Similar problem with mobile theme. It worked before upgrading to 8.5 but does not now.

Now it home page on my iPhone 8plus shows:

[vc_row][vc_column el_class=""][td_block_big_grid_3 category_id="4"][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column el_class="layout" width="2/3"][td_block_22 limit=”1″ category_id=”18″][td_block_1 category_id="4" custom_title="" tdc_css="eyJhbGwiOnsiYm9yZGVyLWNvbG9yIjoiIzAwMDAwMCIsIndpZHRoIjoiNjAwIiwiZGlzcGxheSI6IiJ9fQ==" offset="5" category_ids="4,18"][td_block_6 limit="2" block_template_id="" category_id="" custom_title="" offset="10"][td_block_12 limit=”1″ offset=”12″ category_id=””][td_block_18 limit=”2″ offset=”13″ category_id=””][td_block_8 offset="1213" category_id="4" limit="6"][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/3"][vc_widget_sidebar sidebar_id="td-opinion-sidebar"][/vc_column][/vc_row]

If I go to the “full site” link my my phone I get the responsive page that should show as the home page on the mobile phone.

Hi,

The width can only be changed on pages at the moment. The post page total width cannot be changed. The post content width is fixed as well and depends on having a sidebar or not. This is a post without a sidebar for example
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/td-post-five-things-you-may-have-missed-over-the-weekend-from-the-world-of-business/
There are many post templates to choose from
https://forum.tagdiv.com/default-post-templates/

Thanks

Hi,

I believe that needs to be entered in the post page. Then the code has to be entered in the post template files. Each post template has a corresponding loop-single file (Ex: post template 2 -> loop-single-2.php)
The post template files are located in the main theme folder. Edit the post template you wish and enter the code in the structure, where you would like it to appear
https://www.screencast.com/t/CAWfrL3b
These files can be edited through a child theme

Hello nomoretechno,

If you want to have two different images for blocks and post page you should try using the post template style 5 which is not using the featured image at the top of the page. After you have set up the featured image for that post, notice that you can simply add another image at the top of the post from the editor and then you will have two different images, as you want. For more information about post templates, please check here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/post-templates-2/

Thanks for the message!

Hi,

That would be possible using a post template that does not display the featured image in the single post page, like post templates 5 or 12
https://forum.tagdiv.com/post-templates-2/
Then place the gallery in the top part of the post, it will appear as featured. In the backend an actual featured image still has to be set, to create the thumbnails.

Thanks

Hi there,

I have my TagDiv Pinterest widget enabled and set up as an element on my dev page. The widget seems to pull images and pins properly, but when I click on one of my pins displayed in that widget, it doesn’t directly take me to that pin. Instead, clicking on any pin takes me to a Pinterest page displaying that pin, then similar pins. With the TagDiv Pinterest widget, the pin appears as the first of many similar pins and is not featured in any way. This is not the behavior I would like to happen with the widget.

A good example of directly linking to the pins is present in the official Pinterest widget. If you try clicking on any pin in the widget builder template, you’ll be instantly linked to that pin. It appears as a featured pin, with other similar pins to the right of the featured pin.

Can you provide a solution for the widget behavior, so I can get click-throughs to the specific pin itself?

Thanks!

Hi,

1. You can simply paste a link to the image and we will take a look. A link to the actual website page would be also helpful for more accurate solutions.

2. An option for this does not exist, the post templates are predefined. It could be reduced with some CSS if necessary. If you could provide an example post we will give you a solution.

3. I don’t quite understand what bar you are mentioning, some more details would be very helpful for a better understanding.

4. That is the More articles box, it can be disabled in the theme panel
https://forum.tagdiv.com/more-articles-box/

5. Tags can be set individually for each post, in the post edit screen
https://www.screencast.com/t/PHxkUEr20
You can choose what tags the post should have and add them.

Thanks

Hi,

@arturkrzyk
That is a used in the category templates, there are two templates that feature a transparent header. They can be seen in the live theme demo
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/category/template-style-6/
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/category/template-style-8/
You simply need to choose one of these templates for the category you want, in the theme panel
https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-category-settings-work/
Be sure to set a background image as well for the category page where you apply the template, and that is all
https://www.screencast.com/t/PqdqfPKlxtHZ
Please let us know if you need further help, or you have more questions.

