Hi, just purchased the theme a few days back. Great work guys.
Although I’m facing some issues with theme.
1. I want to display a category and it’s sub-categories ‘only’ in a block (Block 1), how do I do that? Because in the filter section, even if I’m trying to filter the blogs with IDs, still all the available categories(which have blogs) are being displayed in the header section of the block. I only want a single parent category and their sub categories in the header section of the block. How do I do that?
2. I installed the default newspaper theme demo. On the landing page of this demo, I removed some of the sections of the page that I didn’t want. But, for some reason, I’m not able to remove the “LATEST ARTICLES” section which comes towards the bottom part of the landing page. How do I remove this section as I do not want it on my blog page.

I have noticed there’s a problem with how the Newspaper theme handles the canonical tag in the home page, and this is affecting how the site gets indexed in a negative way. The theme generates the canonical tag perfectly for categories and tags paginations, but for some reason, it does not work for the home page.
For example, this is how it works with the tags and categories paginations, where it works perfectly:
<link rel=”canonical” href=”https://pagexample.com/page/3/” />
<link rel=”prev” href=”https://pagexample.com/page/2/” />
<link rel=”next” href=”https://pagexample.com/page/4/” />
As you can see, it generates the rel=”prev” and rel=”next” tags.
But when we check paginations for the home page, those two tags don’t get generated, it only generates this tag:
<link rel=”canonical” href=”https://homepage.com/page/3/” />
So as we can see the rel=”prev” and rel=”next” tags are missing.
The problem this is causing is that those paginations are being treated as a completely single page because those two tags are missing. This causes Google to rank those pagination above the main home page in a a lot of cases, and causing other abnormal indexations. I have checked many themes and noticed the Newspaper and Newsmag themes appear to be the only themes with this inconvenience.

So my question is, is there any suggestion you can give me to fix this problem? I searched this forums and saw others having the same problem but a fixed was never provided.

Yes this is possible, but you’ll need to make some more settings in order to get that ( because you say that you do not want to change the current demo ), you’ll need to make one template for each settings ( post / page/ authors /categories … )
If you wan you can make some tests on localhost/ were you can also install a demo and inspect how this is made.

I have no access to the tagDiv Composer. I see in all the videos and demos that there is a tab at the top of your screen on the front side to open it up. I have no such tab “Edit with TD Composter”.
I wish there was regular support for this theme so I could send screenshots and to give dev access to the WP, like most other themes I work with, rather than just a forum.

There should be no such space, the header logo should be from top bar to main menu, no extra space above or below the image. Just like this theme demo which uses header style 10

Maybe check with the browser inspector, right click the respective spaces and click inspect. Could be some indication where that padding or margin space comes from.
To the left and right it would depend on the size of the image, the image will be displayed as it is. So a small image on a large display for example, will not be stretched to be full width.

Unfortunately, the theme does not have any such an option for this, sorry! If you want to achieve something like this, you should do it yourself through the code adding this functionality or also, check and edit the demo file corresponding on this demo. Also, if you are not aware of the steps which are needed to take in this case, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because we cannot provide custom work at the moment, sorry!

When a smart list is created in a post, the article ads will not be loaded. Meaning top ad, inline ad and bottom ad.
Some smart list styles have a dedicated ad spot in the theme panel

For example styles 6 and 7 display the ad like this

Using smart list style 1 or 2, the only way to display an ad after the smart list, would be to maybe enter the ad code directly in the post content after the end smart list shortcode (if using predefined post templates).

On Newspaper gadgets demo theme, we can find a colour shadow over the images in the home page (first grid). How can I also add clour layer over the images for the homepage on Big Grid 1?

The heading h3 is set in our theme for titles, and that demo (that you give for example) have on homepage 135 of titles and that is way appear 270 h3 ( there are 135 headings)
