For the travel demo image, you cannot decide exactly what part of the image will show. You will have to use an image that has the appropriate dimensions. aprox: 1920 x 815.
Your image is nowhere near that aspect ratio and that size. Please use an image at least 1000 px wide and at least 500 px heigh. (but not too high, as it needs to be wide).

Actually there are updates regarding the new version of wp 4.5 (4.5.1 has no known issues) and updates to visual composer and social counter. Please download the latest version of the theme from envato and then use this guide to update your theme and plugins:

Everything is set from the theme panel, no custom code was involved so clearly on your end there are other factors affecting this. Please try to restore the theme to it;s defaults. Try on a testing sub-domain and try it without plugins or minification to see how it displays in the theme’s default state.

Unfortunately the plugin is not tested and we have no idea of its functionality. Plugin implementation unfortunately is not covered by support as if a plugin does not work out of the box, it’s rarely the case in which the implementation can be added easy.
As I can see in the faq section there is also a shortcode implementation that you can maybe use in the post files:

Unfortunately we have not tested amazon links so we have no idea how they should work. Generally you can add html or js in a textbox in text mode (not visual mode) If it does not work, then try it on a standard page in a text block and see if it works there. You will have to test this out yourself.
please also try it without plugins as these can interfere as well. Disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files.

Please provide a link to your site so we can inspect it and figure out why your images do not show. I suspect a plugin issue. Not all plugins are compatible with premium themes. Please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it.

Please make sure your images are big enough to fit the containers and then let the theme cropping system work it’s magic. There should not be any white or grey boxes in your thumbnails.
