Newspaper 4 had not a template without header and footer. Homepage Blank was something similar with Defautl template from new version(without title and latest articles, just for pagebuilder) – https://forum.tagdiv.com/page-templates/ If you want to create a custom template please take a look at our page template ā http://screencast.com/t/ENINuT7K2XE and try to create your own template without header and footer(add it in the root of the theme like the other templates) and set it when you create a page where you don’t want header and footer ā https://developer.wordpress.org/themes/template-files-section/page-template-files/page-templates/

In the V4 thme, you introduce a very cool template to show all articles publish in the site.
It look like there is the year/month and name of an article on one line without image.
It seems to disappear with the V6.
I know there are a lot of different themes but we have more than 1 000 articles and the lighest presentation will force our readers to watch a lot of pages to see all we publish :

I think that we should rename Default Sidebar as maybe it creates confusion. Theme comes with a default sidebar in Widgets section called Newspaper default.
For your Homepage (or another page) you can use Widgetised Sidebar you can set what sidebar to display ā http://screencast.com/t/EFIkHdk3XT you can choose Newspaper default or a custom sidebar. Or you can directly add blocks in sidebar position – http://screencast.com/t/dm3hdzWNP0P
For your articles you can create and set a sidebar(Default -Newspaper Default or custom sidebar) from Blog and Posts Template and it will be displayed on all of your articles, please note that it will be overwritten if you set a different sidebar for each post – http://screencast.com/t/rsOt6tYxZCLV

Hello I have a main important question.
After using two seo plugins (1. wp-meta seo and 2.Yoast) they killed my site after install, cause all RSS functions where off, I am on the search for an alternative option. Even in having 3000 Blog posts it is nearly unpossible to work out the description by hand
How can I bring a description to SERP snippts by using post excerpt (used in many articles before) without any seo tool- and without leading RSS output, cause there are some site using my Feeds
In my old WP Theme i used:

apart from buddypress pages being blank, by bbpress pages gives 404 error too.

The page is not scalable for bigger screen size and the page should come full scale like the demo page http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/
here if you see the header menu the black template or the menu template is spread through out the page. However it’s not the case for the page I am trying to configure. There is gap between the top header menu and the actual screen. It kind of looks odd.
Please help me out.

Please check this guide an update your theme properly – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ make sure that you delete the old theme so no files from version 4 will remain(like you can see in the docs). In version 6 are 3 page templates – http://screencast.com/t/P1d4dBhKeVq (no Homepage Blank or old templates).

The title in the last version of this theme you had shared a full width blank template here in the forums.
Newspaper 6.1 needs something of the same design – no header or footer and full width.

I appreciate your help which I followed and with a bit of trial and error helped me resolve the problem! I incorrectly thought the homepage sidebar and default sidebar are the same. The confusion came because they are both adjusted using different methods. So Iāve explained it in simple steps for me to understand, to help any other newcomers, and to ask if you can tell me if I am wrong about anything!
The Homepage sidebar is different from the Default sidebar.
To customise the Elements/widgets in the Homepage sidebar go to the Pages – Homepage
To customise the widgets in the Default Sidebar go to Appearance – Widgets – and add remove widgets in the Newspaper default box.
To set a default sidebar go to Blog and Posts Template. In the box choose Default.
To set a universal custom sidebar go to Blog and Posts Template. In the box create a new custom sidebar, then choose it. Then go to Pages – Post Page and in the Custom Sidebar box choose the Custom Sidebar.
However some of the Elements in the Homepage sidebar (such as the Social Counter) are not available in the Widgets section. Is there away to duplicate them across so they can appear in the default sidebar?

