Hi,

Currently I see some kind of custom mobile menu, or from a plugin, on top of the theme mobile menu -> https://prnt.sc/xr6is1rpWCft That extra mobile menu is displayed over the entire mobile header actually, meaning that I can’t click on the theme mobile menu, the logo, or the search.

If I delete that extra menu using the browser inspector, then the theme mobile menu seems to work correctly -> https://prnt.sc/tTDRcRp4z_Qw It opens correctly. So the only problem I see is that there is an extra menu in the mobile header, making it impossible to interact with the theme header.

About updating, if the website broke after updating the PHP, that can be caused by multiple things. Could be because of a plugin that doesn’t support newer PHP versions, or custom code, or the child theme as I see you use one, or an inactive extension in the new PHP version, or other causes. I suggest testing on a staging/testing clone of the main website, in order to deal with the issues there first.

From the theme perspective, if you update it just make sure to install this standard pack plugin -> https://prnt.sc/zkjDfLHkzSHy That’s a plugin we added in Newspaper 10. Normally it’s optional, but for older websites it’s required. Older websites are built with the older blocks, grids, templates, etc. and they will not display correctly without that plugin.

Thank you!

Hi,

Unfortunately I have very little experience with Polylang.

I searched a bit and found a discussion about it in this topic -> https://generatepress.com/forums/topic/polylang-navigation-logo-linking/

Maybe it’s the same setting mentioned there -> https://prnt.sc/EGGqMs82HUtz Please check there.

Thank you!

Subject: Newspaper Header Logo always links to the default language homepage when using Polylang

Hello tagDiv Support,

I am using the latest version of the Newspaper theme (v12.7.6) together with Polylang on a multilingual news website.

My website structure is:

– English (default): https://yogyapost.com/
– Indonesian: https://yogyapost.com/id/

The multilingual setup is working correctly:

– Language switcher works properly.
– hreflang tags are correct.
– Canonical URLs are correct.
– Open Graph URLs are correct.
– Rank Math SEO outputs the correct metadata for both languages.

However, I have one issue with the Header Logo element.

The issue

The header logo always links to the default language homepage:

https://yogyapost.com/

even when the visitor is browsing the Indonesian version of the website.

For example:

Current page:
https://yogyapost.com/id/2026/07/09/example-article/

Expected logo link:
https://yogyapost.com/id/

Actual logo link:
https://yogyapost.com/

Inspecting the HTML shows:

My desired behavior

I would like the logo to behave as follows:

– On English pages:

– Home → https://yogyapost.com/
– Articles → https://yogyapost.com/

– On Indonesian pages:

– Articles, categories, tags, archives, search results, etc. → https://yogyapost.com/id/
– (Optionally, I would like the Indonesian homepage itself to continue linking to the English homepage, but my main concern is that all Indonesian content pages should return visitors to the Indonesian homepage.)

What I have already checked

– Newspaper Theme v12.7.6
– Polylang
– Rank Math SEO PRO
– WordPress.com Business
– Header Builder (Cloud Templates)

I also checked the Header Logo element but could not find any option to configure the destination URL of the logo.

My questions

1. Does Newspaper officially support language-aware logo URLs when using Polylang?
2. Is there a built-in setting to make the Header Logo automatically link to the current language homepage?
3. Is there a hook or filter that developers can use to override the Header Logo URL?
4. If this is not currently supported, is it considered a feature request or a known limitation?

Thank you very much for your assistance.

Something got messed-up with the header on my blog using the Journal template.

The logo image no longer displays, just text.

PHP Version: 8.2.31

I tried going back two versions to see if it corrected but no luck.

Hi,

The logo can be changed in the composer -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/add-logo-newspaper/

I see you changed it on mobile -> https://prnt.sc/jHYMc8MuNbP8 It can be changed on desktop as well.
Simply edit for example the homepage with the composer -> https://prnt.sc/6EK8SlCc16LT then click on the logo and set your own logo image -> https://prnt.sc/njJIT90Gx2NZ

In case there is a problem, or if you have more questions, let me know.

Thank you!

