Hello,
The author page can be created following this tutorial: https://forum.tagdiv.com/author-card/
example: http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/author/admin/
If you plan on using the css code above only for a particular page you can add the page it as a class in front of the code so it will apply only to the specific page. You can see the page id like so:

.page-id-148 .td_top_authors .td_mod_wrap {
min-height: 256px;
padding-left: 185px;}
.td_top_authors img{
max-width:100%;
width:256px;
}

I hope this helps.
Thank you!

Hello,

The style.css will only change the theme version number. The actual fix is in td_page_generator.php, tagdiv_theme.js and tagdiv_theme.min.js
If you replace your files with these new ones from the latest update, it should work if other modifications do not interfere with the code.
Basically you can keep your style.css and replace all other files and it should work.
Make sure you do a back-up beforehand.

Thank you!

This is what helped my site become as fast as possible even hitting up to 85+ on Pagespeed.

Very simple.

Did you directly modify the theme files without the use of a child theme?. In my case I manually modified the theme’s style.css, so when I update the theme, I simply go back and minify the css file over again.

So the simplest means to update the theme and not lose your designs and settings or modifications is to simply change the theme to maybe a default one, then delete the Newspaper theme and install the theme directly in the Appearance>theme>add theme . Don’t sweat it, your settings are not lost.

Or you simply update it via FTP. Tagdiv have a nice tutorial to help you out. https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/

Have a wonderful day.

Hello,
The smart sidebar does not support a background color from visual composer as the container changes when it starts to stick. You can add a background color using css just to the container that moves, but it will be without the padding: http://screencast.com/t/aCLsGjtMez

Hello,
If you do a quick search through our forum you will see lots of topics regarding ssl.
Maybe this will help you: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/moving-to-ssl/
here is a search example: https://forum.tagdiv.com/search/ssl/
Unfortunately there is no setting in the theme for ssl. It will have to be custom made.
Maybe these will help as well: http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-add-ssl-and-https-in-wordpress/

Hello,

The theme offers a fade in effect for it’s big grid elements from the lazyload animation as can be seen on our demo here: http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/ if you want to implement another type of fade effect you can use css: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/11679567/using-css-for-fade-in-effect-on-page-load
or a javascript code the one you suggested. Unfortunately we did not test any of this on amazon book images and i’m not sure how they are implemented. In any case, this is a custom job and it falls beyond what support can offer you. If you cannot adapt the code to your case, you will probably want to hire a freelancer to help out.

Thank you!

Hello, I tried to upgrade recently which failed so I went back down to my current News Mag install. I tried to make some changes in the Theme Panel area and noticed that everything was now grey. Not a big deal, but when I would try and make changes, the save button no longer appeared. I also went into Custom CSS and Java area which is now blank (still showing the side bar but the actual editing area is gone).

Is there a way to fix this without loosing what I have done with the theme?

Hi Bogdan! Same problem here.

I know that re-installing the theme will fix it, but I have a question:
I made a lot of changes to the style.css file. Is there any way to solve the problem without replacing style.css file?

Thank you very much!!!

simchris

Best way is to edit the style.css file to set your custom font manually, then put the font loader info at bottom of the file.

Unless there is a separate font file which might conflict with that in the latest theme versions.

TagDiv may have much better answer.

But that’s how I over rode our site to run “all OpenSans”

Hi there,

I can’t seem to add fadeIn effect to my page with Amazon book image links. I tried the following method:

Custom CSS:
.hideme {
opacity: 0;
}

Custom Javascript:
$(document).ready(function() {

/* Every time the window is scrolled … */
$(window).scroll( function(){

/* Check the location of each desired element */
$(‘.hideme’).each( function(i){

var bottom_of_object = $(this).offset().top + $(this).outerHeight();
var bottom_of_window = $(window).scrollTop() + $(window).height();

/* If the object is completely visible in the window, fade it it */
if( bottom_of_window > bottom_of_object ){

$(this).animate({‘opacity’:’1′},500);

}

});

});

});

Any help would be greatly appreciated !

Hello,

Header style 11 uses a header ad under the logo. If you mean to reduce the space between the ad and the content, you can use this css:
.td-main-page-wrap {
padding-top: 20px;
}
.td-crumb-container .entry-crumbs{
padding-top: 2px!important;
padding-bottom: 2px!important;
}

If this code does not work as expected, please provide a link to your website so we can inspect it.

For the ad, in order to move it below the title you can edit the file for the template like so: http://screencast.com/t/hLTGjb8lOW

Hello,

You can remove the border from the table elements by using this css:

table td{
border:none!important;
}

(Further customization to these ‘magazines’ can only be done through the iframe but that does not come from the theme)

Thank you!

Hello,

The new update fixed some issues caused by wordpress 4.4. If you updated wordpress you will need this update for the category pages. Pagination broke on wp 4.4
The main files that were changed in the current version are:

td_page_generator.php
tagdiv_theme.js
tagdiv_theme.min.js
style.css

Unfortunately the app is not tested with our theme so we cannot guarantee it’s functionality.

Thank you!

Hello Bernd,

1) Please use this custom css to adjust the menu:
.td-full-layout .td-header-style-3 .td-header-main-menu{
padding-left:0!important
}

2) Unfortunately for header styles that use the logo besides the header ad, you cannot increase the size of the logo too much because the ad will then not have enough space to fit in the container and this will happen: http://screencast.com/t/JYhz6YeaKGG
You can change the width like so:
.td-header-style-3 .td-header-sp-logo {
width: 284px;

3)You can use this custom css:
.td-big-grid-post .entry-title a{
color:red;
}

I hope this helps.
Thank you!

Hello,

Unfortunately changing the width of the sidebar or the main content will cause problems as our theme was built on a fixed width and a grid view. Every element depends on this to display properly.
You can try it to see how it works by using this code:

@media
(max-width: 767px){
.td-main-sidebar{
width:50%!important
}
}

As for the theme width for the mobile version, you will have to change quite a few parts of the style.css to make the theme activate the mobile theme on a different scrren size than 767px. Do a quick search through the style.css and search for 767 and see how many entries there are.(http://screencast.com/t/Nvc2O9O5ml) All of these will have to be adjusted to the new screen size if you truly need this customization.

Thank you!

Hello,

If the files were replaced, then you already have the fixes from the new version. Your theme version did not change ‘by number’ because you need to replace style.css for the theme to display the new theme version. (forgot to mention that. Sorry! No changes were made in the style.css except for the theme version)

Thank you!

Hello,
This usually comes from a plugin conflict or css minification. Please disable all your plugins except visual composer and check for the error again. (same thing here: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/text-not-showing-in-slider-and-typeerror-f-is-undefined-in-firebug)
Also clear cache and cdn if you use it.
Let us know how it goes.
