Hello manoj.yadav
I see you removed the meta information on that block but you forgot to remove the DIV element that contained it that’s why you have white space there:
Use this CSS code:
.td_module_mx7 .td-module-meta-info{
display:none
}
As for the description length, that is set from the theme panel in Excerpts: (this particular block is block 16)
excerpt: http://screencast.com/t/2TGWayLLNf
You can read more in our documentation: https://forum.tagdiv.com/excerpts-introduction/
I hope this helps.
Thank you!
Hello mihab,
Your site title displays fine: http://screencast.com/t/kkLvS0KTG
If you are referring to the page title, it can be set from visual composer: http://screencast.com/t/9AjmyfYauj
If this is not what you mean, please provide more details (about the tagline as well) so we can better understand how to help.
Thank you!
Hi,
The updates are provided by us via the theme package, we try to deliver the latest versions with each update. The plugins are located in the ../Newspaper-tf/plugins folder – http://screencast.com/t/2Ri75hQV
In the case of Revolution Slider you have to
1. export your current sliders before you update
2. delete the current plugin and install the latest version
3. import the sliders saved on step one
For more details please check their official documentation – http://www.themepunch.com/faq/update-plugin-packaged-theme/
Revolution Slider and Visual Composer come with bulk license, this means that the plugins can only be distributed with the theme and only we can provide updates for them. You cannot update them directly from their developer.
Thank you!
Your suggestion was added on our list and we hope in a future update we will be able to implement a switch for the filter box in our theme panel.
Thank you
Hello Nadeem,
I have tested ads on sidebar using shortcodes and it works for banner ads and adsense. you can create a simple textbox in visual composer and add your shortcode there:
http://screencast.com/t/K5qoxsg2z – http://screencast.com/t/YzAvo678F50
You can also use the plugin method PatWire sugested. AdRotate is tested and works fine with our theme.
Thank you.
Hi,
Every browser has an inspector. Right click on your website and select: Inspect element. There you will see a ‘console’ button. Here is an example for firefox: https://developer.mozilla.org/en/docs/Tools/Web_Console
This console shows you any errors you might have on your site.
Thanks
Hello dthreatt,
You can use the video playlist element in visual composer for youtube and vimeo: http://screencast.com/t/yTMHC2afA.
You can read more in our documentation: https://forum.tagdiv.com/video-playlist-2/
Thank you.
Hello Habhajan,
You can filter a block’s category from visual composer: http://screencast.com/t/mWQN8GWZz
You can chose which category to show upon different blocks.
You can read more about block settings in our documentation:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-tutorial/
Thank you!
Hello,
I’m just guessing you mean the category titles on blocks.
http://screencast.com/t/N7xxR6UNEN
They can be removed from the block settings: http://screencast.com/t/TXkLzAuI
If this is not what you mean, please provide more details to your problem.
Thanks
Hi,
Please provide more details, because i can’t figure out the problem.
Thank you
Hello steventsakanikas,
The title you are seeing is actually not a title at all, but a ‘news ticker’ element: http://screencast.com/t/qTWhAjG9Qy
When you set-up the page, you can find it in visual composer: http://screencast.com/t/plMUFwmsH.
As for the “smart tabs”, that is called a mega menu: you can read about it in our documentation here https://forum.tagdiv.com/mega-menu/
Thank you
Hello ,
You can edit your homepage in visual composer and use different blocks to display posts.
In the demo you will see the types of blocks you can use: http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-1/
Just add them in visual composer: http://screencast.com/t/neC5EpSW6
You can find useful information in our documentation: https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-tutorial/
Thank you!
Hi,
Please make sure that you use the latest version of Social Counter. To make sure please deactivate and delete it – http://screencast.com/t/IBddMaEHhq and install it from – http://screencast.com/t/nChxmG4W6I
Also check this without any plugins active except of Visual Composer and Social Counter, clear cache and see if you still have this issue. If the issue persist try to add a different id(fb, twitter..) see if the counter works then re-add your id so you will refresh it.
Let me know how it goes!
Thanks!
