Hi,

I think you got the theme’s mixed up. Newsmag doesn’t have a cloud library and full big grids. Only the Newspaper theme has those.

Not sure how I could help however. If you used to use Newspaper, the cloud library is provided within the theme package, or you can install it from the theme plugins panel -> https://prnt.sc/-9Uc1VpHS6E2

Thank you!

Hello,
I recently updated my Newsmag theme to the latest version to patch a security vulnerability. However, the td-cloud-library plugin is completely missing from my Newsmag Plugins installation panel.

My homepage relies on flex blocks (specifically [td_block_big_grid_fl_5]), so my layout is currently broken and just displaying the shortcode text.

Could you please provide the secure, updated td-cloud-library.zip file so I can install it manually and restore my homepage?

Thank you!

Hi,

Those thumbnails are indeed blurry. It’s the same on my test install. The thing is that they are also blurry if I test with a default theme, I think they look even worse https://prnt.sc/4SaSaFy2OAiT

There is a very small thumb there, 100×100 https://leather-templates.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/901-Leather-Belt-Pattern-v01-fixed-belt-free-02-100×100.jpeg If it was bigger it would look better, but I see no way to set a bigger thumb for the gallery in Woocommerce.

I found a lot of topics online about blurry woocommerce images, especially in galleries. It looks like there was an issue but I’m not sure if it was fixed https://wordpress.org/support/topic/weird-image-behaviour-in-product-gallery-after-last-update/

Some say to use this option in the wordpress customizer to make the thumbs bigger https://prnt.sc/6L8fZs_QQ3HE and then regenerate the thumbs, but I tried it and it doesn’t seem to have changed anything. I tried other code solutions but no luck so far. I’ll keep looking, maybe there is a way to increase the size of the thumbs or a way to make them look better.

Thank you!

Hi Simon,

Thank you for the detailed explanation and clarification regarding the current category filter behavior inside Cloud Templates and Flex/Grid blocks.

Your explanation actually helped me better understand the design philosophy behind the system and also why our setup behaves differently from what Newspaper normally expects.

I think part of the reason is that I still approach content structures from a more relational/database-oriented mindset. My background goes back to older database systems like dBase II/III/IV, BASIC, DOS scripting, Excel VBA/macros, etc. Because of that, I naturally tend to think in layered logical relationships rather than purely in single-category archive structures.

So in my head, the logic becomes something like:

IF current category = Regio Gouda
THEN include:

Regio Gouda (the regional page + the region category)
Zuid-Holland (one of the 12 provences of the Netherlands + the region category Gouda)
regional/national shared pool (one category showing on all regionpages)

AND exclude:

Binnenland (the general page and category for nationwide news without a specific regional topic)

rather than simply:
“display current category archive”.

That is probably where my expectations differed from how Newspaper internally handles Cloud Template category logic.

Our setup is also somewhat unusual in scale and structure for a single-site WordPress installation:

1 VPS-based installation
Ubuntu + Apache2 + Plesk Obsidian
16 vCPU / 60 GB RAM / 2 TB storage
single WordPress site
67 main sections/pages
57 dynamically related regional structures
55,000+ news posts since 2017
40,000+ featured images through Google Drive (WPMF Cloud addon)
database approx. 740 MB
site files approx. 600 MB
WP Rocket + Redis Object Cache
approx. 79,000 unique visitors monthly
approx. 325,000 pageviews monthly

Performance remains extremely stable:

GTMetrix A / 100%
Core Web Vitals all green
SEO 100/100
average TTFB around 55ms

So for us, the discussion was never really about performance gains. The static regional pages already perform extremely well.

The real motivation behind the Cloud Template migration was primarily:
maintaining one centralized template instead of maintaining 57+ manually structured regional landing pages.

Your explanation now makes it much clearer why our relational regional/province logic does not fully align with the intended behavior of _current_cat inside Cloud Templates.

To be honest, I actually appreciate the clarification because it confirms that the behavior we observed was not random or broken, but simply outside the normal archive-oriented design philosophy of the system.

Thank you again for the insights and technical clarification.

Best regards,

Hi,

Seems to be working correctly now, I checked your website on mobile https://prnt.sc/P3SqckT5VPDy and the menu popup works fine https://prnt.sc/mbKNMWw79Kbg

To explain, if you activate the optional mobile theme plugin, the functionality and design of the website will be changed completely on mobile. This plugin is not required in any, which is why it’s not installed automatically. You can choose to use it if you want, so you can simply not install it and activate it.

If there are any remaining issues please let me know and I will check.

Thank you!

Hello,

I ve just installed the Mobile Theme plugin, and I m trying to customise the open article page and I can t seem to find out how.

I would like to eliminate the author box from under the article. Is that possible? How? Or at least have another box that displays something else, not information about the author? Like social media counters? A newsletter form? Trending articles?

Can I change the number of the related articles displayed after the text of the article? Can I use a filter for what is displayed as a „related article”? Like a category, a tag, popularity?

My site is http://www.r3media.ro. Thank you!

