Hi guys,
I really love the Newspaper theme. I bought it long time ago but I have finished creating a website now.
My website is: http://www.psiowelove.pl
I have done to step 4 in from this instruction: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/
But my website seems to be still slow.
The consultant from my hosting told me that I have problem with jetpack because it causes this:
access(”/home/tutusik/domains/psiowelove.pl/public_html/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/_inc/genericons/genericons/genericons.min.css”, F_OK) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory) lstat(”/home/tutusik/domains/psiowelove.pl/public_html/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/_inc/social-logos.php”, {st_mode=S_IFREG|0644, st_size=555, …}) = 0 lstat(”/home/tutusik/domains/psiowelove.pl/public_html/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/_inc”, {st_mode=S_IFDIR|0755, st_size=4096, …}) = 0 lstat(”/home/tutusik/domains/psiowelove.pl/public_html/wp-content/plugins/jetpack”, {st_mode=S_IFDIR|0755, st_size=4096, …}) = 0 lstat(”/home/tutusik/domains/psiowelove.pl/public_html/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/_inc/social-logos.php”, {st_mode=S_IFREG|0644, st_size=555, …}) = 0 lstat(”/home/tutusik/domains/psiowelove.pl/public_html/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/_inc”, {st_mode=S_IFDIR|0755, st_size=4096, …}) = 0 lstat(”/home/tutusik/domains/psiowelove.pl/public_html/wp-content/plugins/jetpack”, {st_mode=S_IFDIR|0755, st_size=4096, …}) = 0 open(”/home/tutusik/domains/psiowelove.pl/public_html/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/_inc/social-logos.php”, O_RDONLY) = 4
I have also check with google pagespeed and there are few errors:

Please help me 🙂 Thanks!

Hello aliqayyum,

1)Please try to clear all your caches, purge CDN files if you are using the CDN system, empty your server cache (if you do not have any access to do it, please request this to your hosting provider) and then test it again and check the results.
2)Try the code below and place it in Theme panel->Custom CSS area.

The code is ->

.td-g-rec-id-content_top{
float: left;
margin-right: 15px;
}

The result -> http://screencast.com/t/Q4olOZWxYyN

Hello jad,

Unfortunately, the only tutorial regarding on speed optimization is this -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/ Please keep in mind that the speed optimization is not related by our theme but only depends on how well your website is optimized. For more custom modifications in this regard, please consult the Chris topic from the Best of Forums, like this -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/tutorial-chriss-custom-optimizations-for-functions-php-etc/ and there you should find other ways to improve your website speed pages.

Hi,
I’ve installed Newsletter template and minimize all options on theme, plugins and more
to get a website faster and a good score on Pagespeed,
but it is not good.

65/100 on mobile speed – 98/100 user experience
80/100 on desktop

I have a cloud server dedicated very very fast.

If you can chat or talk on Skype, I can send you my admin username and password on WordPress so you can check it and other plugins.

Waiting your reply.

I followed your advice. I did a fresh install of wordpress on my pc and installed the latest version of Newspaper theme, with only the Visual Composer plugin. I created some articles without images, so the default one is picked up. I keep getting the same problem, saying that without content on the page (plugins, ads, images, nothing) it loads faster and it’s harder to see the issue, but it persists. I had to take a photowith my smartphone (it isn’t perfect but you see the problem it’s the same).
Can you help me?

Hi,

Well it does slow down the site that’s for sure but this depends on how may elements you use. Everything you add extra every plugin every block every animation every image slows down the site a tiny bit. All together if there are many complex elements will result in slow loading sites. Not using visual composer will result in a faster website but you will be better off optimizing your site rather than not using the theme blocks and grids. You will get better speeds just by optimizing your site rather than just removing VC. Try to optimize your webste using this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/
Test your site with google page speed and gtmetrix beforehand, and then test after the optimization. After you increased your speed try to simply disable visual composer and then test again to see how much the speed increases and if it;s worth it.

Thank you!

Hi

Please refer to our documentation for more details in page-speed regard: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/ Try to optimize the images following google’s docs: https://developers.google.com/speed/docs/insights/OptimizeImages Also you can use leverage browser cache to reduce the size of the css/js resources served by the server: https://gtmetrix.com/leverage-browser-caching.html
To minify js you can use Speed Booster plugin which loads the minified version of js for the theme. Also for css you can try clodflare; https://forum.tagdiv.com/cloudflare-cdn/

Hope this helps!
Thanks!

FYI, v 3.1 with the TD composer is wicked faster. You can read my long winded optimization thread on some of my tweaks after finally moving from 1.7 to 3.1, skipping the 2x gen. Very happy with 3.1 so far. 🙂

Hey nairolf,

After referring to your comment and the link provided, finally, I successfully activated the speed booster plugin and successfully moved all .JS files in the footer.