@ciupi2k4 As Chris stated this templates aren’t customizable using Visual Composer’s page builder and the panel options are the only ones available for them so in order to customize them you need to edit and alter their templates located ion the root of the theme: http://screencast.com/t/hHKmxxh3

I know how to modify the homepage using VC. However, I don’t find a way to change/customize the other templates. All I can do is to select predefined style templates from Theme Panel but I want to make customization to those Style Templates (or add new ones)

Never seen this issue. Does this happen in the preview while using the visual or text editor to do a normal post? Are you using the default post template(s) or a custom template?
In your screen shot your text has no spaces; and so there would be no line break.
Be sure to turn off any plugins not included with theme; and also check console in Chrome/IE with F12 to reveal errors on page render.
I love Newsmag as it is; just would like some options to streamline code, which the LESS compile method will solve for many things, thankfully. However, a “style2.css” and “functions2.php” kind of thing with all the bbpress, woocommerce, and other such things removed, would be super duper cool. Being able to just rename the 2 files to make them the default to cut the bloat for pure magazine sites would be on my happy camper list š
Oh, and option to have the categories print bottom of page with tags vs top of page, which seems to cause a problem with pesky Google News (they pick up the categories for some reason as part of headline sometimes when printed above the headline). I am either turning them off, or manually moving them in the template file — not big deal, but some folks will cry about having to touch the code, as you well know.
Hi, thank you for your response. Problem was not the addition of blocks using visual composer, but on the page attributes option on right side on the page editor, the option selected was page builder+latest articles+pagination . I changed it to default template and the problem was gone. Then I saw that every page had same problem, and I selected default template for all, and the problem does not exist now. There was no option to set default template from theme panel.
Also please correct in your future version that it does not automatically assign templates to all pages.

Please provide the full 404 error that you have.
Also bout the demo we could not include the official demo in the theme because we wanted to keep the theme as small as possible. We included a smaller demo which comes with the page templates and some posts/widgets which should provide good start.

Also do you have any sidebars for your category pages? If you do, that sidebar set for category page will overwrite Blog and Post template. All post from that specific category will have the same sidebar(sidebar that you set for your category page) – http://screencast.com/t/dsKojj0pS

The VC has nothing to do here, because it doesnt need to show up of course on pages that are build with VC.
I need somthing for the ELSE section, so no VC used. I succeeded now with regular WP onboard tools, adding in the else section my featured image. Might not be up to the programming level your framework is set in, but it works š Actually the longer I look into your theme, the more it feels that from good old WP not much is left … it looks like its complete own system. Hope I’ll find my way into it. Is there also a documentation for theme-tweakers like me, one that is not about the panel, but about how to adapt the theme beyond? What all these functions are for? About the API?

Maybe my questions are just WordPress related or/and Template related.
Here are my questions:
I disvocered that WordPress works differently in some situations.
The first thing is the Login (when in Backend sttings only registered User allowed to posting Comment). If a User wants to comment on he has to Login. But instead to be able to Login at the sites he stays he is redirected for Example to: http://www.altenburg-net.at/wp-login.php?redirect_to=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.altenburg-net.at%2Findex.php%2F2015%2F06%2F18%2Fmelbourne-calling-three-reasons-why-you-should-visit-it%2F

Is there a trick to open the Login Form in a modal Window like in the TOP Header of Newspaper?
Or to direct him to a Login/Register Page? – If Yes, how can this be done? Are there Plugin available for this? And if Yes, which one would do this job?
Or in some kinds if a User types a wrong Username and/or Password he is redirected to the wp-login.php Page too. So, asking for a solution for this too.
Maybe a Plugin by the Developers of this amazing Newspager Template could programmed to prevent the redirection to the wp-login.php Page š
As I told you IĀ“m a absolut rookie with WordPress and English isnĀ“t my native Language so please donĀ“t beat me. I searched endless Forums and Search Page to find a Solution but without results.
And further Questions about security Plugins to prevent spamming and User Registration. Which Plugin are useful and works with Newspaper V6 without problems?

I just installed Newspaper theme (Default). Have few questions.
1. I already have 300+ articles with images. Do I need to run any plugin to regenerate thumbnails that suits the theme?
2. I have to switch off the featured thumbnail option from the theme panel as the article image was appearing twice at top. How to sort this issue?
3. I just installed setting of default theme and not the data. The home page is based on latest posts. Is there a way to get the home page template for default theme? I can probably customize it based on my data and then use it as a home page. This will save the time as compared to the creating a new page.
