Hi,
In most cases the issue is caused by one of the cases below:
Could be caused by insufficient resources
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
In this case the hosting provider should be able to increase them.
Or it could be a security setting, module or firewall, as in this case where the theme panel was not saving any settings
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/cant-save-theme-options-2/
Also if you use Wordfence try to set it on learning more
– https://www.wordfence.com/help/firewall/learning-mode/
If you already checked or tried these, we could take a look. Send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login, also cPanel or FTP if possible. Please include a link to this topic in the email.
Thanks

Hi,
The most important thing is to make a backup before updating
– https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups
Do it by your preferred method. having a backup is most recommend in case something wrong happens, or there are complications.
As for the update itself, the most recommended and reliable method is by FTP
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
The theme panel settings, ad codes, custom code are saved by the theme in the database for the purpose of not being lost after an update. So there should be no problem in this matter.
If you use a child theme be sure to check the list of modified files for each update, if there are files that have been modified in an update by us, serving the old files from a child theme may cause problems. For example in the latest update the header.php was one of the modified files
– https://tagdiv.com/td_deploy/Newspaper/changed_files_9.2.1_9.5.html
So serving the old file from the child theme may cause problems, there were some cases. You would need to copy the new file in the child theme and redo the modifications/additions that are needed. The same for other files that have been modified by us.
After you update, clear all caches, CDN if used.
Thanks

Hello to whom is reading,
We’ve haven’t received an update for our theme (Newspaper 9) we have only just bought the theme so our issue isn’t theme support etc,
We installed the theme via FTP and then verified the theme via front-end.
Hello, I’m going to update from newsmag 3 to 4 manually through ftp server, I was wondering if doing this I could lose information, functionality or plugin that I had installed in the previous version
Thank you very much !
Hi! I chose the newspaper theme with the “Baby Blog” demo. In the live demo, the logo is large and in the forum it says that header style 11 (which is the one I chose and the one used in the demo) displays the logo in exactly the size I upload it in. I’ve tried uploading about 8 different sizes but it always displays really small (about half the size of the demo). The site is currently still in staging while I figure it out, but the temporary URL is http://j8x.fcb.myftpupload.com. Does anyone know how I can fix this and make sure the logo is bigger? Thanks!

Hi @mgargano,
Maybe you want to say if is still use this function td_api_header_style::_helper_show_header(), if is so then the answer is no, that function is not longer use, that function was made for default header, now the v9.5 include the Header Builder and the header file was change, this is one of the disadvantage using child theme ( custom elements ) you need to follow the theme updates and check if the child is still compatible.
Here is the list with the modified files -> https://tagdiv.com/td_deploy/Newspaper/changed_files_9.2.1_9.5.html
-> https://www.screencast.com/t/VJqI0ip0pOA
This is a major update, you’ll need to make a new child theme after current theme and set in it the changes from the old one.
@paperweight we recommend to be made via FTP.
Is possible that Envato Market API to have some delays on available updates.
Thank you for your understanding!

Using version 9.1 of the theme may cause various problems with the latest WordPress. I believe there were modifications in the theme in order to fix issues with WordPress 5, versions 9.2 and above should work fine. We recommend that the latest theme be used when updates are available.
What exactly is happening after you update to 9.5? Try the FTP method which is the most reliable and recommended to update
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
After you update check in the theme plugins panel and update the theme plugins that require it – http://prntscr.com/mjx1th
That message you are receiving should not cause any problems. It can appear if for example you change the page template in the backend instead of the composer edit screen. It is not an error, so the page can be used normally in most cases.
Let us know if you have more questions or need help help.

Ahhhh, this is frustrating. Not only does this appear to blow out child themes, it also is not following best practices in keeping track of deprecated functions…
@ncalex the wording on your response is unclear. Do you suggest FTP is better than using Envato plugin?
