Hi,
This issue with disappearing images can be caused by 2 things that result in the same conflict. A javascript error. It can be a conflicting plugin or a custom modification you made. In madeyoulookstudio’s case it was a custom code added in the theme panel that broke the js. Please check your custom code either in the main theme or the child theme or find the conflicting plugin.
Thanks.
Hi,
Unfortunately css cannot do this. It does not detect the category of the post. for this you will need coding skills and conditions added in the theme files in PHP. If you do not have the proper coding knowledge for this, you can hire a freelancer from sites like studio.envato.com
Thank you!
Hi,
Unfortunately there is no update proof method of adding custom code. If you altered the theme files, you will need to back-up your modification and re-apply it after the update. In order to update, please use this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ and also make sure you update visual composer and social counter by following this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
Thank you!
Hi,
Our theme does come with demo content. If you updated to newspaper 7, you will have lots of demos to chose from. A demo is a theme ‘skin’ or style. You can see these demos here: http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/ (right side of the screen: http://screencast.com/t/g1RYxMBIy) In order to install demo content along with the demo like so: https://forum.tagdiv.com/installing-demos/
Thank you!
Hi,
Do you by any chance use a child theme? Please revert to the main theme if you so. Alternatively you can try this without any plugins to rule out a plugin conflict. Disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files. If the problem is still there, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide wp-admin so we can login and inspect this issue.
Thank you!
Hello,
The block you pointed out is a block 24 on the cars blog demo. If you want to have the style you must install the cars blog demo as every demo has it’s specific custom made style.
This is how block 24 looks like by default: http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-24/
Thank you!
Hi,
If pages are the ones you want to target, you can create the sidebar directly on the page itself in visual composer. Simply split the row on a 2/3 + 1/3 columns like so: http://screencast.com/t/4FrBwQ6hu
This is how our content is created. Alternatively, you can use default sidebar by following this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/sidebars-tutorial/
Thank you!
Hi,
In order to remove the specific theme information from the theme, you will have to alter the theme files. There is no setting for this in our theme. You will have to do a search for “newspaper” or “tagdiv” and see where the name shows up and if it can be changed or removed.
Thank you!
Hi,
In order to use functions.php in the child theme , it will require coding skills in order to change the priority as I exemplified above. If you cannot do it, then don;t use the child theme for functions.php. Add your code in the main theme or hire a freelancer to help you insert your custom code. You can hire a developer from sites like studio.envato.com
Thank you!
Hi,
You can use this method to reset the theme settings to their default and set the template as a global post template from the theme panel:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/change-style-of-multiple-posts-at-once/ and set post style 5 from here: http://screencast.com/t/YzeCcN4rb
Now the default post template will be style 5 so for new posts you will have to select your desired style when you create it as it will also get post style 5 by default.
Thank you!
Hi,
I have checked your website and the ads seem to render properly: http://screencast.com/t/VXhoN0qqGF and http://screencast.com/t/VSfALuj5G7Gj The article bottom ad seems to get a smaller version for the content. please use these dro-down menus and select your desired ad dimensions or chose responsive ads from google: http://screencast.com/t/4eEaLsaQR07. Please note that a 727 x 90 will not work in a content ad if you use a sidebar as the content is only 696 px wide.
Thank you!
Hello,
The blockquotes font size can be changed from the theme panel: http://screencast.com/t/q4GIAaAA
Thank you!
Hello,
The fonts section of the theme panel offers options for every part of the website. You need to identify the parts of the site you want to change. For pages or categories, if you want to change the blocks and module fonts, you need to use these settings: http://screencast.com/t/NJndLshK You can see a list here of what block uses what module: http://screencast.com/t/uX6luQWb
Thank you!
Hi,
The ad spot does not render shortcodes. It was meant to render ads. If you plan on using adsense, you can simply paste in the adsense code directly but without alteration. If you use other ads, then you need to use this method: https://forum.tagdiv.com/using-other-ads-non-adsense-ads/
Thank you!
Hello,
You can change the ALL name from block settings here: http://screencast.com/t/W0XIxgf5hu
Thank you!
Hi,
Please use the theme translation from the theme panel here: http://screencast.com/t/5KjehH0fw
Thank you!
Hello,
We do provide assistance with issues and bugs but this is not a theme related issue. Custom code that has to be added to the theme files falls under customization, not theme related issues or bugs. Here is our support policy: https://forum.tagdiv.com/support-policy-2/
I would gladly help if there was another easier way of doing it, but please understand that we are a small team and we have to answer to everyone. We cannot allow the time needed to make customization for customers. We are sorry for the inconvenience. The solution if you have the first images set as featured is to use post style 5 for your older posts and there will not be any duplicate images.
Thank you!

Hi,
I cannot provide a time frame for this unfortunately as like you said it’s not an easy fix and there are many implications for it. I cannot say for sure when we will fix it. We hope we can come up with a solution quickly to dodge other theme elements as they are all ‘tied together’ and changing one thing affects the other. SOrry for the inconvenience caused by this and we will do our best to fix this as soon as possible.
Thank you!
Hello,
Unfortunately custom post type support is still limited with our theme. We do try to improve it on every major update. At the moment the theme has no options like the one you mentioned. I will add this to our list for future updates and hopefully we will be able to implement such a feature.
Thank you!
Hi,
I tested this and translations work as expected : http://screencast.com/t/BWabuij4WkC – http://screencast.com/t/kBoEsy8FcF – http://screencast.com/t/KKf4sV4sd0G
Please try to clear your caches and check the translations again.
Thank you!
Hi,
Unfortunately visual composer was not tested on posts. You can use the plugin directly on posts if you activate it from the settings like you showed above and add the tabs. I;m not sure about the implementation method though. You can add elements to posts directly once you activate the plugin for posts. There is no ned to copy over the shortcodes, but like I said above, this is not tested and can provide mixed results. If your implementation method works, there is no wrong way of doing it.
Thank you!
Hi,
Sometimes plugins can conflict with each other not only a conflict between the plugin and the theme. Please deactivate all other plugin except visual composer and SEO Yoast and test it again. Yoast has been tested and is the recommended SEO plugin to use with our theme. If you still get errors, please provide an example of what these errors are and a link to your site so we can insect it.
Thank you!
