Old fashioned – Getting rid of the hand - topic

Hi,

I’m using Newspaper “Old Fashioned”.

Is there any CSS or similar I can use to get rid of the hand (pointing finger) that comes up next to all titles, as I don’t like this element of the design?

I have created a “child theme” with CSS file.

Any Cloud template can be fully customized using the tagDiv Composer. You can use custom css in theme panel too without having the child theme.

Where to change spaces in Header Elements - reply

There are a few option for some elements in General section -> http://prntscr.com/pcqcsp but for the most of them, the css tub will do the trick for adjusting the space -> http://prntscr.com/pcqd4u

Remove Footer And Sidebar From TagDiv Composer Page - reply

Hello,

Unfortunately the footer can be remove only with custom css, if you want to do this just send me a link with the page that you do not want to have a footer and I’ll provide the code to remove the footer section on that page.

Also the sidebar in pages made with tagDiv Composer can be set with this builder, also the page template can have a sidebar -> http://prntscr.com/pcq2yt , what You can do is to change the page template or set on no sidebar.

Hi,

just found out what was taking my server threw hell… it’s the search form that send a post on every letter tipped !!!

please, please add lodash debounce on this

added to the fact that call is done via POST makes it hell to cache it!
and it really deserves caching !!

so changing it to a GET so cdn can cache it would be marvelous!

I understand the advantage of using templates for theme updates, but I am not quite sure about the disadvantages.

1) How can I create a template from a page that I have created? Not coming from a pre-designd template.
2) The advantage of custom CSS in a child theme is that I can adjust, for example colors or fonts for all uses on the website. So, when I edit colors/fonts in my saved custom page template, will that also be shown on all pages that use that template?

Hello!
I am trying to make a new Header and have trouble adjusting the distances above and below elements. I am using a picture as a banner and a menu underneath. Only the distance of banner and menu/search bar is to far. Do I adjust that in the CSS section of the Element editing section? Using it results in inconsistent results in the live preview and I fear to mess things up elsewhere.
Pls advide me if this is the correct place or if I need to do something else? Maybe a “higher” place where to change those distances, because also the default distance of a “title” Element and a “list” element below is too far (about same amount). So is there someplace where I can set something like “distance of elements stacked on top of each other”?

Hello,

1. If this is a link in h2 -> http://prntscr.com/pbmcna then the coloer from theme panel for h2 will not apply, you’ll need to color it manually, by selecting the text and set text color -> http://prntscr.com/pbmdyl or using custom css, if is an H2 without link this setting should apply -> http://prntscr.com/pbmf5e

2. If you want to set text with tagDiv Composer you’ll need to set it in column text element or in text with title -> http://prntscr.com/p3szcc -> http://prntscr.com/p3szlo -> http://prntscr.com/p5l2bx -> http://prntscr.com/p5l2jt -> http://prntscr.com/p5l2q7

Please notice that the tagDiv Composer is a builder for pages and templates only, not for post, only for post templates, so if you want you can use it on a single post template from tagDiv Cloud Library .

Hello,

I think that you are referring to h2 from theme panel -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/theme-colors-introduction/ , if this is not apply, then on that h2 title is set a stronger css, usually this is an individual settings set with tagDiv Composer.

If this is not what you mean, please provide some more details and some screenshots.

Update to 9.8 breaks layout - topic

I followed the tagdiv tutorial for ftp update of the newspaper theme from 9.2 to 9.8 (latest). I successfully updated the theme and any relevant plugins that needed updating afterwards.

I am using a child theme.

After the update, the layout fully broke across the entire site. All css was still being applied for styles but the layout broke. Anything that was multiple columns broke to just one column. This included header, footer and all content.

I reverted and tried again by rebuilding the child theme using the included child theme in the update but no change, still broken. I disabled all plugins except tagdiv’s. I also used the parent theme and layout was fixed. Changed back to child theme and the layout broke again. Any ideas on what could be happening?

Hello,

I am using newspaper_journal as my home page and for the single post as well.

I wish to know if we have an option to change the background colour other than editing the CSS Directly.

Now, the body gets .td-journal and below style to this class.

background-color: #f4f7fc;
}
