You can edit the page using the tagdiv composer. The sidebar is created on the page directly so you need to use the composer and change the elements. The latest articles section is added by the page template: https://forum.tagdiv.com/page-templates-2/

The article ads will appear in all posts, when entered in the theme panel. In the page content use ad boxes where you want ads displayed.
In posts you could use cloud templates as I mentioned above, use templates with ads for some posts, templates with no ads for others.
Or try for example the Adrotate plugin, I believe that has more complex settings for ads, it will offer better control.
I like the look of Template 8 with the background picture.
But it’s far from ideal that it uses the featured (thumbnail) picture as the background picture.
As that picture need to be very large for the background it is not a good choice for a thumbnail picture to display in one of the blocks on the front page.
Many of those large pictures takes up space and cause some speed issues on my site.
Is there a solution to this? To use a much smaller image as the featured image – and still keep the layout of Template 8?

The page template you are using, the menu overlay template, this will position the header over the page content. That is what is supposed to do.
I see there is a margin top set for the grid, but that is still not enough to make it fully visible

Try to edit the page with the composer and increase that margin value. Or maybe consider changing the page template.

It seeems that bbpress option doesn’t add the sidebar, but if we change the PAGE template on the same newspaper template settings, the sidebar shows up. It seems the buddypress is using the page template to set up the sidebars.
Is there anyway to use the bbpress option to set up the sidebar template?

Unfortunately adding custom content after the loop will also cause it to appear on category pages where the loop is also used. The best course of action would be to simply replace the latest articles by changing the page template to the default one and create the latest articles section in the tagdiv composer using standard blocks.

The Edit comment link on comments pages (visibl when logged in as Admin) is not visible in Newspaper8. Neither is a ‘link-template.php’ in the theme.

Is there a way to hide the 1st image in a post on the mobile version?

I chose Post template style 12 (so, no featured image) and set at the beginning of the post a small image. But, when you look at the mobile version of the same page, you’ll see the image twice (the featured image + my 1st image). Is there a way to hide on mobiles my 1st image?
And tablets will use template style 12 right? So no problem?

Glad you solved it. Indeed, there are a couple of post templates that don’t display the featured images in the post page (templates 5 and 12 I believe).

What image is served when sharing in Facebook would depend on your available OG data. Most SEO plugins will provide the necessary data for sharing. From what I can see this image is used when sharing one of your posts

That seems to be a default image of the all in one SEO plugin, maybe you need to check it’s settings, or try to specify an image for the shared post specifically. Yoast offers this per post for example.

If accessed like that the link will not work. Copying it and opening it in a browser tab will work. As far as I know this has always happened, I believe this is how it should be despite being somewhat inconvenient.
2. The loop element currently appears only on category templates, tag, author, search and archive. It is a special loop element different than the latest articles loop in pages. It uses the flex module settings.
So in default pages a loop is only possible with the latest articles page template.
Maybe this will change as the plugin gets more developed, I really can’t say what will happen.

It looks like this is what the problem was. I had made a post on Facebook that linked to the site, but there was no image on the link. I wasn’t sure why that was happening but thought maybe because there was no featured image on the front page. I added a featured image to the home page and selected the option to hide the featured image from the page. When I did that, it broke all the thumbs.
Ultimately, the plugin was redundant and removing it didn’t change anything, since I am using a post template that doesn’t use a featured image, anyway. Everything seems to be working properly now on all pages. Thanks for your help!
P.S. Any idea why Facebook is not pulling an image from the site for links to it?

That is not possible by a theme setting. The ads will display at all times once entered in the theme panel, there are no options to exclude category pages specifically.
The theme ad system is simple, enter ad codes and they will appear. Most users that require more advanced control over the ads use the Adrotate plugin. This would have the settings you are looking for

So you can create a post template without entering ads there, the theme panel ads will not be displayed so the post will have no ads. The template can be applied to the posts you want.

I would like to be able to control the block title background and underline, as demonstrated on the front page of the main Newspaper demo, and as pictured in Theme Panel/Black Settings/Block Header Template. I am using default style 1 but don’t get the block title background, or the underline. I used the Say What demo as the basis for my site, so it may have some styling overrides hidden somewhere. Where are the title sections for the blocks styled? Is there a section of each block settings to set a rule/underline?

Sorry but we do not know of any plugin that works properly with our theme that ca auto load the next posts.
The 3 columns on posts is already available in the current version of the theme using the new cloud library plugin that lets you create a post template using the tagdiv composer page builder: https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-cloud-library-plugin/
This example only show how to import a template but once imported in the tagdiv composer you can edit the template using the page builder and split the content into multiple columns.

So you want that page “ALBUMRECENSIES” to show up in the mega-menu, instead of the sub-category page. The mega-menu only works with categories, displays posts from categories. It is not supposed to display pages, that is what the page menu would be for.
But what would be the purpose of including the page instead of the sub-category exactly? Category templates can now be built just like pages, with the tagDiv composer so the design of the category page is not a problem.
Maybe leave it as a category maybe, and design a category template as you want with the tagDiv composer. You can make the category template exactly as the page you created with the flex block

Please try and make use of the available theme options instead of code modifications if possible, these might not work with future theme modifications by update or even be lost after an update.
We try to add more features with each update, more multi-purpose options for both news publishing and other areas. But these take time and lots of testing.

If you want a specific category layout, you will have to use the cloud library plugin and import a category layout. Then you can customize it in the tagdiv composer and save the template.