Hi,

Did you install the composer that is provided with Newspaper or did the one from Newsmag remain installed? To be sure, please delete the composer, then reinstall it from the Newspaper plugins panel -> https://prnt.sc/i_00nu3gAK0Y

But in case this is not the source of the problem, I will take a closer look. If you can, please send us an email with a link to the website and admin login (user and pass) at contact@tagdiv.com and please also include a link to this topic.

Thank you!

With all plugins disabled and only the following active:

Newspaper theme version 12.7.6
TagDiv Cloud Library version 3.9.5
TagDiv Composer version 5.4.5

The “Edit with TagDIV Composer” option in Pages, still does not work. Disabling, uninstalling, removing, then reinstalling and activating a new copy of the TagDiv Composer did not resolve the issue.

This issue began following updates to our Home Page using TagDiv cloud templates. We’ve also notice that all of our top menus (above the Home Page content) have disappeared.

We have now sent you Login Credentials, referencing this support ticket.

Hello,

We are using the Newspaper theme with a standard Woocommerce installation:
https://www.doordebenen.nl/

For product categories, we are using the following plugin to show the bottom description in product categories such as:
https://www.doordebenen.nl/c/tactiekbord-voetbal/

However, the bottom descriptions are not showing on the live website, even though they do show in our WordPress and plugin settings.

We checked everything with the plugin and also had their support, but it’s still not showing. The plugin support also told us:

From what I can see in the source code of the website, the category is not using the standard Woocommerce classes.
Looks like there are different category templates and not default Woocommerce hooks, that’s why the description is not shown.

We were also asked to ask you for a list of hooks that are used for product category templates.

Can you support us with this?
Thank you!

Hi,
I see that it is possible that additional plugins installed on the site are consuming more resources than you currently have allocated.
What you can do is run a test using only the theme plugins to see if the problem still persists. If everything works correctly, then enable the other plugins one by one and test after each activation.
There are plugins like WPML, Revolution Slider, and others that require quite a lot of memory. In some cases, 512 MB of memory is not enough and may need to be doubled.
Thank you!

Hi Calin,

Thank you for your response. I have already tried the revisions and even installed a completely new template from the Cloud Library, but the ‘6 zones vs 0’ error persists. My hosting provider has also optimized the server (PHP limits, LiteSpeed, and ModSecurity disabled), but we haven’t found a solution.

As you suggested, I have just sent an email to contact@tagdiv.com with the subject: ‘URGENT: persistent “Layout sync error” (6 zones vs 0) – sportlifeathletes.com’.

In that email, I have provided the WP-admin and hosting credentials so your team can investigate the backend. I look forward to hearing from you there.

Best regards,

David

Good morning,
I’m writing because, when accessing the WordPress dashboard and trying to open the Newspaper > System status section, a critical error appears and the page does not load.

The message displayed is the following:
“There has been a critical error on this website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.”
The WordPress version currently installed is 6.9.4, while the Newspaper theme is updated to version 12.7.5.

I am also attaching a screenshot of the page. Could you please let me know what I can do to solve this issue?

Hi gmodonesi,

If you are using Cloud Templates, please make sure the required plugins are installed: tagDiv Composer and tagDiv Cloud Library. In some cases, tagDiv Opt-In Builder may also be needed.

If you are still using older templates, you will also need the tagDiv Standard Pack.

All these plugins can be installed from Newspaper > Plugins.

As a best practice, please always check which theme plugins are currently in use before updating the theme, and ensure they are properly installed and updated afterwards.

Thank you!

Hi,
thank you for your reply.

I understand that Facebook has recently changed some crawler behaviors, however the issue remains isolated specifically to this Newspaper installation.

The same server infrastructure, PHP stack and Facebook crawler access are working correctly on many other WordPress websites hosted on the same machine, which strongly suggests a compatibility issue related to this specific setup.

At this point we will proceed with a migration to a different theme architecture.

Thank you for your time.

Hi,
I’ve checked the website, and it appears that the responsive header and footer are now loading correctly. However, based on your screenshots, it looks like the tagDiv Mobile Theme plugin may still be installed and active.
Please verify this on your side. If the plugin is installed, kindly disable it, then clear all cache. This should resolve the issue.

I am experiencing a persistent Facebook Sharing Debugger / Open Graph issue on a website using the Newspaper theme by TagDiv:

https://www.serenissima.news/

The Facebook Debugger consistently returns HTTP 403 and fails to properly retrieve Open Graph metadata from article pages.

Before suggesting generic hosting/firewall checks, please note the following:

  • I manage the server myself (DirectAdmin environment).
  • The server hosts many other WordPress websites on the same IP address and same Apache/PHP stack.
  • Those websites share correctly on Facebook and pass Facebook scraping without issues.
  • The issue is isolated specifically to this Newspaper installation.
  • Technical context:

  • Apache 2
  • PHP 8.3
  • WordPress 6.9.4
  • Newspaper 12.7.6
  • No external CDN or proxy layer involved
  • What has already been verified:

  • Firewall / CSF / LFD are not blocking Facebook crawlers.
  • robots.txt is not blocking facebookexternalhit.
  • Caching plugins have been removed/tested.
  • Database cleanup and wp_options optimization performed.
  • Theme Plugins were temporarily disabled for testing purposes.
  • Other websites on the same infrastructure continue to work perfectly with Facebook Debugger.
  • Important observation:

Another WordPress site (mine, personal) hosted on the exact same server successfully returns proper Open Graph data and is scraped correctly by Facebook.

