Hello,
Please make sure your theme and plugins are installed correctly, also, you can try to reinstall the theme and plugins
-> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-wordpress/
-> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
Also, please make sure you do not have other extra plugins activated during the installation, as this may interfere with the installation process.
This is a video on how to install a prebuilt website https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ezaaE2VP7V8
Also, please make sure that all the settings are like in our requirements, please follow the guide carefully
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
and please increase all lower requirements, and follow all steps.
Thank you!
OK I found a way to block the ad, though I fear I am also blocking all admin header messages as well:
NOTE: Editing these files is DANGEROUS and can disable your website! Do so ONLY if you know CSS, HTML and general WordPress web development. You have been warned.
Normally instead of editing the CSS of the installed theme, you’d install a child theme, but TagDiv’s child theme doesn’t allow you to edit the wp-admin CSS… so you’ll need to edit the actual wp-admin.css file!
I also tried custom CSS but that is all front end facing and doesn’t affect the wp-admin section of your site. I probably could have found another
You should make sure you have a backup of this file handy. Either download copy your existing wp-admin.css file from your website or go to ThemeForrest and download a fresh copy of the theme which has the original file in it.
If anything goes wrong, make sure you have the ability to use FTP in some form to upload the unedited wp-admin.css file to your website.
OK – here’s how I blocked the ad:
In Appearance->Theme File Editor:
In the Theme Files: window, open up includes >
Then open up wp-booster >
Then open up wp-admin >
Then open up css >
Click on wp-admin.css
Now scroll down to line 380
Line 380 should show as display:flex;
Change the word flex to none so it now looks like this display:none
Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the Update File button.
I see no ill effects from this and I was able to restore the ad by changing the code from display: none; back to display: flex;
Until TagDiv sees the way to make this ad optional or dismissible, I guess I’m just going to block ALL of their admin area notifications and hope I don’t miss anything important!!

Hello,
Sometimes, this issue is also, caused by the plugin cache that you use, maybe you have enabled the cache for the backend.
I want to take a look and see what can be done there. Please make a full backup to all files and contact us via email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide the following:
–wp-admin URL and credentials
-FTP/cPanel URL and credentials
– a link to this topic in order to identify you
Also, during the investigation know that we will disable the other non tagDiv plugins.
Thank you!

Hi guys,
Background: I’ve got this website with your Newspaper theme installed which I have not been using or updating for at least two years, and the theme version was probably even older than that.
Since I was updating other websites yesterday (based on other theme) to new WordPress and theme version, I decided to update Newspaper theme (and the whole website) at the same time, cause it’s on the same server.
I had the feeling that making a backup copy before updating after such a long time would be a really good idea, but of course I thought to myself ‘Nah, what bad could happen that I would not be able to fix?’. Well… here we go:
So after uploading the newest Newspaper folder via ftp and replacing the old one, shit hits the fan.
First, I get a fatal error, website crashed.
I googled and this was a known issue with new WordPress version and old themes, I applied a quick fix (change one line code) in class-wp-textdomain-registry.php and hooray! the website ressurects. Happy days? Not really…
Second, the website does not look like before.
In fact, it does not look like a website at all (frontend), nothing works or displays correctly.
I googled and found that you made a major update some time ago and I need to install additional plugin to make old things work as they should (Standard Pack). So I did that and success again – pages and posts load as they should… with one very strange exception…
…the Contact page seems to constantly reload itself in an endless loop (it looks like it’s trying to send the form constantly without any fields filled in?), and the contact form is not visible in mobile version at all (mobile plugin installed), maybe it’s actually good because it’s not reloading endlessly like in the desktop version… This really drives me crazy… BUT! I change browser from Firefox to Chrome and the problem disappears! How come? Any idea what’s wrong? Also seems to be wrong only for logged in members (admins), that’s really strange.
But on mobile the Contact form is not there in any case.
I’d be grateful if you could tell me what is the best way to set everything straight, cause I like to have my websites and server files in good working order and clean, without any messed up code if it’s not necessary, so I’d prefer to reload WordPress and probably upload the newest Newspaper theme from the scratch – but how can I keep all my pages and posts and keep the structure and settings? If I make a normal backup copy with all site details included – will it not replicate the problem after importing it back onto the newly reinstalled WordPress and theme with old plugins, settings etc?
In the (not so) worst case scenario I may fancy rebuilding the website using one of the new templates you provided which look really nice, but I need my original content (e.g. pages, posts and media) to do that.
But if I didn’t want to redesign with new template – what’s the best solution to get everything back to clean and working state (now it’s working, but a bit messy and prone to problems in future, I guess…)?
Thanks.

Hi rishindra ,
The error: “denied for too many attempts” is coming from a plugin or some security settings that have been made. We don’t have it in our theme or theme plugins.
What I can suggest is to try disabling Wordfence temporarily (and other security plugins, you can do it using FTP or cPanel in case you can not login) and see if that makes a difference.
Also, please check this guide – https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-unblock-limit-login-attempts-in-wordpress/
Thank you!
Hello,
To have the automatic updates option, you had to have version 10.3.1 and from version 10.3.2 you could use this option -> https://tagdiv.com/introduction-to-newspaper-theme-automatic-updates/
Please try to do the update manually via FTP/cPanel -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ and do a full backup of all files and databases before updating.
Also, please try to update the theme without extra plugins activated during the installation, as this may interfere with the installation process.
Also, after the update please make the tagDiv plugins are installed, like tagDiv Standard Pack, tagDiv Composer.
Thank you!
Hello,
So, do you have a version of the theme 8.0? if so, yes, problems may appear, because the version of the theme compatible with the PHP 8.0 was from version 12 greater.Please update the theme then.Please try to do the update manually via FTP/cPanel -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ and do a full backup of all files and databases before updating.
Also, please try to update the theme without extra plugins activated during the installation, as this may interfere with the installation process.

For a long while now I have been unable to access the WP Editor on my site. I have tried many things such as deleting ht-access, clearing cache, changing permissions on sftp but nothing has worked. Would anyone be able to help me look into it?

You have to upload the ad.txt via FTP into your root directory (where the wp-config is located), then Google will find it.

instead of cpanel url
– admin url and credentials
– ftp access information
Can I send 2 of these?
Hello,
In most cases, this problem occurs because you have the latest version of WordPress with an older version of the theme.
Please use the last version of WordPress 6.1.1 with the last theme version Newspaper 12.3 (if you have a theme version older, then tagDiv Composer does not work) and check to see if the problem persists.
If you need to make an update, before please make a full backup to all files and the database, in case something goes wrong. => https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
Here you can find information about the changes that have occurred in each update over time https://tagdiv.com/newspaper/
I recommend that you update the theme manually https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ via FTP/cPanel/File Manager, also if possible disable extra plugins during the theme update to avoid any problems that may arise and make sure that you have activated the tagDiv Standard pack plugin to keep the website’s look. You can try to update the theme on a staging website.
After you update the theme, you need to update the theme plugins too.
In the worst cases, the settings in the theme panel may be lost (there have been isolated cases), in these cases, after the theme plugins that were previously used are activated, you will have to use a backup for the theme panel -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/import-export-theme-settings/
Also, make sure that all the settings are like in our requirements, please follow the guide carefully: https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
and please increase all requirements that are lower, and follow all steps.
Also, if the problem persists please check if you do not have a plugin conflict, please deactivate ALL plugins except tagDiv plugins, also if you are using a child theme or cache plugin, deactivate them, clear all cache (also from your browser) and try again.
Let me know the results!
Thank you!
