Hi,

Please try and reinstall the theme using this method
https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
Then try again while having only the plugins provided in the theme package active. If you have a child theme, switch to the main theme. All the parameters mentioned in the guide should be modified according to the documentation, please check that again.
After all this, if the theme panel is still not saving properly, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide there admin login information. We will take a look and maybe identify why this is happening.
Also paste a link to this topic in your email. I will edit your previous reply and remove the login information because this is a public forum. You should not post sensitive data here on the forum.

Thanks

Hi,

@believer
Please follow these guides to install the theme properly, depending on the install method you choose. Newspaper is a theme not a plugin, and needs to be installed accordingly

Hi,

Sorry I did not check the theme version. The background issue was fixed in the latest theme update and we had no other bad reports in this matter
https://www.screencast.com/t/vUN6gqccZZnm
If you decide to update, please do it by FTP
https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
Check any custom code you might have in the theme panel related to this, or in a child theme. I have just tested the background ad in the version 8 and it is working properly. So it must be something in your case that is interfering with this function.

Thanks

Hi,

@awoodhams
Not all files can be edited through the default editor. You can use FTP and locate the needed file in the theme folder. Then make the changes as shown in the screenshot.

@Vinay
This will work for the author avatar, author name and the author website. It will not affect links you enter in the description box. I believe WordPress will strip this link property, even if you try adding it directly in the description field.

Thanks

Hello @schauvin and @pedromantovani,

I recommend you to make to make a full backup to your database and then, update the theme to the latest theme version which is 8.0 via FTP way and check the results. Clear all the caches and purge CDN files. If you are using some untested plugins which can interact with the theme core files, you should remove all of them and leave just only required plugins to be active and check the results. Also, check your dedicated server to be according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/

You need to change the name of the theme in the style.css, using a text editor.

Best to edit these things on your PC, then upload via FTP; then if you break your site, you can just undo the change you did.

Probably best bet right now, is to reupload the original file(s) you tried to edit via FTP.

Not the fault of the theme or theme company if you break your site in the way you have.

(( I don’t work here. ))

Nothing changed. Maybe I’ll give you my FTP?
Once again in Newspaper 7 everything was fine.

Well, I’ve re-installed theme 2 times, first time from WP, and the second – with FTP.
Nothing changed.
I’ve had Newspaper 7 untill 8, and it worked fine with the same plugin set.

Hi,

You could try manually installing the composer. Unzip the plugin and upload it by FTP to your plugins folder, in the wordpress installation

Hello Wiesława Kłos,

First of all, please ensure that you are using the latest theme version, right installed via FTP way and then check your system status parameters to be according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/ Most likely, all of these parameters are not correctly increased and that’s why you have some errors regarding on saving.

Hi,

The speed booster plugin is provided in the theme package. It can be installed like a normal plugin
https://www.screencast.com/t/Y0VwAjW8lz0S
Or you can unzip the plugin and upload it manually by FTP in the plugins folder, in your wordpress install. Then go to the plugins section and activate it.

Thanks

Hi,

Please deactivate all your plugins except the ones provided in the theme package, then clear any caching installed. Switch to the main theme if you are using a child theme. This will rule out any plugin interference, or modifications.
Lastly you could try a theme reinstall using this method
