hi guys and thanks in advance for your great work.
I got this mail from enbato
We are getting in touch to let you know about multiple XSS security vulnerabilities in the Visual Composer WordPress plugin versions prior to 4.7.4 (releases prior to October 2, 2015). This plugin was included in items you’ve purchased (listed below).
We have been working with WP Bakery, the creators of Visual Composer, who have addressed all identified vulnerabilities and undertaken a code audit to ensure that it is as secure as possible. Theme authors whose items include Visual Composer have been instructed to make sure their items accommodate this upgrade. Items that include older versions of Visual Composer will be disabled from the market until this change is made.
Affected Items
Your items that include Visual Composer:
What You Should Do
In order to secure your item from these vulnerabilities we strongly encourage you to update to version 4.7.4 or later as soon as possible. We recommend you take the following steps to secure your sites immediately, after first backing up your WordPress site.
Visual Composer Plugin Update Steps
Log in to codecanyon.net and proceed to download the latest version of Visual Composer to your computer from this URL: http://codecanyon.net/item/visual-composer-page-builder-for-wordpress/242431
Locate and unzip the downloaded plugin file.
Connect to your server using an FTP client and upload the js_composer directory (from the downloaded zip file) to the wp-content/plugins/ directory. (Note: This will overwrite the old Visual Composer files with the secure versions.)
Log into WordPress and navigate to the Plugins page to confirm the Visual Composer plugin is version 4.7.4
The link to the latest version, provided above, will be live for 3 weeks from the time this email was sent. After this period, you will need to access the latest version via your theme zip file.
Please note: This replaces the existing plugin under the licensing of the theme(s) you’ve purchased and is only licensed for use in these themes.
Your Security is Our Priority
We take security seriously at Envato. When we receive security vulnerability reports for items sold on our marketplaces, we work as quickly as possible to validate the report, investigate risk and determine the best course of action for the security of our community.
On behalf of the plugin creator and Envato, we’d like to apologize for this inconvenience and assure you that security is and always will be our priority.
Regards,
The Envato Team
when will the theme be updated? do we need to update? should be wait for you?
Thanks in advance!

Hi there! I´m having a problem with Visual Composer. I can create new pages, but when I attemp to edit it, some rows are hidden, and the “+” button to add new rows isn´t there. How can i fix it? I’m using VC Version 4.3.4 and a child theme of Newspaper 4.6…

Hi,
I’m using Newspaper 4 with block 2, but I think after I just updated Visual Composer Plugin as per directions of Envato, the blocks have the wrong size now.
See http://rekkerd.org
There are 4 blocks that should line out wide but now they are small.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Ronnie
Hello,
I was wondering if there was any way to put facebook, google+, pinterest and twitter social share buttons at the bottom of a page I created on my website http://www.livelovefruit.com. It is a retreat page, so I want people to share the page if they want on social media. I don’t see an option for any social share buttons with visual composer, and there seems to be no option for adding plugins in there either.
Best,
Carly
Hello,
May i know how i can add on my home in the right side widget the optin cat optin plugin ?
Thx you
Is that possible? If not feature request for option to disable Visual Composer plugin.
Best way is to make a new row in your homepage layout in visual composer and add the text there. Does not need to be at top of page, can be anywhere on page — such as bottom of page as a description of what your site is all about. H1 tags are an HTML tag and must be part of visible text, not in the META data.

Hi
Please make sure that you installed the VC plugin according with our documentation: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/ also try to deactivate all plugins again, clear all caches purge the cdn file, if you’re using and test again.
Let us know how it goes and if the problem persist send an email at contact@tagdiv.com with your site’s login details so we can inspect this issue closer.
Thanks!
Hi guys,
I am trying to edit pages and posts with visual composer, but when i try to edit a text block, it doesn’t work. The content itself doesn’t show up, and all I can do is hit ‘close’ or ‘save changes’, as shown.

