Recently updated WordPress and Newspaper theme and the wpeditor is not loading. Just getting a spinning circle. I’ve contacted Bluehost and they were unable to address the issue.
Honestly, your theme is great but I can’t stand redoing the site every time you propose an update. Every time it’s the same thing, I have to redo ALL the templates and even worse : Now I have to make templates for the headers, and it doesn’t work !!! STOP that! Old template I’ve done do not want to load correctly it puts me random template, its does not respect the graphic charter in the backoffice, honestly I can not stand it anymore ! As soon as the site is clean, kaboom update that comes to fuck everything up … (header, sub menu, colors, etc…) So I’d like to get my site back and STOP freezing!!! it works, we don’t touch anymore!

I have a problem since update 11,3,1 came out. Although the thema is registered correctly, the site displays an image with the license key written not registered for this site on the front end, while in the beck end it is registered correctly.

It is a miscommunication between our system and the Envato API that caused it. This is why you can never trust an automated process and this is an exact reason why we are against any type of automatic update be it for the theme, WordPress, or plugins.

I mean, When I Am Updating it to Latest Version, 11.3.1 It says, your Code is Invalid, Something Like That..:
@player1 this is pathetic, to say the least. Like @jkp said, defacing a website and making it seem like I have a fraudulent website to all my readers is beyond a “mild inconvenience”, it’s spitting on our faces and completely undermining our hard work with our respective websites (not to mention the fact that we PAID for the theme). This theme was chosen by us for its practicability, perhaps because it looks good or works well on mobile… It was supposed to save us time.
I sure am window shopping for a new theme after this blunder. The uncertainty that tagdiv has put around this theme makes me have to worry about something I shouldn’t – we all shouldn’t – have to worry about.
Instead of making updates to “pretty” the theme up – some unnecessary -, what about making sure something like this doesn’t happen anymore? Or that this only happens for those that are using a pirated version of the theme?
It’s beyond anything normal to have to pay for something and be called a “thief”.
Certainly the first and last time.
Does that even answer my question? I already know what you’ve linked to. I’m asking if there is any workaround to stop the extra thumbs for the mobile theme? Like in different Flex Boxes, I can always use the same image size despite different widths etc. of the boxes. The best way could be where you modify the mobile theme blocks and add the option where images are auto-selected from default images. This will require code changes, and you should either consider providing in any update or explain where that code is in the theme files.

Please make sure you have the latest version of the WordPress, theme, plugins(11.3.1) and all the requirements are done as you can see here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
If your settings from the theme panel are missing and you use default templates, then please make sure you have Standard pack plugin installed and active.
If that problem is still there, then please execute these steps:
1. disable TagDiv Composer
2. uninstall(delete) TagDiv Composer
3. clear cache (if cache plugin exists)
4. install TagDiv Composer
5. activate TagDiv Composer
6. clear cache (if cache plugin exists)
Sometimes, the issue can be from a plugin conflict or a cache issue, that’s why, please deactivate ALL plugins except tagDiv ones, also if you are using a cache plugin, deactivate it, clear all cache (also from your browser) and try again.

If you are still facing this issue, Please update the theme to the latest version – Newspaper 11.3.2. The latest updated takes down the DRM automated system, and deletes the image. The update is fixing and prevents this issue from happening in the future. The update is already available for you as free download from your themeforest.net account.

The Newspaper theme verifies your license key with the Envato API. If you already have a license activated on your website yet the website displays the notice LICENSE KEY IS NOT REGISTERED please follow the steps below:
- First please make sure the theme is activated with the license key from your Envato Themeforest account https://tagdiv.com/how-to-activate-the-newspaper-theme/
- In case that you use a custom wp-login link, please disable tagdiv composer plugin using FTP or cPanel, in this way you will have access to the custom wp-login link. After you login, you need to activate the tagdiv Composer to reset the license.
- If the theme was activated, please reset the theme activation from the Theme Panel – > System Status https://i.imgur.com/7Ktmd1e.png and clear the cache.
- If there is a problem or the issue remains, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and we will provide a solution.

Reset has not worked for us either! Our website still shows the silly fake message you have implemented. Please roll back the update asap and do more tests before pushing it out!!!
We also have the same problem and this is absolutely ridiculous! We have thousands of readers and to find out they are seeing this message, when in fact we do have a licence is crazy! We believe this will have serious consequences on our brand name, and we are willing to go court for damages caused. You really ought to get some thorough testing done before pushing out updates for pure greed.
Our solution was to de-activate / de-register the lincese in the website and to re-activate again.
This is the 3rd time we experience mayor problems with the theme and update.
So we will get rid of your theme. This should never occur. In any way.
We had to change the theme and set it to Under construction otherwise your theeme
shouted a commercial page with announcement that the theme is not registered and needed updates. This could not be undone, unless we changed the theme.
We find this act disgusting. And you can see that we have 2 licences, 1 activated the other not used. It is a mess.

Updating to WordPress 5.8.2 has cause a message of “unregistered theme” to pop up, substituting my real homepage. In 2 different websites where I had the newspaper installed. I fixed it by resetting the key.
However, given that I had automatic WordPress updates on and that it happened during the European night, that message had been there for a few hours.
Even though I have bought, not one, but TWO licenses, you have called me a THIEF AND A PIRATE on my own homepage.
I don’t even care about the lost revenue over this time. The hit to my reputation between my clients and my visitors has been IMMENSE. Your incredibly sloppy programming has shattered the perception of my sites as trustworthy.
Everyone can understand a bug. But this kind of aggressive behaviors, given the impact they cause, should be thoroughly checked and checked and checked.

Yes, I’m very embarrassed at the message they have on my website right now. Make me seem cheap and fraudulent when I bought and keep this thing updated exactly how I should. I’ve re-activated my theme with the purchase code and at first it says everything is activated. But then it still says “UNREGISTERED” at the top. Part of me wants to buy a new license just to see if that would work instead, but I don’t want to give more money to something this screwed up. Will likely be thinking of a whole new website redesign with a new theme so I don’t have to deal with this BS again.

It really pisses me off that the website is not only down but there’s this basically defamatory message on there that I have some pirated copy of the theme. WTF? I bought it fair and square here, have it hooked into my WordPress CMS for updates. I don’t even know if I want to keep this theme anymore. Screw this shit.
Happened to me. Appears to be associated with the WordPress update today. I had to reset the registration key (under system status) and then re-enter my purchase code. Everything is now back to normal. I understand though this has not worked for everyone.