In my previous attempt, I was not able to find the correct CSS and JS ID, but this I found it. Reason?

Just discovered the real issue behind why we usually are not able to find the correct .js and .css id for adding it to the td-speed-booster.php and the issue was: I was copying text from the wrong location.

Like me, We all usually copy the “Registered .JS and Registered .CSS code” that appear on the top of the WordPress admin page where we have just added the “code” in functions.php code.

Actually, it displays only those .CSS and .JS codes that loads under WordPress Admin Dashboard panel. To find the actual codes, you must visit either your homepage or any post and then copy the “Registered .JS and Registered .CSS ” file into a text.

But in the case of CSS files, Google Pagespeed still showing various .CSS files

https://domain.com/…in/public/css/facebook-login.css?ver=7.3
https://fonts.googleapis.com/…0,700|Amiri:400,700|Lora:400,700&ver=7.3
https://fonts.googleapis.com/…italic,700,900,500italic,400,300&ver=7.3
https://domain.com/…r/assets/css/js_composer.min.css?ver=7.3
https://domain.com/…ntent/themes/Newspaper/style.css?ver=7.3

Though when I check the “View Source” of my post on Google Chrome, I can see these CSS moving from top to footer ( checked with and without adding the code and noticed the difference) , it’s just that it’s not appearing on Google Pagespeed result. Of course, I cleared all kind of Cache ( Super Cache+ Cloudflare) before checking it, but it’s not reflecting on Google Pagespeed result.

Only one .JS file still appears o some of the post, ie:

http://domain.com/wp-content/plugins/akismet/_inc/form.js

Do you know ID for Akismet so that I can attempt to move it too?

One more important thing- Under some thread, somebody mentioned to search for CSS ID using “View Source” page on Google Chrome but the ID that appears on this page like :

<link rel='stylesheet' id='facebook-login-css'  href='http://domain.com/wp-content/plugins/wp-facebook-login/public/css/facebook-login.css' type='text/css' media='all' />
<link rel='stylesheet' id='google-fonts-style-css'  href='http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?

These IDs contain “-css” at the end but it doesn’t work . Actually ID as found using this method ( Point 5.2) , doesn’t contain -css in the ID and it works well.

So, one should use ‘google-fonts-style’ as CSS ID not ‘google-fonts-style-css’

Can you tell me why it’snot displaying on Google Pagespeed? Is there something else that I need to look on?

Thank you.

PS: I am planning to remove https://wordpress.org/plugins/host-analyticsjs-local/ plugin. Don’t know if it’s the reason behind low traffic

Hi Nano,
Sorry my mistake, the plugin still work even if you comment out the function “// disable the plugins if there are incompatible plugins” but will not recognize any new .js or .css from another third plugin that are not bundled with theme.

That’s why you have to add manually:

$this->move_style_to_footer_queue('here .css ID');

and

$this->move_js_to_footer('here .js ID');

for each new third plugin.

The ID identification is explained from point 5.2 (link)

Hey nairolf,

Happy to see you again 🙂

Yes, you pointed out correctly, this was the method I have tried previously to find IDs but then what does mean by what Andrei wrote :

“To keep it always activated comment or delete the indicated lines from td-speed-booster.php: http://screencast.com/t/RZLIOPUNdqh Also make sure that you added the correct ids for the resources which intent to move.”

He said to add the correct IDs too after deleting the indicated line. What is he trying to say? How should I add IDs then . Is it something different than what is written here :https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/ under point-5 ?

If you have any idea of how it should be done correctly so that I can move all these .JS and .CSS files for my plugins correctly, please share the link of the tutorial.

Also, I am taking your advice ( on lowering the plugin number ) very seriousely.. Three days back, I installed a plugin which helps to host Google Analytics code locally ( https://wordpress.org/plugins/host-analyticsjs-local/ ) but I noticed huge decrement in the number of unique vistors and adsense clicks in last three days. Can it be related ( your comment ) ?

Thank you.

nairolf

Hi again Nano,
If comment out that lines from td-speed-booster, you can not use that metod.

Thank you, is it possible to hide category labels on category pages of mobile site?
I can’t find where to set this.
There is a way to set up mobile Home page or is just a feed of recent posts?

LOL…
somewhere in forum is a filter for functions to de-enqueue VC for single posts, or anything not home page. I did that before moving to the interim “shim” beta Radu did a long time back, and now the TD Composer beta (try it!). TDC gives you most of the modules from VC without all the goofy stuff, and soooooo much faster.

Don’t have the code handy, but you can de-enqueue anything, you just have to play with the “naming” of it and wrap in a if ! home statement (so, “if not home, de-enqueye pesky VC …”)

Sadly i have so zillion posts I can’t find anything of mine anymore after 3 years, so either go on safari in the forum (and pull hair out), or wait for the tagdivvy folks to repost the sneaky cool way to do that.
