Hi,

For some reason get_the _time function take the custom post date also in the sidebar. A solution it will be to leave the default sidebar for this custom posts and change sidebars for all other categories, posts, pages…

Hi,

You don’t need to select a template and it’s not necessary to create a page, you could access the forum by adding /forums to your url (ex, http://www.yoursite.com/forums), if you still want to create a page you can doit like this – http://screencast.com/t/GemPXMcO7gD3

@forra Please provide more details about your new custom sidebar, how did you created? Everything disappear from the widgets section from your sidebar or this sidebar is not displayed on your page?
Please follow our documentation: https://forum.tagdiv.com/sidebars/ and try this without any plugins active, leave just Visual Composer active and clear cache.

Hi,

Please deactivate all plugins, leave only Visual Composer plugin active also empty cache and check if the issue is still there. If it is not please activate your plugins one by one and which one create this issue. Also if you have custom modifications to the page template or footer files please check it. Let me know how it goes.

This is interesting: It’s not the main issue that http videos are not shown in a https website (in Chrome and FF), but it’s because the http video is loaded in an iframe!

_Explanation:_
There’s a difference between active mixed content and passive mixed content. Mixed passive content is img – audio – video – embed and is safe to show. Iframe is not. Also script is not.

Mixed Active Content is content that has access to all or parts of the Document Object Model of the HTTPS page. This type of mixed content can alter the behavior of the HTTPS page and potentially steal sensitive data from the user. Hence, in addition to the risks described for Mixed Display Content above, Mixed Active Content is vulnerable to a few other attack vectors.

It would be best if https support is all over in the theme. But from a content/visitor perspective the solution would also be to replace the iframe embed from the featured video template. Is that an option?

All other savings (except Translations) work properly, i.e. saving changes in Template settings, Categories…

Category pages show "No posts to display" - topic

I can’t figure out why (most of) my category pages don’t display posts (I’ve chosen the M6 design on the template and the categories). They used to show the slider (still with “no posts to display” shown under the slider), but I don’t want the slider, just the individual posts under the specified category to display.

Now that I’ve disabled the slider, nothing displays (at least on the ‘Casa Grande’ category … for some reason, the ‘Locations > Eloy’ category shows the slider, but again without individual posts).

Hi,

Not sure how your would work as i haven’t experimented with this. You could give it a try although I suggest you use a plugin for this.
To use full width of the page you need to place the comments template inside a div container which uses the span12 class, like in this case without sidebar: http://screencast.com/t/QqlloLsZ6yD
If you really need to implement this in the theme without the use of a plugin I suggest you get some to help you with this as you need additional customization for this and we cannot provide custom work at this moment. Sorry!

Tags and categories missing the stylesheet - topic

I’ve noticed that both my tags and categories pages don’t have the correct style sheet attached to them. They aren’t rendering properly. I have already set the templates in the Theme panel. Here’s an example: http://www.savoredjourneys.com/category/food/

Custom template for specific category - reply

Hi,

Unfortunately the category page template can’t be built via VC page builder therefore you can’t use blocks there as blocks can be added via page builder only or as widgets on sidebars.
You could do this by alter the category template and adding a condition as “when category X is called” your custom layout and blocks load instead of the loop posts or besides them. You can use the do_shortcode() functions to add the block on the category page and customize them via VC page builder.
Other way would be to use the page builder and create the page using VC then add a menu item and set the custom page to it.
Either way this would not be easy and you’d need custom modifications to theme’s code so I suggest you get a freelancer or hire a developer to do this for you if you don’t know how to do it by yourself.

The category pages come from wordpress, we just used a template and some style to make them fit on the theme design. You could read about category templates here – http://codex.wordpress.org/Category_Templates
For the moment we don’t plan to change the behavior of the categories, if you need something else i suggest that you hire a professional to modify the code for you. We would have gladly made it for you but for the moment we cannot offer custom work, sorry for this.

Hi FiftyFifty,

When you updated the theme did you do it via FTP? If you did, it wont work properly.

As Chris suggested, you need to do the update as per his guide, even if you didn’t do it by FTP it’s worth going through it again just to be sure.

Add a new theme (any) to act as a temporary
Delete the old theme in wordpress back end
Delete the VC and social counter plugins
Clear all caches including browser
Disable all the other plugins
Reload the theme via wordpress uploader and activate
Upload the plugins manually from the theme download file not from the on screen message in the plugin page
Activate all plugins
Test again

If that doesn’t do it go back to the wp_booster/td_video_support.php file and check very carefully that you got all the http URL’s some are easy to miss. Chris had said don’t do the youtube shortlinks but I’ve done em all and it works still so I’m kinda hoping it hangs together for a minute.

In your post, don’t forget to tick “video” in format and select style 8 from the post templates, I use the full URL from youtube and enter it into the sidebar

If you are adding the video player block to the page you will have to fill in all of the fields and add a video to it for it to show correctly on the page, you don’t add the full URL though just the series of letters and numbers at the end part of the URL

If all of that fails you probably need to go to your hosting provider and ask them to add a php.ini file and switch on allow_url_fopen = on

After a whole day of trying to find out what was wrong I went back to the server people and asked them if the allow_url_fopen was set to on and he came back with this

“I placed some code in your public_html folders .htaccess file to make the php.ini file work”

Real helpful that…..

So it was in fact the server that was the problem but also the theme should shoulder part of the blame as it’s not configured for SSL and that isn’t made apparent when you buy the theme, I’d also like to add that while TagDiv support and Chris who I understand doesn’t work for TagDiv are very helpful none of the solutions to these basic problems are presented in a coherent way.

Searching several thousand questions on a forum isn’t the best bet because some of this stuff needs to really be done in an organised fashion. More documentation is probably needed and to be fair I will probably put something together to add to the forum just for people who are stuck with configuration and SSL issues but I’m no expert so could end up doing more harm than good?

Anyway, all is working so that at least one satisfied customer.

Borders not showing in sidebar for some pages - reply

HI,

first off all the CSS is working only if i use any widget from the template. But on the home page http://www.edurozrywka.pl i added widget form Event Manager plugin and the border is not visible. This widget is last one on the home page and it has the name POLECANE SZKOLENIA.

Smart scroll is not working on any other pages that home page and blog. Here are samples:

One more thing.. Is this also possible with the homepage? I’m using the big featured post from template 6 I believe and I have set it to “unique articles” on the page settings but the sidebar shows the featured homepage image. Is there a way to hide that as well?

I’ve added this module and block using the init-hook. The module then shows up inside the theme panel, e.g. categories. But “block 17” doesn’t appear inside the widget page. What am I doing wrong?

Another problem concerns the typography: Is it possible to change the h4 inside the block_title to h2?