We run Newspaper theme on https://giaohoibaptitvietnam.com/
Version: 12.7.6 REGISTERED on
But I can not change the Logo image

Hi,

That probably means that the logo wasn’t changed in the mobile header. To explain a bit, a header can have up to 4 versions, meaning 4 different logos. There is the default desktop header and the sticky desktop header, and there is the default mobile header and the sticky mobile header. These versions are independent of each other.

There is a guide here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/add-logo-newspaper/

So using the website manager, if you click on the mobile header -> https://prnt.sc/OYqu-Z-k-24g Then you can customize the logo -> https://prnt.sc/phPAGxHaT-zS

Or click on anything in the page and switch to mobile -> https://prnt.sc/Dj9ABv5q6evC then customize the mobile logo.

Then do the same for the mobile sticky header. Either switch to it from the website manager -> https://prnt.sc/m09kH1UroHel Or simply scroll a bit down while in mobile view.

In case there are any issues let me know.

Thank you!

I’m using the latest version of Newspaper with Cloud Templates.

I created a custom Cloud Header called **”Header Template – Habersham News.”**

I can edit the desktop version of the header without any issues.

However, when I switch to the **mobile version** inside the Header Template and make changes (for example adding a hamburger menu), the editor says the changes were saved, but when I close the template and reopen it, all of the mobile changes are gone. The desktop changes persist normally.

Because of this, I ended up editing the mobile header directly inside my **Single Post Cloud Template**, where the changes do save correctly. That solved the problem for single posts, but Pages (such as my Obituaries page) still use the global Header Template, so they don’t receive the custom mobile header.

My questions are:

1. Is this expected behavior?
2. Should the mobile version of a Cloud Header Template save independently of the desktop version?
3. Is there a known issue where mobile edits to a Cloud Header Template are not persisted?
4. What is the recommended way to have the same custom mobile header (logo, hamburger menu, search, ad, etc.) appear consistently on both Posts and Pages?

Thanks!

Hi,

@thejerseytour

Changing the logo should be a matter of minutes. Please let me know what kind of issues you are facing when changing the logo.

Some of the theme demos use image logos, some text logos, some SVG logos, or combinations of these. These default logos can be removed and replaced. If you installed a theme demo please mention which one it is, and I will check what kind of logo it uses. Or provide a link to your website, so I can see what kind of header you are using on it and provide instructions for changing the logo.

Let me know and I will help as much as I can.

Thank you!

this website is built so differently than any other wordpress template ive used. I took the advice to remove “SVG” which ive never had to do before, but now its pulling in some title information from another area and not showing the logo. Very frustrating…how come it’s built with all of these extra loops? Any way to change it? Don’t love this editor either – elementor or wpbakery would be so much easier.

I see it. It seems to be a border bottom set on the top row, the one containing the logo. Do you want to remove it from there?

If so, then in the composer please click on the row containing the logo and check in the CSS tab -> https://prnt.sc/KLf68zcFmWMx If there is a 1 set there in the border bottom box, remove it and the border should be gone.

Thank you!

See the thin line in the header area? Between the logo image and the paragraph there is a thin grey line. I tried editing the element “text with title” but it kept that thin line

It only appears on mobile vertical

Hi there,

I’ve been trying for awhile now to upgrade a site to 12.7.6 from 12.7.5 but each time it breaks the top portion of the site. After upgrading, I re-install and activate the tagDIV Composer and tagDIV Cloud Library as both installations are removed but the logo, nav menu, ad, weather widget and general formatting are removed. This is what it should look like:
Before Updating Theme

This is what it looks like after updating the theme:
After Updating Theme

These are the theme plugins that are installed and activated:

Thoughts on what might be causing this?

Hello folks! Before I updated to 5.4.3.6, I was manually rendering a 970×120 ad spot above the logo and had worked out code to resize to match the logo size. Since updating, that solution isn’t working – every solution I try, the ad won’t render wide enough. Any ideas on how I can resolve this?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

our website started not working properly after updating to WordPress 7 and Newspaper to 12.7.6.

When enabling the tagdiv Standard Pack Plugin, the website throws a 500 internal server error.

