This is a great thread. Just so I’m clear on the future of the theme and Tagdiv’s vision for us.

I had a page created in VC. After updating to version 8, I just created a new page and recreated the page using TDC. I then went into the editor and copied the code and went back into the origional page. I then deleted the code created from VC and pasted in the TDC code and in many cases it was much less code. (assuming why this is a faster solution??)

From here I resaved the page so not to break any Google juice.

Am I correct in thinking this might be the optimal solution for all of us moving forward?

At some point, is it my understanding that you want us to completely delete the VC plugin and have all of our pages on the TDC system?

Thank you for clarifying.

I tried to put a single image on this page and for whatever reason, it’s expanding, but not getting smaller when viewed on a phone. Could anyone give me some help with this banner image?

http://www.teachercast.net/educational-podcasting-today/ .

Also, can you address anything about the AMP project and if it will be coming to Newspaper?

You should use one *or* the other, not both.

Tagdiv Composer is a lighter weight version page builder which is more secure than VC, doesn’t need activation from WPBakery for support, and is much faster with smaller footprint. But not a 1:1 replacement either.

it’s there as option for those who don’t like VC, or where there are resource problems with hosting account, or who don’t need all the bells and wistles VC has which many peeps never use.

I think they have a comparison for it someplace …

Hi,

I have inspected your website and it seems to be loading properly at the moment. There are no ridiculous loading times from what I can see. You can try this speed optimization guide to improve loading speed
https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/
There are multiple solutions here on the forum as well, that you can try.

Thanks

Hi,

First try to deactivate all your plugins except the ones provide in the theme package, clear any caching installed, the check to see if you still have the problem with the login and the slow back-end. Also check these parameters in the theme system status and make modifications if needed, according to this guide
https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
For website page speed optimization you can follow this guide after trying the steps from above
https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/

Thanks

Hello,

No, the theme by itself will not compress images but they can be compressed by following this guide:

Thank you!

Hello JohnBull,

Please notice that our Page builder is light than Visual Composer and after our tests, the theme seems to be faster than using Composer plugin. Most likely, you have some problems or customizations through your website which might influence the page speed and we recommend to optimize it, according to t our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/
Please notice that the speed of your website depends on how well your site is optimized. Notice that is not a simple task and if you do not have any experience in this regard you will do not bring good results for the theme.

Thanks for the message!

You’re not required to. But if you want new features, updates, and switch to much cleaner/simpler/faster page builder, it’s worth it. Just do full backups FIRST.

I have really to say one thing: thank you tagdiv for the great update to v8.0.

Everything works great and no problems after i updated from v7. The tagdiv composer is great and adopted nearly all old vc settings. Just to edit some little things. And now the theme runs faster and lighter then with the vc.

Thank you for the great support.

Hi,

The website loading speed is dependent by many factors. From the theme perspective you can use this caching plugin for best results, with the mentioned configuration
https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/
Also there is this guide for page speed optimization
https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/

Thanks

Hello,

What version of php are you using? what plugins are you using? There are many factors that can influence this.
If slow loading is your problem I would start at the memory allocation. Please use this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
Also the recommended version of php is 7.0
Then you will have to optimize your site loading speed using this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/

Thank you!

Hello silviarehn,

Please notice that the speed of your website depends on how well your site is optimized. Notice that is not a simple task and if you do not have any experience in this regard you will do not bring good results for the theme. Also, notice that we have a speed optimization tutorial but this is addressed only to advanced users. So, if you follow the steps which are presented in this tutorial here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/ you can increase the page speed loading and if you are not aware of the steps in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because the speed optimization services is not covered by our support policy, as you can read here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/support-policy-2/ Check our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/ regarding on dedicated server to fit to our requirements. For an example, you should check our demo preview because this website is optimized.

Hello,

If you are looking for page speed improvement please note that page speed is a very personal issue. It starts from the host that you use, to the optimization made and all the way down to the content on your site.
Please use this guide to improve page speed: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/ and please check this link for a note on speedbooster: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/tinymce-advanced-and-other-various-disabling-speed-boster/
Using speedbooster is described in the page speed guide.
The links above are not found anywhere in the code as they are. I have pointed the call to the fonts above. The second and third links are the visual composer css and the main theme css file. You should read the speedbooster instructions on how to move render blocking css to the footer. But this does not influence page speed greatly. The images are the ones slowing down your site. Almost 80% of the page speed improvement will come from image optimization and of course a decent host.

Thank you!

Hi Bogdan,

I know I did not say well.

I did not say a white page is coming out, but if I navigate through the site through a desk between a page and the page is over for a page less than a second, while the mobile thing is longer.

This makes the site seem to be caring, so user seems to be slow and not fast.

This is because it charges the style late.

I tried to create an Above the Fold but it does not work well.

If you had a better solution for the speedbooster plugin, with scrips for the file function.

Once this thema worked better it was faster and Google’s pagingpeed gave other values now, we have to settle for the maximum score of 85/86 on Desk and 67/75 on mobile (if I did a proper implementation).

I hope I’ve been pretty precise in explaining the problem.

Hello orlando,

Do you have checked our useful guide, like this -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/ Try to consult it because there you will find all the needed steps which you need to do in order to achieve best theme results. After this, try to clear all your caches and check the results. Notice that the Speed Booster is an optional plugin and if you fail to optimize your site you should consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because our support does not cover the optimization services, sorry!

Thanks for your understanding!

Hi,

You could install the Speed Booster plugin provided with the theme. More information here
https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/
The Speed booster plugin will move all the stylesheets and javascripts to the bottom of the page.

Thanks

Ok It seems the problem is the WP Super Cache. I have disable that clear cache and added the W3 Total Cache to test the difference and it’s working a lot faster.

Maybe an update broke something.