I assume that there is a conflict somewhere but I can’t find it so far. I have done the usual uninstall/re-install, deactivate all plugins and reactivate them one-by-one, etc. I am running the latest version of VC from this week’s Newsmag update (2.2.1)
Hi
Please make sure that you updated the plugin according with our documentation: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/ also clear all caches, deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer and test again.
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks!
Hi
Please make sure that you updated the theme according with our documentation: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ also you need to update the plugins included in the Newspaper-tf/plugins, deactivate and delete the old versions, then install the new versions of each plugin that you need from the indicated path. You can read more about the update process for Visual Composer plugin: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
Thanks!
Hi
You must have post views enabled from Theme Panel > Post Settings – http://screencast.com/t/JqH3jwFX6xA then you can test it by editing a post and take a look at custom fields: http://screencast.com/t/mSiJvu61tGj then refresh the post a few times and check if it increments. If those values are changed when the post is viewed then 7 day sort should work properly and the post should appear to your block.
Please check this without any plugins active except of Visual Composer, clear cache and see if you still have this issue.
Let me know how it goes!
Thanks!
when install js_composer.zip on theme Newsmag my website can not open
Hi
I’ve checked your site on iPod and the content seams to be displayed fine now: http://screencast.com/t/L32f62Vb – http://screencast.com/t/mMpjGDMBF If you still have this issue try to clear the iPad/iPhone cache memory, deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer and test again. If the problem persist please provide a screenshot and a specific link so I can inspect it closer.
Thanks!
Hello Rolf,
Unfortunately, there is no migration option and old elements will not work when Visual Composer removes them. The deprecated ones will still be present for a while, but VC team are not sure when they will remove them.
The best thing you can do is start using the new element and replacing the old ones.
In our latest theme updated (6.5.1) we included the new version of visual composer that contains the new elements as well. They have the same name as the old ones, but if you look at the shortcodes, they are different: http://screencast.com/t/wptRa0Wq
I hope this helps
Thank you!
Hi
I’ve checked your site and noticed that the server response time when the index file is delivered is almost 9s: http://screencast.com/t/0yFoOW4Dz that’s why appear that delay until the page is loaded. Check in error log if there are any error related to this issue, also try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer and test again.
Let me know how it goes.
Thanks!
Hello Thomas,
This error usually occurs when you have some raw HTML on the post/page or custom CSS and tags are not closed properly. Please check your code if this is the case.
You can also disable all your plugins except visual composer and check again to see if this is not a plugin issue.
Let us know how it goes.
Thank you!
Hello Julien,
Please make sure you use the latest version of the theme and the latest version of the social counter
https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
If you already use the latest version, please make sure the correct social id is typed in the social counter settings: http://screencast.com/t/PTNnG6afCxI
You can also try to insert a different ID to see if followers are pulled. (for example ‘cocacola’)
Your Facebook and Twitter pages need to be public. If they are not, the plugin won’t be able to access your followers.
If all these conditions are met, you can try one more thing. Disable all your plugins except visual composer and see if it’s not a conflicting plugin that causes the issue.
Let us know how it goes
Thanks.
Hi
Try to deactivate the Speed Booster plugin then check in browser console if the errors still appear. First try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear all caches and test again.
If the errors appear only when Speed Booster is activated, that happens because some plugins cause conflicts when their’s resources are moved to footer. You can check a plugin behavior with Speed Booster enabled by adding it on allowed plugins list: http://screencast.com/t/dCMffJFq or by moving its css/js resources at page bottom: http://screencast.com/t/P7r6uHvvJl
For more information regarding Speed Booster please check this topic: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/speed-booster-questions/
Hope this help.
Thanks!
Perhaps try turning off all other plugins except Visual Composer; clearing all your cache; check page in console for JS errors. Check Disqus twitter account to see if service outage, etc.
If comments not showing *in* your Disqus account itself, then there is problem with plugin conflict.
If comments are showing *in* your Disqus admin account, but NOT on your post pages, either plugin conflict, or connection issue, caching/ajax issue or similar.
Also double check the wordpress.org support page for any known timeouts/bugs/conflicts with other things.
None of that might apply to you — just some normal debug food for thought. Damn WordPress gremlins!!!! 🙂
Hi
before doing auto-updates, good idea to download and review the changelog. For the latest update, for example, the only thing that changed was update to visual composer for a security patch and so you didn’t need to update the “whole theme,” and just update the plugin.
Manual install is still always “safest” way to go as the Envato thing sometimes just simply does not work and I totally abandoned even trying to use it, for exactly the issue you are now facing!
Just an opinion, food for thought.
