El problema del servidor que me comentabas puede que si afectara, ya que lo tenía bajo mínimos, aquí te muestro como lo tengo ahora:

Antes en “Número máximo de procesos simultáneos” lo tenía en 80 y en “Memoria utilizada” 150megas, lo he subido a 1 giga y medio.
Voy a esperar unos 20 minutos que demora en configurarse el servidor, ya que es uno gestionado de 1and1 y te cuento que tal va ok.

If the server doesn’t allow external connections or has some restrictions for it the theme demo install system returns an error like the one you encountered. It could be due to a delay or it could also be a temporary issue so you can try this a few times and if you still get this error contact your host provider and let him know about this. Another cause may be the traffic, each operation has a time limit, at certain hours the traffic may be high and while the theme tries to download the images the operation exceeds the allocated time and a 404 or timeout error may be returned.
Please make sure that you have permission for upload folder, you can follow this tutorial in case you need to change the permissions: https://codex.wordpress.org/Changing_File_Permissions (changing permissions to 777 fixed the issue for most users)
It could also happen due to your wp install or other plugins might also cause this so you could also test this on a fresh wp install and let us know if you still get the same result.

Thanks for the response, but saying that your demo is not infected yet does not mean it cannot be infected. I have done nothing but automatically update to your latest version and WP got in this state.

We have tested the theme security rigorously before releasing and also it was tested and analyzed by Envato reviewers and if would have any security issues would not pass their reviews.

Try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear all caches and test again. I think the problem isn’t the plugin, I have one demo site not commercial for testing and it’s works fine, but in the commercial site don’t work. Both in 6.3.3 version theme and plugins package. The plugin crash 1 week ago without any change on theme or plugins.

We encountered this error before but unfortunately it can be a number of things. We have not yet found an exact cause of this error, but generally it is related to server and wordpress configuration.
Please verify that you have upload permissions on your server and also if you have restrictions for external sources.
Please contact your hosting provider and check these configurations.
It could also have been a temporary issue due to high traffic.
Try to install the demo again after checking with your host and if the problem is still there and all permissions and restrictions are ok, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com with your login information so we can take a look for ourselves. Please also include a link to this topic.

The theme code was tested and optimized for best performance, we have a lot of clients and the theme works well on a large variety of hosts.
First please make sure that you use the recommended server configuration for Newsmag theme, you can check our documentation for more details: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-requirements-for-newsmag/
There are lots of factors that influence the site’s page-sped. I suggest you first try this without any other plugins active, leave just VC plugin active the check again.
To improve your server response time you can try to reduce the number of queries (fewer plugins, fewer blocks on page, reduce the elements which use ajax requests/pagination like mega menus/load more/infinite load), also consider using a cache plugin, we recommend the WP super cache plugin with the following configuration: https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/ To improve the loading speed look the mysql query cache: http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.1/en/query-cache.html we also use it on our demo.
Also you can use the speed booster to move the js and css at the bottom of the page, eliminate render-blocking, but not for all plugins. Check the System Status if the speed booster is active if you use other plugins than the tested ones. Thank you so much for your reply and helpful pictures. I did exactly as described(created a subcategory). For some reason, the menu is not updating.
For the record, I’ve built my website off of a demo and right now if I go to the menu panel I see Lifestyle (parent category which has a new sub Card) has “custom link” and not a category on the mega menu. Could that be a reason why?

Hello,
The category tags on modules/blocks cannot be colored from the theme panel. This was a design choice to avoid too many colors on the front page. It can be done with css as Alin suggested above:

Alternatively you can select block color to differentiate a specific category by color as our home page is set up: http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/ same block type, different category, different color. You can do this from block settings in visual composer. You can also use the ajax filter to select sub-categories to display
