If disabling all plugins except visual composer didn’t work, please check the max_input_vars value in system status section: http://screencast.com/t/V8MumQISR and make sure that it’s set above 2000. Contact your host provider and let him know about this if you can’t access php.ini file.

2. Try to re-save the permalinks from Settings > Permalinks and also disable all your plugins except of Visual Composer, clear cache. Maybe it is caused by a plugin that you use. Do you use a redirect plugin?

The latest version of visual composer was not tested with version 4 of our theme (it did not exist back then). If you want to use the latest version of visual composer, you have to update your theme to the latest version (6.5.1) as well. And only install the visual composer plugin that comes with the theme.
With newspaper 4 please use the plugin version that comes with your theme files.

When you add an element in visual composer, the settings for that element will pop up. That is a block 18 I placed on my end. If you somehow close this box you can access it by pressing the little pen icon when you hover on that particular block: http://screencast.com/t/lb4uhyW9Yb Then you have the 4 tabs on top general, filter, ajax and pagination. After updating the theme and Visual Composer to 4.7.4 I get an unusual deprecated Visual Composer message and collection of icons at the base of every article and page. I am also prevented from editing or adding any block.
My page building has completely stopped. This does not seem to effect the front end performance or structure.
I upgraded the theme via FTP as the envato updater has not been working for some time. I deleted visual composer then added via FTP. The site is: http://coconutoilpost.com/ Can you please advise on how to restore the Visual Composer functionality?
I currently have a sub domain for testing a new version and it has no issues after the update with the same plugins. I have also tested all the plugins on both sites which did not resolve the issue. I have also deactivated and deleted then reinstalled and activated the plugin but still the bug persists?

1) Make sure you check all these options in the panel: http://screencast.com/t/n6nQwEkug and regenerate your thumbails using ‘force regenerate’ plugin. You can also use a thumbnail upscale plugin if your images are too small.

The plugin you installed is not needed as the theme already handles image thumbnails. The plugin overrides this option and may cause a conflict. I did tried various online minification tools to minify the Newspaper theme CSS and Visual composer CSS.
When i try to minify the CSS files using online minifier tool, browser getting crashed. Will you please suggest me the better way to minify CSS files without any issues?

Regarding the demo error import, this also can happened because the server security module blocks the access to admin-ajax.php file. When this it’s requested many times it’s treated as threat so it’s banned. You can report false positives to your server administrator to remove it from the banned list.
Note that some host may restrict the access at content provided from external sources, so you can check in cpanel if there are any options regarding this or contact your host provider and let him know about this.

Using Visual Composer pagebuilder, you can create/add buttons only for page content.
If you want to add it next to the header ad, you will have to edit the code:

So you cannot achieve this only if you alter the code and use the shortcode directly there and some css for positioning.

The camel image, as other images on the theme demo, are not included in the package. You will have other sample images as we can only sell WP themes, not images. If you want to add an image on a page like the travel demo, you can by adding an image to a row in visual composer. Hi Chris, Ok I can try that out. I forgot to mention that I am using Newspaper 4.1, is last JS composer compatible with it or I need to update to Newspaper 6. Because I use a child theme I am not sure updating to 6 will cause problems.

JS composer v4.7.4 provided in your last theme’s update totally broke the layout of my site. I needed to reverse to JS composer v4.2.3, the one I was using so far, to fix the problem. I use a child theme. I understand I need to update for security reasons so how can I resolve this?
Try turning off your other plugins besides visual composer, clear any caching on site and in web browser, try again. I find main issue with saving sidebars is with IE11/Win7-64; and have to switch to Chrome.

b) download the “all files” for Newspaper, extract to the “Newspaper-tf” folder
c) in the /plugins folder note the file “js_composer”
d) extract the zip
e) in the ‘js_composer’ plugin folder, note the file “changes.txt”

I’ve upgraded to the newest version of Newspaper and the “About”-Section of Visual Composer says version 4.7.1 – which seems to have the security issues addressed in the email by Envato. I tend to follow instructions of Envato to take the upgrade to version 4.7.4 but it would be nice to hear directly from Tagdiv if we all should do so or not.

Is the latest version of the theme bundled visual composer 4.7.1.1 from the October 6th email? The change log for 4.7.1.1 doesn’t seem to mention addressing security vulnerabilities.
You should have gotten email already showing the update which was posted last week; do a download of all files from your account for theme; open on your PC/Mac; in the plugins open the js-composer plugin and look at the changelog/version info to see it’s been updated to a secure version.
