@SPAREGmbH So you are having crashes after the update? Are there any specific errors displayed, or does it happen in specific cases? It could happen due to low wp-memory, we recommend 256M if possible. Also does it happen if you only activate he theme plugins, and theme recommended plugins?

All the shortcodes appear because you haven’t updated / activte the tagDiv Composer. Here is the guide on how to update the Newspaper Theme : https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/

Please make sure you follow all the stepts and after updating the theme you will activate the plugins.

Also make sure to first delete the old Newspaper theme and plugins and only after that install the new one !

That could be done in two ways. The first one and how it should be done, is to use a cloud header template – https://cloud.tagdiv.com/#/load/Headers
Import one and modify it or create your own, these can be built with the composer so you can add as many header logos as you want – http://prntscr.com/old9vi each with their own image and URL. Here is a guide for the cloud library plugin

The second one would be to edit the default header template files, these are supposed to display only one logo. They can be modified in a child theme (after the 9.7.4 update) so you can copy the one you want and modify it.
For example header style 1, copy it from here – http://prntscr.com/olddbm
To here – http://prntscr.com/olde07
Then you can modify it to display another logo, something simple would work but it depends on the header used

Additional CSS may be required in order to make this display and work correctly.

Please notice that the Newspaper v9.7.4 is the last version of the theme in order to install it you’ll need to deactivate all plugins and activate theme back only after the update is made, also if you have a child theme, you’ll need to use the one from the last package -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-child-theme-support-tutorial/
Please make sure that you do not have a plugin conflict with untested plugins, please deactivate all non theme, also if you are using child theme, clear all cache and try again.

Be sure to update and activate the composer after each update, if it’s deactivated there will be shortcodes displayed inside pages. The most important thing after you update is to update the plugins. There will be update buttons for each of them in the theme plugins panel here – http://prntscr.com/olcffv

Previously the composer would update itself, but this is not allowed anymore. So it will have to be done manually.

That would be the relatively new wordpress Gutenberg editor, introduced officially in the WordPress 5 update

If you do not want to use, wordpress provides a classic editor plugin that will disable it

Once you install it Gutenberg will be disabled and replaced by the classic editor, the plugin also provides a few options here

I have checked your website and I saw that you are using the Smart List 2 for your post articles and mobile theme functionality. Please note that plugin change the style of the theme on mobile and that’s why you bring another layout than the desktop version. The mobile theme plugin has been designed to be very fast and that’s why the layout is different. Checking your source page, I saw that you are using the Newspaper 9.7.3 which is not the latest version of our theme. In the latest update, was introduced a new option that allows you to turn off the Mobile Theme for a specific page if you do not want to use it on that. Currently it is still the same, the widget sidebar won’t be available in the composer when WPBakery is active. However this will change in the coming theme update. The sidebar elements will be available regardless of WPBakery.

Depends on the type of post template used. If for example you use a cloud post template

Then you can simply drag and drop the author box element in the location you want, like below the post content element – http://prntscr.com/olbj5h
These cloud templates can be edited with the composer – https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-cloud-library-plugin/ so it is easier to customize them.

On the other hand, if you use a default post template – https://forum.tagdiv.com/design-post-pages-using-default-templates/
Then you could copy the template in the child theme and customize it (this is possible starting from theme update 9.7.4).
For example if you want to do this for post template 2, copy it in the child theme from the composer plugin (create the same directory path to the files as in the composer then copy both the single and loop-single)

Then move the author box code below the content code and it should appear as you want.

Since you have a tone of option in the new versions you can achieve everything you want only by Theme panel options. Since 9.7.4 you can use the fully capacity of child theme. But if there will be a future update where we are obligated to change the files structure then you will have to redo all the modifications. But those are rare cases.

So if you can, you can stick only to the basic theme. If you really need then you can use child theme freely.
