Hi,
Please make sure you have updated the required plugins not only the theme, from your theme package – https://forum.tagdiv.com/whats-included/ especially Visual composer – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/ Also if you use a child theme try disabling it to see if it affects the theme functionality and make any necessary adjustments if it does.
Thanks
Hi,
The developers decide what to update in the theme and what gets prioritized because there is a long list of fixes, improvements and suggestions to implement and it can not be done all at once. You can find the changelog of the latest theme version here – https://themeforest.net/item/newspaper/5489609 and you should consult it before any theme update as recommended here – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ As for the child theme, you will have to go through it carefully, verify the code and make the necessary adjustments. Any modification you made through the child theme will have to be tested with the new update because some elements from the theme may be subject to change, so it is not guaranteed to work with your previous customization.
Thank you for understanding
Hi,
Please follow these steps as they are explained in this update tutorial – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ The ftp process is the surest and the recommended method in this regard – https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/ Also remember to update the required plugins to the latest version.
Thanks
Hi Simion,
As you can see, when i select the Open Sans Condensed font, which was the one you used before the update, it is not displayed. The one that appears is not Open Sans Condensed. When you now consult the web this Open Sans (without Condensed). https://www.screencast.com/t/k9y83DOh
This is a capture of the configuration of the sources of the previous capture. The selected font is not matched with the one you see. https://www.screencast.com/t/yJfZrm317LMg
And here is how the header is when I select the option I had before the update. It seems that the logo is somewhat shifted to the right and is what makes the menu is not displayed correctly (when before it did)

Thanks

Hello,
actually using Newspaper theme v.7.6.1
Just after last update to current version, I’m trying to enter Ad in the header (style 3).
As I did before, without personalizations neither customizations, I loaded a jpeg image named rec728.jpg 728 x 90 px sized.
That worked.
Now no more.
What I’ve been able to understand is that now when uploading, the image is set in a folder different the one it was set in the previous theme version (/newspaper/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/rec728.jpg)
At now I do not have access via FTP neither via website hosting provider CPanel.
Is there a way to solve the problem? Thanks a lot

Hello – I accidentally updated the visual composer plugin to 5.0 and I see NewsMag is currently only compatible with 4.9x – Now Visual Composer doesn’t save any changes I make to it.
I redownloaded the theme package from ThemeForest and installed the composer plugin from that package but it’s version 5.0.
Can I get a previous version or a fix to this issue
I am waiting for the solution as well.
Let me know if you figure it out Bertel. Thank you.
TagDiv: Being the developer of such a big theme, we indeed expect spam banning solution by default from you guys. Adding recaptcha can be a great thing. Please consider this option in the future updates. Thank you.

Hello zcarmichael,
We recommend the FTP way because this is the surest method in this regard. For more information about this method, please consult here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/ and here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/

Hello Robotakis,
All the theme panel settings have been loaded in your database and you will not lose these if you will update the theme. Do this steps via FTP way because this is the surest method in this regard. For more information about this, please consult here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/

Hi guys,
I bought the theme back in August and haven’t updated it yet. I’ve just been nervous and didn’t want to lose or break my website. I’m running version 7.3, but feel it’s time to update it.
I’ve read that I need to backup the files in case something goes wrong, but how do I do that? Do I have to download a certain plugin in order to back it up?
I’ve watched this tutorial (https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=16&v=r0hNjfCve1E), and it sounds like it’s pretty easy… I was just wondering if you had any tips for a newbie like me that has never done this before. Also, I DON’t plan on doing it through FTP… just WordPress.
I look forward to your reply.
Best,
Justin
Hello whitehat,
Do you update the latest theme version? If you have not do it you should do it now because in the latest version of the theme, was introduced the option to disable logging section. Please notice that since now, if you will have a log-in on your website and if you do not have the https you will see the no-secure message. You should have the https. For more references about this regard, you should read the following information posted by Google, like this -> http://www.pcworld.com/article/3118164/security/google-chrome-to-start-marking-http-connections-as-insecure.html
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi,
The mobile theme comes with it’s own predefined template for pages, posts optimized for performance and speed and it is fully tested and working properly. I can not replicate your problem so I recomend you follow the advices suggested above and try to deactivate your plugins except Visual composer just as a test and clear your cache and purge cdn files if you use it, to see if the issue is still present. Also check any custom code you may have added to the theme panel or theme files. More information about the mobile theme here in the documentation – https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/ When activated you can not use any Visual composer element, because the mobile theme does not use this editor but you can use instead the mobile editor. If you want to display the same elements from desktop on mobile you can disable the mobile theme and use the theme’s responsive design and deactivate the plugin.
Visual composer does not need to be activated, it comes preactivated in the theme package – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/ and is updated with new theme releases. If none of the suggestions above produce any favorable results you can try and reinstall your theme or consider updating to the latest version – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ the theme and it’s plugins.
Thanks
Thanks Alin for the comment. Note that I upgraded from 7.5 to 7.6.1 so there may be some other reasons.
But there are chances that some third party plugin update may have caused the problem and I may not have noted it immediately after updating that plugin. I am observing the result by tweaking different things and if nothing helps, I will contact you at the email address you provided. Thanks again. BTW, the URL is http://mayapurvoice.com/svagatam
Hi Simion,
It probably happens what you’re saying, but I have not been able to see the way it shows up again.
The website is planetmountainbike.com. Right now I had to put another header to display the web correctly. Previously I used the header number 7, which is the one that after the update, did not show as before.
As for the fonts, I had already done what you said, but the result was still the same.
Thanks for your answer.

There is an old thread I started way back; then updated by others work looking at (someplace in forum … don’t have link handy). Some stuff I cleverly started with TUTORIAL to make them easier to find, others not so much 🙂
Note the best one to use is the one from Automattic, as that is from the people who actually make WordPress and they use the plugin for top-tier sites like Time.com, etc. — so we’ve been using it here since Nov. 2015, and works quite well.

Envato cannot update the VC plugin.
You need to update via FTP to have it done properly.
Hello. I recently did an update from 7.5 to 7.7 using the Envato Toolkit plugin. Everything looks good, but Visual Composer should have updated to the new versions 5.0.1. It says I still have 4.11 though — should this have updated or do I need to do something else? Thanks.