There are also post templates that have similar design, see them here
https://forum.tagdiv.com/post-templates-2/
These will use the featured image of the post as background.

Thanks

Hi

you mentioned different sizes you are using in your demo:
On our demo we use 1021 x 640 px large Images here https://forum.tagdiv.com/image-size/
On our demo we use multiple sizes, most have around 1068 × 713 px. here https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-vs-featured-image-size/

So my question is: What is the best size?

I am planning to use post-template number 6 and block 23 and 4 on the start page

Cheers

I have this error since I upgraded to 8.5.1. It only appears if I see the webpage logged in my WordPress account, it is an error message in the footer since I updated, I have to point out that I do not use the wp booster plugin but this message did not appear before. It is normal ? , I appear on all my websites with newspaper 8.5.1

wp booster error:
The path /var/www/vhosts/mydomain.com/httpdocs/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/parts/footer/td_sub_footer_template_1.php of the template id: td_sub_footer_template_1 not found.

Hi,

The theme requires featured images to be set for each post or page
https://forum.tagdiv.com/featured-image-or-video/
From these featured images the thumbnails will be created. If there is no featured image only a default placeholder will appear
https://forum.tagdiv.com/theme-thumbs/
The process of uploading and setting a featured image is essential, thumbnails will not be created otherwise.
The title can be controlled with the Yoast SEO plugin
https://kb.yoast.com/kb/yoast-wordpress-seo-titles-metas-template-variables/
https://yoast.com/wordpress/plugins/seo/titles-and-meta-descriptions/

Hi,

Please enter the code as it is, do not modify it at all

.page-template-default .wpb_text_column .w2dc-listings-block :last-child {
margin-bottom:0!important;
}

Make sure it is not in conflict with other codes you might have in the theme panel. Try removing all other codes and leave only this one. Or enter it directly in the theme stylesheet file to see if it works.

Thanks

Hi Simon,

Thanks for the reply.
Yes, that is an option. Didn’t see that template because I already had the page set as the blog page in WP settings. And in that case, the templates do not show.

Hi,

You could simply create two pages, a homepage and set that accordingly. Then create another page using the latest articles template. Set that in the menu for example as the blog page. This demo uses this solution
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_recipes/
The latest articles section can have a sidebar or not

Hi,

@xbass
That would depend on which pagination you are referring to. Blocks have different pagination options
https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-guide/
The same for category pages, they can have different paginations
https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-category-settings-work/
The Latest articles template on pages and the post pagination have only one pagination (numbered)

Hello!
Right now I’m using template Avada and slowly I’m migrating the page to your template. To do this I’m using the plugin Theme Switcha. (https://wordpress.org/plugins/theme-switcha/)

After update of the template to the version 8.5 it stopped working properly while using Theme Switcha. Before the update (version 8.2) it was working properly with the plugin.

Administration panel of the template is looking like this:
https://cloud.limitless.ovh/index.php/s/BKmHNR4YmdnrO2H
New functions of the template (Multi-Purpose plugin) are not displayed:

On Template Style 7 for posts, is there a way to move the title below the featured image instead of on top of it? Is there some kind of css workaround where we can remove it entirely? We tried display none on the title:

.td-post-template-7 .td-post-header header .entry-title {
display: none;
}

but when the page load it still pops up for a second and disappears. Please let us know if there is a work around.

We are currently using the Template Style 7 on the pages for our posts and are wondering if there is a way to control the scaling of the featured images on the fullwidth header. Also, is there a way to change to way the image is pinned (i.e. change it from top center to middle centered) the way we can change the way the thumbnail images are pinned when cropped?

I don’t think this is what was asked.

I need to know how to have a custom homepage and a blog page (set as the ‘posts page’ in wp reading settings) without the sidebar and with a title.
And have the sidebar on all single posts.
Is it again something that can only be done through the template rewrite?

Hi,

I believe that is category template 2, try a code like this
https://www.screencast.com/t/o2IEZUGJcr

.td_category_template_2 .td-category-header .td-page-title {
margin-top:-17px;
}

Thanks

The only way that seems to work is with the Page Model “Slider Revolution Blank Template”.

Every Page Model from Newspaper does not work on mobile (it does not ask for password and doesn’t shows content)

Hi,

You could use the empty page template, this will not show the header and footer, only elements you choose to place on the page with the composer