Hello sejpost,
Featured images are handled different in our theme. You can read more about them here:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/featured-image-or-video/
https://forum.tagdiv.com/featured-image/
Unfortunately there is no option in the theme to grab the first image as a featured one. You can maybe use a plugin for that, but keep in mind that not all of them have been tested with our theme and some of them might cause problems.
Chris found a solution in an older topic.
https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/automatic-thumbnails/
I hope it works for you too.
Thank you.
Hello davidtiquet,
As i understand you need to use the “your latest posts” homepage which uses the index.php file but with a different layout, one resembling newsmag homepage. This requires some custom modifications which we cannot provide. But i can point you in the right direction:
You will need a bit of PHP knowledge to do this.
You can use a function: <?php echo do_shortcode(''); ?> in your index.php file below the like so: http://screencast.com/t/D092zLsbJtq. (You need to add it to that specific container or it will lose its styling.)
Inside the shortcode function you will place the visual composer shortcodes you see in classic mode: http://screencast.com/t/g0C1VpiMWA – http://screencast.com/t/g0C1VpiMWA.
It should llok like this: <?php echo do_shortcode('[vc_row][vc_column][td_block_2][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][td_block_15][/vc_column][/vc_row]'); ?>.
This will bring the blocks from visual composer to your index page.
I hope this helps.
Thank you!
Hello,
Sometimes plugins can create all kinds of problems. Please try to disable all of your plugins except visual composer(it is required by the theme) and try to create a new post or page.
You can also check the site console for errors using your browser inspector.
Let us know if the problem is still there
Thank You!
Hello Vermino
Unfortunately there is no option for this in the theme, but you can achieve this with a bit of custom css you can add in the theme panel:
.single-product
.td-more-articles-box{
display:none;
}
This hides the more articles box on single products.
Thank you!
Not all the files and folders. The child theme requires just a few of them: read our documentation for more info: https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-child-theme-support-tutorial/.
If you are also talking about an update, then yes if it’s a major update and the theme will be rebuild, then yes, all the files will be rewritten. (It happened in the current version. Version 6 is a totally different theme than Version 4)
Thank you
Hello Gadget Friendly,
You have to be careful with these types of modifications as they can create other problems:
Your menu, when viewed on a tablet or mobile phone, gets wacky:
http://screencast.com/t/sbFOZvc4jNf
I’ve patched things up a bit with this code:
.top-header-menu li a {
line-height: 4;}
.td_data_time {
position: relative;
bottom:10px;}
.td-header-style-12 .td-header-top-menu-full{
height: 50px;}
It’s a temporary solution. You have to revisit your code and set it properly because right now things are all over the place.
In order to fix it on other types of screens you have to use media queries: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/CSS/Media_Queries/Using_media_queries
I hope this helps and points you in the right direction.
Thank you.
Hello Pandian,
The theme does not have a sitemap option but you can use Yoast plugin which has been tested and works with our theme. You can follow this link here for more info: https://yoast.com/wordpress-seo/#xmlsitemaps
Thank you.
Hello AngOst,
If you are referring to the titled shown in the browser tabs, our theme does not control them but a quick solution would be to use a plugin named SEO by Yoast wich is able to control them.
link here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wordpress-seo/
Your posts show up in every block because they show the latest posts by default. If you only have a few posts, they will appear all over the website.You can add categories or tags to your posts so you can have more control over them. You can filter posts on blocks like so: https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-tutorial/
You can also read other topics in our documentation , i’m sure you will find it very useful.
Thank you
Hello Green Monkey,
Unfortunately those classes are not going to work with our theme because each developer defines his own CSS classes. They are not used global. You have to identify the specific classes of our theme elements you want to customize.
Thank you
Hello gomerblog,
The social icons were set to have a transparent background, so they will inherit the footer background. There is no option from the panel to change their color but you can use a custom css to do it:
.td-social-style-2 .td-icon-font {
background-color: red;
}
I set it to red as an example. You can set a different one if you like.
Thank you.
Hello spacelabs,
The first thing you can do is to save your permalinks so they will be regenerated from settings->permalinks:
http://screencast.com/t/RA6nqhG5CEr2.
Secondly try to disable any other plugins that did not come with the theme to see if one of them is problematic.
If the problem persists, please provide more details so we can closer inspect the issue.
Thank you.
