue the settings from theme panell will affect only standard demos and templates. Pro demos were made using templates from tagDiv Cloud Library.

That is an ad, most probably an adsense, if you want to set the ad in sidebar too, then you need to check first if you are using a cloud template or a standard template for posts. If is a cloud template the ad need to be set with tagDiv Composer in ad box element, if is a standard template, the code can be set in a sidebar widget that is assigned to that post.

When I install Classic Editor it solves the problem for posts and pages, but I still can’t update Cloud templates.

Absent a simple Style 1 template in post cloud templates, I am trying Single Post Bg Featured Image – but the caption assigned in Media doesn’t appear. It can at least be sized to avoid the ridiculously large image of Single Post Featured Image, but it needs the caption. Can this be made to appear?
Single Post Featured Image has the caption but cannot be resized (let alone integrated as cut-in to the text like the sensible Style 1).
When will Newspaper offer a Style 1 cloud template or the features above? At the moment I am spending hours on laborious workarounds to try to get close to Style 1. The limitations of cloud templates seem enormous.

You can use tagDiv Composer and add the icon element ->https://i.imgur.com/wSvYyhX.png -> https://tagdiv.com/tagdiv-composer-page-builder-basics/this should work, just make sure that you do not have a plugin conflict, please deactivate ALL plugins except tagDiv Composer, also if you are using child theme or cache plugin, deactivate them, clear all cache and try again.
2. The popular post sorting requires this option to be active in the theme panel

3. Unfortunately, there is no Archive plugin tested with our theme and therefore, we cannot say for sure if it will work or not as expected with the theme, sorry! Also, we cannot provide support for untested plugins.

Please note that the post content need to be translate in each language you have in order to be display, the same is with the cloud template, you need to have one for each language.
