yep thats exactly what I wanted!
I put in that code and changed the background color to black and hover to red, however I was wondering how I can change the regular text color to white, as on my site now (JustFreshKicks.com, scroll down a little on the homepage to see the button) you can’t see the text. Also, if you can please tell me how I can center the text and make it the same size as in the picture you provided and remove the arrow that would be exactly what I am looking to do. Thanks!
I found the setting on how to remove the categories on posts in the theme panel…but by any chance is there a setting I’m missing for the homepage as well?
We would like to display a lot of articles, but it seems redundant to have the categories listed so many times.
I’m hoping it’s not hardcoded, but if it is, some help would be appreciated. New to the theme.

We’re currently using your NewsPaper 7 theme. I’m facing a problem here. If you go on the homepage you’ll see that “Lifestyle” section on page shows random articles instead of just ‘lifestyle’ articles and so is the case with ‘technology’ and other sections too. They show random articles and not specifically articles from the named categories.

Problem is…I just dont get it.
So I did this:
Went to cpanel – file manager, edited header style 1. added this code right at the end.

Refreshed site – homepage is blank.
What am I doing wrong? This is so frustrating…
Hello, the theme seems to be working great on my site except for the home page. I’d like it to look like the ‘news’ page or any of the other pages. I can’t figure out how to do it. Any assistance would be great on this issue.

Updated today and realised I need to alter some things on the homepage side bar
Open the page, click the pen icon, (this occasion its an ad box with a title I want removing) – delete the text save, close, its now shows its been done on the visual composer – update page the title appears again
However, I now see that the code only affects the homepage. Whenever I enter some of the pages in the main menu the white space appear. Any solution to ensure removing the white space all the time?

I do not want the slider on the page. I just want it in the header, and to be displayed only on homepage. How do I do that? Most themes have a setting when publishing a page – at the bottom – you can add a slider to the header of the page.
I know how to use the Slider, I dont know how to add it to Newspaper 7 – there is an option that says Slider but only displayes “Default.” It wont show any of the created sliders.
On http://www.universalprinciples1.com/ – I was able to implement it – kindly check it out to see how I want it.

I experience that this solution only affects the posts situated in the homepage. What to do when I want to avoid the gradient on a general basis, for all posts and categories? Like showing http://frosta.frostaporten.no/category/hvaskjer/ the gradient appear despite the code in the custom css box…

the code you mention will render a slide on the homepage but you can easily add the revolution slider element in visual composer and place it where you want on that page.

Hello, for some reason the sidebar will not show up on my homepage.
I tried Default setting and Right hand under Sidebar Position, but sidebar will not show up).

I want to add revolution slider to homepage – on this site tryhealthier.com – I want it above the content and bellow the header menu (like it is on this site http://www.universalprinciples1.com/)
But, if I try to edit the page, at Rev. Slider Options -> Choose Slide Template -> It only shows Default. It doesn’t show any of the created sliders.

I liked the possibility of removing the gradient from the homepage post. Can this be done for other posts also, like for big grids and featured posts? I think many of my images appears very grey due to this.

Point 1 is already checked. There is a h1 tag on the homepage since quite a few versions back.
Point 2: we cannot do that for each block in particular because our function is used on all blocks at once so if you want to change the heading tag of a block title you will have to change it in the theme code here: http://screencast.com/t/1JthDyiA

Please keep in mind that our mobile theme has not been tested and also, has not been designed to be used in this regard, and therefore, I cannot provide an accurate response in this regard, sorry! You can try to add some conditions in front-page.php core file because this is the main core file which creates the homepage on mobile theme, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/OYWBZm1Q1lHO This is just a simple suggestion.

I have tried to make this possible by using a homepage post with the same image as the background, but the grey layer over the post makes the image not standing out as I want it. Do you have a better solution for this one?

There is no problem. It was added intentionally because lots of people did not include a h1 tag on their homepage so it was very bad for SEO. There are people that do not know how to use the tags for best seo practices but always complain the theme is not SEO friendly. So a measure had to be taken to prevent such claims.

Unfortunately, our theme does not have any such an option that allows you a way to make these changes, sorry! Notice that this is the layout of this type of homepage post and if you want to modify this functionality of this template you should edit the theme core file corresponding to this feature in Visual Composer. Notice that is not a simple task, and if you are not aware of doing this custom work, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because we cannot provide this type of services at the moment, sorry!

We have build a website with Newspaper template and most things are working fine. Except the permalink structure. The URL gives an index.php in it, which is not so nice for SEO. We tried to fix this, but if we change the permalink we get 404’s on all the subpages except of the homepage.
We think it’s an .htaccess problem, because permalink structure works fine on our test environment, but on the live environment.
Is there any way to fix this problem?
