Hi Mochal and Simion,

I have the exact same problem with v7.8.1. with the new update (last version I had was from Feb) and this one did not have any issues. With version v7.8.1. Open Sans Condensed shows a weird font like Mochal had a screenshot of above. All the other fonts seem to be accurate..

I just did a fresh install and hardly have any plugins installed.. I haven’t modified the header menu, or using child theme. I do have a custom code but that is only to make the social media sharing buttons have white background.

Did you ever figure out of it?

Hello, I now have version 7.8.1 of Newspaper theme that I just did a fresh install with.

The previous version I had was an older version released around February 6 of this year.

The first thing I noticed was that the default font in 7.8.1 was different than in the previous version. I don’t mind a different font, but the strange thing is that when I change the Main Menu font from “default” to “Open Sans” or “Open Sans Condensed”, it looks more like a “Times New Roman” type font. It looks nothing like Open Sans…

Did I miss something? Or could there be something wrong with my install?

Hi
The WP Super Cache was installed and configured like indications, but anyway I disabled it for test. I was disabling all plugins and testing them, and when I disabled tagDiv Speed Booster all was better. I thought this was a esencial plugin for Newspaper template but now I realize the site is working well without it. I hope it.
I also disabled tagDiv Mobile Theme and Akismet. Is Akismet needed?

Thanks you for your help.

Hi,

Please make sure you are uploading just the theme file from the archive you have downloaded, not the whole package – https://forum.tagdiv.com/whats-included/
You can find more information related to installing or updating the theme here
https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/

Thanks

Hi,

Please try and switch from your child theme to the main theme, the check to see if the issue is still there. If this does not fix it and you have no custom code that could affect the background, and deactivating the plugins also does not resolve it, you could try and make a new theme install
https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-install-via-ftp/
Maybe something has gone wrong during the update process. The background ad is working properly on my end, using the latest version of the theme.

Thanks

Hi,

Please make sure you are uploading the required file containing the theme from the theme package you have downloaded, not the whole package – https://www.screencast.com/t/IYtsmPle
This theme file is located inside the archive if you downloaded the full theme package. You must extract the archive and locate it.
Please use this guide to help you better understand how to install or update the theme

Hi,

This depends on how well the website is optimized. Your website loading speed seems to very from very fast to very slow. It is also recommended to use the caching plugin with these settings
https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/
Also try as a test to disable all your plugins except Visual composer, clear the cache and then check to see if this improves page loading speed. Some plugins can have a negative effect on website performance.

Thanks

Hello,

Please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files. Then delete your current social counter and install the one provided in the main theme package you can download from envato.

Thank you!

Can you please send me the latest one and also why it asks for activating license key ? Is it the same as the theme purchase key ?

Hi Guys,

I went to the theme welcome page, clicked the Plugins tabbed and clicked “install” on the social counter plugin, but it didn’t work.

See screen shot below to see the error message:

https://www.irreverentgent.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Screen-Shot-2017-04-20-at-10.44.53-AM.png

Please let me know how I can fix this and get the plugin working properly.

Thanks,

Dave

Hello,

Pleas only use wp super cache and these settings: https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/
We have not tested the w3 total cache plugin. It could also be another conflicting plugin so it’s best to disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. If you use a child theme, please switch to the main theme to make sure it does not affect the proper functionality of the theme.

Thank you!

Hi,

That depends on the image size that you use for the featured image. The image you are using is too small, and it will be displayed like it is now – https://www.screencast.com/t/C85B8hImtw
If an image is used that is smaller then the size this post template uses
https://www.screencast.com/t/rs9fPwlumld it will be displayed as it is, it will not be stretched by the theme.
For example in this post the image is using the entire available space
https://themaghrebtimes.com/04/20/algerias-messahel-in-talks-with-saleh-and-hafter/
You could try this code if you would like to keep the existing images, and it will center the featured images the way you want
https://www.screencast.com/t/703P2brtDRZA
https://www.screencast.com/t/C24dMV7dCSgQ
https://www.screencast.com/t/2tmN95mBx8
This is the code used, you must enter it in Theme panel->Custom Css – https://www.screencast.com/t/wlfwfDAr
After you enter the code, if it does not apply please clear any caching installed and check again

.single .td-post-featured-image img {
margin-left: auto;
margin-right: auto;
}

Please let me know if you need further help, or this solution is not working properly for you.

Thanks

Hello,

Please only use wp super cache and these settings: https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/ and for cdn: https://forum.tagdiv.com/cloudflare-cdn/
Also please contact your host and have them disable any hosting side cache.

Thank you!

Hi, on my site I noticed a strange abnormality in the menu seen in the responsibe version (menu-mobile).
On the home page if I click on the mobile menu, everything works perfectly, but if within a category of my site or within an article and clicking on the menu, the screen shrinks (as it is set in the effect Of the template) but no menus appear.

My site has installed the Total Cache w3 plugin and I noticed that by disabling the plugin the menu is working properly in all functions.
As I set javascript load in footer and javascript minify, maybe that might be the problem. What is the javascript file that is loaded for the mobile menu? To exclude it from minify and asynchronous load.

Thanks so much

Hello,

It is recommended to first move your WordPress install and then install the theme and import the settings from your current install by using the theme export/import option: https://forum.tagdiv.com/import-export-theme-settings/

Thank you!

Hi,

You can try and install, then use the recommended plugin by your hosting provider. Maybe this has an option for you to encrypt only the required page as well.

Thanks

Hi,

We have just updated to 7.8 from a version 4.xx. It was a fresh install in that we deleted the previous theme and installed the new one. We never got an update script from the Welcome Panel so assumed everything was ok.

The child theme is the main issue.

We’re making changes to the stylesheet but they are not being honoured. The stylesheet simple doesn’t load the amendments being made. Opening them up in browser inspector displays the stylesheet info, nothing else.

It seems 7.8 is loading but not 7.7c – The welcome panel also displays the theme name as newspaper even though we had changed the child theme name.

Be great to get a resolve to this so we can put this project to bed.
Thanks

Hi,

That would require you to have the version 7.7 in order to update to 7.8.1 that way. Each update contains changes to different files and parts of the theme. One update can modify one file and the next other files.
You can try updating using this guide – https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/ which is basically the same thing.

Thanks

Even I try to install support thai font but I still can’t find this font in drop down list.

Do I have to copy this font code to anywhere else before it will appear.

Hello,
thanks for the information – I have only one remaining question. When I migrate the content to the new wp-installation – do I have first the newspaper theme install before migration or afterwards the migration? Do BuddyBackup or UpdraftPlus also copy/clone/migrate the fully newspaper theme?

Thansk again,
with best regards
Michael

Hello,

The mobile theme plugin is already included in the theme package you download from envato: https://www.screencast.com/t/qnH713I5aYA (you must download the full theme package, not just the install zip)

Thank you!

Hi,

Please check your WordPress install if plugins and the theme do not change the error. You most likely have a faulty install as the error comes from the WordPress files, not the theme.

Thank you!

Hello herondino,

Please ensure that you have right installed your theme according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/ To be safe, you should download again the latest version of the theme from Theme Forest and install it gain via FTP way at your side, clear all your caches and check the results.

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Thanks for the message!