When disabling the tagdiv Standard Pack Plugin, the website is workingh but the header changes (logo disappeared, “DISCOVER THE ART OF PUBLISHING” is shown). Also i cannot edit the Home page and other pages-articles because i cannot use the tagdiv Standard Pack plugin (since it is disabled).

This is our website: https://immorfou.org.cy . You will note that the header is not normal.

Please, help! Thanks in advance.

Hello, Simion. Thank you for your help. I placed the mobile code in the header. But the ad is not centered. The logo and search button push the ad to the right. How do I move the logo and search button under the mobile ad so I can center the ad? Thank you! https://i.postimg.cc/GmbzRNyW/mobile-ad1.jpg

That seems to be quite a common issue, there are guides about it https://rankmath.com/kb/display-site-name-in-search-results/

According to that guide Google checks in 4 places.

1. The homepage title tag -> https://prnt.sc/6MZfvcGkSovy

2. The homepage h1 tag. I see there is no h1 in the page. This can be a problem, each page should have a h1. By default it’s the logo, did you disable it perhaps? -> https://prnt.sc/KnqrjwKaG4SN Or if you want to have a different h1 please add it in the page.

3. The open graph site name, this one -> https://prnt.sc/wY_k_Ztn0YDn

4. The name from the structured data -> https://prnt.sc/GN0VVV21eREh

All these 4 should be the same from what I know, and there should definitely be a h1 in the page. However, this doesn’t guarantee that Google will display the name instead of the URL. They say that it can appear, not that it will appear https://developers.google.com/search/docs/appearance/site-names

Hope this helps.

Thank you!

Hi,

The logos must be changed with the composer https://forum.tagdiv.com/add-logo-newspaper/

So for example if you edit the homepage with the composer -> https://prnt.sc/ZGIbsCY7sfgP and click on the logo, you can remove the default demo text logo -> https://prnt.sc/wUaH5M_BUiU0 and set your own. You can use a text logo, or an image logo, or a SVG.

Or is there a problem with the composer? You mentioned that it isn’t working. If the composer isn’t working on your website, I will take a look at the issue. In this case you can send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login for the website, and I will investigate as soon as possible.

Thank you!

Hi,

The mobile theme is optional, use it only if you want to. The mobile theme has it’s own homepage, header, footer, post template, category template etc. These are created to be as simple as possible. All the available settings for the mobile theme are in the theme panel -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/ Everything is supposed to change after you activated it, it should look as presented here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/mobile-theme-introduction/ But if you want to use the mobile theme and there are design problems, I can check as well. Let me know.

This is the logo I see on your website on desktop -> https://prnt.sc/qoEBatFN4683
And on mobile -> https://prnt.sc/LiFBcobZB4wc

The desktop logo and the mobile logo are independent from each other, so they can be different. The logos are set in the composer like this -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/add-logo-newspaper/

Thank you!

I turned off tagDiv Mobile Theme, since I couldn’t controll the styles of homepage index – is it possible.

Without the plugin I cannot control the mobile logo. It either takes the Retina logo (I have conflict, because I need black for desktop and white for Mobile). Still cant find the place where i can edit this file https://iberix.pl/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/np10blue-white.png, which is preloaded for mobile version.

Another question: how could I edit the intex of articles on mobile version using tagDiv Mobile Theme. When I turn on the plugin the grid changes and the images of the articles are distorted.

my site’s iberix.pl

I could provide some CSS. But even if they are made to display inline, they won’t all fit on a single line, there are too many menu items -> https://prnt.sc/nd1kRZT8UiNd And some space is required on the left -> https://prnt.sc/rbUJI45weV7b Is that what you want to do? Or perhaps I am completely misunderstanding, sorry if I am.

Another way to do it is to use a mobile horizontal menu, maybe in a new row below the row with the logo -> https://prnt.sc/B-8Fb-8uZsuA This displays a menu horizontally and with a scroll if there are too many menu items to display at once.

Thank you!

Hello Simion,
thank you very much for your help.
I have fixed the logo and adjusted the background image. I have put 100% as width, it works for tablet but still it’s not perfect for mobile.
Further suggestions?
Thank you very much.