This strongly suggests the issue is related either to:

  • Newspaper header rendering,
  • TagDiv metadata generation,
  • dynamic template output,
  • or crawler-specific behavior triggered by the theme stack.
  • The Facebook Debugger currently retrieves incomplete OG data and sometimes only partial metadata such as:

  • og = domain name only
  • missing og
  • missing og
  • Could you please provide technical insight specifically related to Newspaper/TagDiv behavior with Facebook crawlers, rather than generic hosting or firewall suggestions?

Thank you.I am experiencing a persistent issue with Facebook sharing/scraping on my website serenissima.news, which uses the Newspaper theme by TagDiv.

I have already performed a deep cleanup of the database and verified the server configuration. Before suggesting the usual “contact your hosting provider to whitelist Facebook in the firewall,” please consider the following:

I am the hosting provider. I own and manage the server (DirectAdmin based).

The firewall is NOT the issue. There are dozens of other websites on the same server (same IP) that share perfectly on Facebook without any blocks.

The issue is site-specific. Only the installation using the Newspaper theme is failing to provide the correct metadata or is being blocked/rejected during the scrape.

What I have checked so far:

Metadata: Standard OG tags are present, but the Facebook Debugger is not pulling them correctly.

Plugins: Performed a cleanup of caching plugins (WP Super Cache removed) and optimized the wp_options table.

Isolation: As mentioned, other sites on the same server work flawlessly, ruling out any server-side IP blacklisting or Firewall (CSF/LFD) interference.

I suspect there is a specific conflict within the theme’s header output or a built-in SEO/Open Graph setting in TagDiv that is clashing with Facebook’s crawler.

Please provide technical insights that don’t involve “whitelisting” as that has already been ruled out.

    Hi,
When you see shortcodes on your site, it means one of the theme plugins is no longer installed. After your screenshots, the problem is related to the tagDiv Social Counter, which can be installed from Newspaper > plugins – https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-social-counter-intro/

    Hi Paniki2300,
The Revolution Slider is currently showing the immediately next available plugin version rather than the latest one. This is expected behavior, which is why the version displayed may not match the most recent release.
To properly update the plugin, please follow these steps:
    1. Connect to the theme account and download the full package
    2. Unzip the downloaded package
    3. Inside the extracted files, locate the plugins folder
    4. Find the revolution_slider folder, which contains the plugin files
    5. Use the zip inside this folder to install or update the plugin manually following the standard update procedure: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-install-revolution-slider-v5/
    Thank you!

    Hello guys,
I just updated to the latest version, and I can see in the changelogs that the latest version of Revolution Slider is included. (Ref: https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-changelog/ – misc: Updated Revolution slider to the latest version (7.0.11);)

But when I check my plugins page, it says I am running the version of 6.7.41, and there is a new update for Revolution Slider (6.7.54) which is another version of the mentioned 7.0.11?

So how do I update to latest version of this? When I download from Themeforest, I dont have the “Newspaper-tf\plugins\revolution_slider_5” folder, in the downloaded folder, even though I download the complete install package.

Can you please help me from here? 🙂

    Hi,
Could you please provide a bit more detail?
Are you referring to changes made in the Theme Panel settings or modifications made directly within the theme files? If changes were made directly to the theme files, please note that these will be overwritten during a theme update. In such cases, it’s recommended to use a child theme for customizations.
If you are referring to Theme Panel settings, these should not be affected by a theme update.

    A few recommendations:
    – always perform a full backup before running any updates
    – before updating the theme, take note of the active theme plugins, and after the update, ensure all required plugins are installed and up to date. If any required plugin is missing, you can reinstall it from Newspaper > Plugins

How to Update the Newspaper Theme – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/

    Thank you!

I appreciate your suggestions and I will follow them. Thank you for reporting this issue to the theme developers. I hope they can fix it permanently in the next update, because mobile traffic is the most important. If it’s already like this on a VPS, I can only imagine how it must be for users on shared hosting.

I also forgot to mention that Google Fonts are significantly affecting performance. The theme depends on them, and they are adding about 37.8 KiB of render‑blocking resources in PageSpeed, as you can see in this screenshot: https://ibb.co/4H1PDGc

You suggested the OMGF plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/host-webfonts-local/). I installed it, but unfortunately it’s very limited and constantly shows messages encouraging you to upgrade to the Pro version to improve performance. The Pro version requires an annual payment.

I looked for alternative plugins, but most of them are also paid. My suggestion is something much simpler: please ask the theme developer to include an option to download and host the fonts locally directly within the theme, instead of depending on paid third‑party plugins. This would improve site speed and overall performance.

If you could also pass this suggestion on to the theme developer, it would help a lot.
