If the homepage was build using tagDiv Composer then you should be able to edit the page and make the right changes, because this can be change only with tagDiv Composer.
In the most cases this is a plugin conflict with untested plugins, please deactivate ALL plugins except tagDiv Composer, also if you are using child theme or cache plugin, deactivate them, clear all cache and try again to see if the login is working.
In order to change the category on the flex block or block, you need to click on it and check the filter tab -> https://i.imgur.com/qwcrk1e.png
If there are still problems with tagDiv Composer, please let us know and provide as more details you can and some screenshots.

Please make a test using only the theme itself and check to see if the problem persists.
Also if you remove from your website all the ajax options the website should requiters let CPU and RAM. Example for elements that are using ajax filter: mega menu, ajax category on blocks and flex -> https://i.imgur.com/ca5vg11.png infinete loading

1. So if you want to have a post/article that will have set a featured image just let the post how it is, but if you want to set a featured video on your post, then you need to specific this -> https://i.imgur.com/3x55EVm.png insede the post you can set images and video without problems.

2. If you want to set some youtube videos on your homepage or any page, you can use tagDiv Composer, edit the page add a column text and paste the link -> -> http://prntscr.com/pndcqw -> http://prntscr.com/pnddar

This is the design of the flex block 2 made by our designers, this is the only flex that will be bigger than the set width, if this is a problem for you, then you can choose other flex block , using flex block 1 you should be able to reproduce almost all flex blocks.

Creating new blocks is a custom work, this is for the users that have the proper skills, that’s way we recommend to use flex blocks. All these are not errors are shortcodes from blocks and grids that are part from standard pack plugin, you’ll need to replace theme with flex blocks and flex grids.
Please make sure that you do not have a plugin conflict with untested plugins, please deactivate all non theme/tested plugins, also if you are using child theme, clear all cache and try again.
Also make sure that you have the latest version of Newspaper 10.3
