Hi,
I assume you are referring to the posts on your homepage as the post itself shows all category tags. The single category tag on the homepage posts is grabbed from the primary category. Set the category you want to display in this section on post edit: http://screencast.com/t/DlqoHY5ry1

Since the update to 7 and the latest WP version I have problems with the images on the homepage.
In Edge and IE they don’t show on the first load. When I resize the window they do.
On Chrome I have no problems at all. How can I solve this? Stressplein.eu

I just updated to Newspaper 7 and everything worked fine. I also installed the mobile plugin, a great plugin by the way, however after few hours, i started to see mobile version on desktop using internet explorer and google chrome. also on my mobile, I started to see desktop version of homepage.
After investigation, I arrived to the conclusion that it is a caching issue.
First I paused cloudflare and kept only w3 total cache. the problem was not resolved.
Then I used user agents to passthrough but the problem is still there.
Anyone can help please.

My website http://www.observerxtra.com on mobile version displays a white screen with the text:
“The mobile theme path couldn’t be set. Please check if you already have another mobile theme plugin active and disable it (ex. Jetpack Mobile Theme or similar) If you use a cache plugin clear it before checking the results.”
When I updated the site last night, the mobile was working. I even changed the colour and it was working great. By the morning, without touching the site again the error message is displayed. Have to say when it was working I really liked it. Much faster which is super important for mobile — thank you for creating this add on. When I can get it working on our site it will be a great asset.
I don’t have another mobile theme plugin installed or Jetpack. I am hosted on WPengine and they look after cache and don’t allow cache plugins. I cleared the cache for page and object but nothing has changed. I updated all of my plugins.
After the upgrade to v7 my pages have gone wonky in the background – especially my homepage which I can’t get into anymore to edit. I read that Visual Composer was breaking these pages and not the theme, however, I have the latest visual composer and something is wonky with my current pages. If I start a fresh new page everything looks fine.
I would super appreciate if someone can take a look.
Hi, just installed v7, and after a few changes in the given config it’s working fine.
Little trouble left with the New Mobile Theme. It shows Posts with the category “Featured” on the homepage first. I would like to have Posts with a given Tag (“Top-News” in my case). Homepage for PC-Site is configurated like this. Does not show “Featured”-Posts but articles with the Tag “Top-News”.
Would you please help me? Thanks in advice. Peter

On the buttom of the homepage i added Exchange block. Insstead of exchange rates it gives me error:

Thanks for following up. We’ve done the whole remove & reset all plugins thing – all working now in the back end so long as we activate and then deactivate the mobile theme, then the VC works as expected, but the order of elements on the admin page/post editor is all strange (ie the VC is pushed down the page, moving items like ‘page layout options’ and ‘homepage latest articles’ to the top of the page.
On the front end, we have the social counter at zero still (http://naturallyzimbabwean.com/) and we no longer have a unit without the cache refreshed to test/check whether the mobile menu is still showing on chrome. We haven’t had any comments from users yet today.

I’ve 10,000+ articles on our website. And I don’t want the readers to read beyond the latest 500 or say 1000 articles (or probably limit by month, say last 3 months only).
I have used the infinite loading on homepage and used the limit functionality to limit it to 1000 posts.
But how to limit throughout the site (specially in category and author pages)

I failed to integrate as you told. Some js from the theme may not supporting/ failing the project js. Please download from here -> http://202.62.224.54/project.zip. There is an index.html file. This is integrated in a blank page. I want this exactly in my homepage. Please have a look.

I’ve followed the steps in the screencast you included. The smart sidebar doesn’t work on my homepage that’s in VC. I entered td-ss-row in the Extra Class Name field for the row that the widgetized sidebar resides.
The smart sidebar does work on Posts and category pages.
I’m running V 2.3.5 of Newsmag.

What am I missing to get this smart sidebar to work on the homepage?

Please read the documentation fort the mobile theme as it works as expected. IF you use the mobile theme, your desktop version of the site will be overwritten on mobile. It will only display a grid and your latest posts on the homepage for better speed and stability. Please refer to this topic: http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/mobile-theme/
If you want the old mobile version, simply disable the mobile theme plugin.

I’ve update the Newspaper theme to version 7 (from 6.7.2) and I activated the mobile Theme Plugin. Unfortunately, its homepage appears also on desktop and tablet. Is there any fix?

I tried updating to version 6 a couple of weeks ago but went back to 4 as everything got jumbled up for example sidebar was below content and visual composer was messy (but the updater script did work to keep my sidebars).
I will try again with version 7 this week but can I check on this page forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2 you say to delete existing theme via ftp and make sure the following are deleted – but are these deleted if I already delete the existing theme folder or are they somewhere else as well?
