I have accessed your site but could not see the problem. the sidebar does indeed go smaller below 1018 px as tablets do not have enough space to display the full sidebar width. It is a css rule added to make sure the sidebar and content display properly on tablets but i could not see it getting smaller when scrolling to the bottom. please let us know if you still have this issue.
If you do, in most cases such issues are plugin conflicts so please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it.

If the system status was not the cause of it please also try it without any plugins. Disable all of theme except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it.
If the problem is still there, please regenerate all thumbs using the “force regenerate” plugin
Another possible fix is adding "SetEnv MAGICK_THREAD_LIMIT 1" to the htaccess file.

Please keep in mind that you do not have any problem with your homepage layout. I have inspected your website and I saw that you are using the Mobile Theme plugin which has an own layout for Mobile mode than without it. Perhaps you ‘re used to the responsiveness mobile layout and now when you have installed our new concept for the mobile mode you have noticed that difference, right? Please notice that our mobile theme intend to display the Big Grid at the top of the home page which is sorted by Featured Category, then some text if it will be added from Mobile Editor in Visual Composer and the Latest Articles module from the bottom of the page. Let me try to explain better. There is no setting to change the color of the category tag in our theme. the element is added across the whole site.
you can use a css code to change it;s color, but it will change the color for ALL category tags on your site to the same color. This is the code you need to add in the theme panel-> custom css box for this to haoppen:
.td-post-category{
background-color:red!important;
}

Now if you want to go further in depth and only target a specific block, let;s say I want to target my first block on the page and not any other one. i can access the back-end of the page in visual composer: http://screencast.com/t/3X6PF4Vl

We do this as you can only add an extra css class on a row, not on a particular block.
now we access row settings and assign a class name. you can name it anything. I will name mine: custom_class:

I see you use version 7.2 of newspaper. We only tested 7.3 so please update your theme to the latest version by following this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ and make sure you up-date visual composer as well: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/

Please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. then test the grid again. The grid on our end does not behave in such a way so there is something on your end affecting it.

The latest version of the theme is Newspaper 7.3 and the latest version of the plugins are 4.1 for Social Counter and 4.12 for Visual Composer and not 4.6… please update your Visual Composer! Also, please notice that all of these updates should have to be made via FTP because this is the surest method in this regard. 1) there is no theme setting for this but it can be done with a css trick. Add this code in the theme panel->custom css box:
.td_block_4 .entry-title a{
pointer-events:none!important;
}
And if you want to remove the hover color you can also ad this code:

.td_block_4 .td_module_wrap:hover .entry-title a{
color:initial!important;
}

It is related to the site background. If you want to have a full width header and footer, yopu need to remove any background image or color (white counts too) You need top press the clear button for the background color and remove the background image.

3) The site width cannot be altered. Our theme was built on a fixed width and there is no simple way of changing it as all the theme elements depend on this fixed width.

4) The category tag color can only be changed with css. For this you need to add an extra class on the row that contains the block in visual composer and then use the class in this css code like so:

.mycustomclassname .td_block_4 .td-post-category{
background-color:Red;
}
