We installed Newspaper 6 on the 16th on June. We also have the v3 of Social Counter.
Everything works except the Instagram counter that stays at 0.

We’ve seen the new update of Newspaper but we already have the 6th version. Shall we still update ? If yes, how should we proceed ? (We are beginners…)

Hello Alin, yes i did solved an hour later after submit support. The problem is kind of weird though. I tried to deactivate all the plugins and then i activate one by one to find out which plugins might be the issue. But hey, nothing comes to trouble after all plugins are activated. Hahaha.. But one thing i want to know.. Did i do the right thing by doing manual update from inside the rev slider admin area?
Because after updating to the version 5, my existing sliders become the background images.
Could you consider to make a more brief tutorial of how to update the plugins or others?
From the plugin author, i read the update tutorial.. But it again makes me confused.. Especially the step of backup and restore the. Css inside the revslider folder.

Okay…so am I correct in what I am seeing that I will need to reenter all the fonts, colors and redo all the widgets?
Is it also true that the visual composer frontend is not compatible with version 6?
Will future updates to this theme require that I jump through tons of hoops to get my site back to where it was initially?

Recently got round to updating my v4 site to v6.4 today. I’m working on a staged copy…
Full disclosure:
Went to maintenance mode and deleted the Theme folder (and the Child).
FTPed the new up and clicked the ‘import script’ which completed and told me to regenerate thumbnails.
(All regeneration failed – but that for another time.)
Updated plugins as requested…
The first thing I have noticed is that the default page layouts and custom fonts for example are all gone! That’s a real pain but not insurmountable, HOWEVER what is a problem is that I have lost the social counts (number of Tweets on posts etc) – I am effectively starting from zero as far as the outside world is concerned… this is very bad.
I suspect there may well be more, but that’s a deal breaker!

Theme’s blocks were designed to work on 1/3, 2/3 or 3/3 columns, and to be displayed fine on 1/4 columns it needs additional customization which involve custom work. Unfortunately we cannot offer custom work services at the moment as we work hard on the development, updates, fixes and support. You can always get a freelancer from sites like: http://studio.envato.com/ if you don’t know how to do it yourself.

Did you updated from version 4 of the theme? If you do please check this guide – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ and run the script to change the shortcodes, import your old settings. Please note that Newspaper 6 is practically a new theme and the old file customization and custom css will not work, you need to adjust it to this theme version.

That super cache plugin is rubbish it don’t cache ur site good,I don’t know why the support team will recommend that plugin to they clients,when that plugin first came out it was good since all the updates the plugin gone down hill…

I think you use different styles for this post, on the top image(6.3) it looks like style 1 and the bottom one(6.4) looks like the default post template.
Did you had any custom modifications to the code before the update? During the update the files are replaced and by this the custom code was lost.

Hi Alin, thank you for hints. Actually I have updated my WP to the latest version and everything worked quite good. I had been using WP-3.5. And now I upgraded to 4.3. and tested. VC and all others working now quite normal. And thank you guys for an awesome theme. It is making my life quite easy and enjoyable :).

I’ve been having this same problem since I updated my website to the last wordpress version.
First, the images from the library would not load when I wanted to make an article. If I wanted to access the media library, the images only appear on list mode, not grid mode.
I solved this problem disabling jetpack plugin.
Now I have the exact problem again but this time the plugin that causes this problem is visual composer and well… I can’t make anything without visual composer. If I disable it I can access the media library, but if I enable it, I can´t. Also, when it’s enable, it doen´t load any model.
Any suggestions?

OK so the explanation is that is block to 2 levels under.

Maybe you could put 5 instead of 2.

I think that the better way is to update via ftp, there is a video tutorial – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ I suspect this issue may be caused by folder/file permission setting.

I have updated the theme to version 6.4 and saw that theere are still images without alt tags. So please fix this issue as soon as possible. This mustn’t be so difficult to include it in an update.

Did you backup your site before update? Try to revert to the previous version and do a clean update via FTP – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ maybe it was an error when uploaded the theme?! I did not found any issues with the new theme version(I also updated on my side – local), widgets are displayed fine.
Also check this only with Visual Composer active, disable all other plugins and clear cache.
Do you have this issue only with widgets? Or also with Theme Panel settings?

I am using latest update of Newspaper theme – what can cause that Ajax is not working at all?
Search bar can not be opened, navigation menu too, what ever link I click like in category navigation in blocks does not load new set of news, and so on … it has to be some Ajax not loading issue on mobile … how to check, how to fix?

Good job, although i didnt say to use the full url, i was pointing out to use the username per docs, but there was no such user account.

I posted about my issue like month ago and there have been like 2 Newspaper theme updates, but this issue isn’t yet fixed..
I understand, that you have a lot of job to do, but it is really bad for me, if my site show different results in different sidebars and tables.. When can I expect this issue to be fixed?

“Pour sa dernière émission de l’année, Sylvain MIROUF nous a encore fait un tour exceptionnel !” is in H3 but appears like a normal paragraph.
Maybe you forgot to correct that in the last update! 🙂

I just spoke with a friend wich coding and we both don’t understand your answer.
The primary categorie feature is for article which have more than one end categories.
I undestand that.
But my concern is not that.
If you go for example on an article with only one end categories:

in admin, the only categories choosen is Lectures.
Lectures is a category under Articles/Critiques.
As you can see in the URL, all te structure is perfect: /articles/critiques/lectures/
But not for the breadcrumb: articles is missing!
Same thing for all articles in the site for ex: http://www.virtualmagie.org/articles/tours/techniques-de-magie/propriete-des-nombres-multiples-circulaires-de-daniel-peris/
For my point of view it is not logical and a bug.

I had just tried to update the theme via envato toolkit, and it showed me the following message:
Destination folder already exists. /srv/users/XXX/apps/YYY/public/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/

In admin theme/translation, I put the code <i class=”icon-cog”></i> in front of “Se connecter / S’enregistrer” but nothing appears on the site:
