Hi,

The super cache plugin has a setting to prevent the issue you mention from happening, please make sure it is active -> https://i.imgur.com/LyNdtD3.png Clear the cache if you have to activate it.

However, I believe you are also using another cache, the one provided by the siteground hosting -> https://www.siteground.com/tutorials/wordpress/sg-optimizer/supercacher/

So despite installing the super cache and configuring it correctly, there is another cache active, so the issue isn’t solved.

I suggest checking the siteground cache configuration, mainly activating a setting mentioned in the siteground tutorial -> https://i.imgur.com/cQLUcHr.png

Then clear all the caches, and the issue should not happen anymore. Let me know.

Thank you!

Hi,

Normally the predominant color throughout the website, including for links, is the theme accent color set in the theme panel https://i.imgur.com/2qHmmeI.png
You could change that to what you want a different color than what is set now, which is this color https://i.imgur.com/Df2CCWq.png

Or perhaps you don’t want to change the accent color for various reasons, like wanting to change the color only for some elements, or in specific places. Then it can be done with some CSS, but those specific elements or locations will have to be targeted directly. It has to be known what elements those are and where they are or else the code may affect other unwanted elements. The code from above is more general, it affects mostly ever link everywhere in the post page.

Let me know.

Thank you!

Hi,

That would be a very unusual thing to happen. Could you provide some examples from the website so I can check them?

I see some post titles that contain apostrophes, but they look fine, for example in the post page https://i.imgur.com/PHRxJUx.png or in modules https://i.imgur.com/3FwKYdp.png

Let me know.

Hi,

There can be some layout issues when using cloud post templates, and the WPBakery plugin is active on the website. I see the WPBakery plugin is active on your website.

Please note that the WPBakery plugin is optional, and not required in any way. Or are you using it for something perhaps? If you do, and you cannot deactivate it to solve the problem, please let me know and I will provide a solution for the layout.

Thank you!

Hi,

The module files can be customized in a child theme, but files from the wp_booster folder cannot be unfortunately.
If you have to modify the td_module_single_base file, it will have to be done in the main composer file directly.

If I may ask, what modifications are you planning to do? Maybe there are other ways of doing it, perhaps without making modifications to the files. Let me know.

Thank you!

Hi,

I have checked the key associated with this forum account, and from what I see it has not been used to activate the theme so far. Have you activated the theme with the key?

Both themes can be activated with the key like so -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/newspaper-6-how-to-activate-the-theme/

Or is there a problem when trying to activate the theme? If there is a problem, I suggest sending us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and there please provide a link to the website and admin login. We will check the issue.

Thank you!

Hi,

The option should still be there. If you have a mobile page set for the homepage for example, it can be edited with the composer from multiple places:

From the frontend -> https://i.imgur.com/Htcf0oT.png
From the pages screen -> https://i.imgur.com/ybyzE11.png
From the cloud library dashboard -> https://i.imgur.com/iF6bWJ8.png

I believe you are using a mobile page for the homepage. Do none of these methods work if you try them? That would be unusual. But if that is the case, I will take a closer look at this problem. Please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login for the website.

Thank you!

Hi,

You could try what I suggested in this case. The solution I mentioned above will limit the featured image container to a maximum of 1000px, center it, and will add a border on the sides so that the new width integrates better with the design.

This way you can keep using the respective images as they are, get rid of the bar on the side, and maintain the overall design of the post template.

The code is here – https://pastebin.com/pAJQGAsX
Enter it in the theme panel custom CSS section – https://i.imgur.com/7UJyAjQ.png

You could give it a try. If there is a problem after using it, let me know, provide a link to the website where I can see it. I tested it on my test install and it works fine there.

Thank you!

Hi,

I will take a look, I suggest sending us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and there please provide a link to the website, admin login, also access to cPanel or similar will most likely be needed. Let me know.

Hi,

It will fit, but there will be some remaining space on the side.

Post templates for example like this https://demo.tagdiv.com/newsmag/my-girlfriend-has-exhausted-our-strategic-supply-of-string-cheese/

The width there is 1021px. If the original image is smaller, there will be remaining space on the side https://i.imgur.com/VZq2dZi.jpg
Post templates 4,5,8 require an image of at least 1021px.

Maybe I could provide a solution if you use such a template. Something like reducing the image container to a max of 1000px, and adding borders left/right, it would look like this

View post on imgur.com

This way a 1000px image would display better. Would you consider this a solution? Also, what post template are you using exactly?

Let me know.

Thank you!

Hi,

That code should affect only images that are set to be aligned to the left. does it create problems when you try it? Please let me know if it does, I will take a look.

If needed it could be made more specific perhaps, I will try. Which image are you referring to? The one you mentioned before?

Let me know.

Thank you!

Hi,

The “Custom Title” field is where the title text has to be entered.

The “Title tag SEO” is for the HTML tag of the title text. By default it is will be a h4, but we added a few choices to set a different heading or a simple div.

What is unusual is that I noticed that the title tag setting appears twice

This looks like a bug, normally there should be only 1 setting, as it is one title. I will add this on our issue list.

Let me know if you have more questions.

Help - reply

Hi,

Without importing a demo you will have to create a homepage with the composer and set it. And also you will have to set the templates yourself in the theme panel, for posts, categories, etc. It is perfectly possible to create a website without importing a demo, it just takes more time.

A demo will provide a homepage, and also set templates. Besides this, it usually imports some design in a separate stylesheet.
It will be much easier to begin by importing a demo and then customizing it as you want. Start with any of them https://demo.tagdiv.com/select_demo/select_demo_newsmag/ and then make modifications to it. Choose the one that looks the closest to the result you are looking for.

Either way, we will help. Let us know if you have questions.

Hi,

I see AMP is used on the website, and all mobile visitors are redirected to the AMP version.

In this case, in the AMP version, the sharing buttons don’t work in the same way as in the responsive version or when using the mobile theme alone. Using the share buttons in the AMP version will indeed not open a new window/tab, they will open in the same one, or with the social applications if they are installed on the mobile.

I can’t provide a solution for this unfortunately. I could add this on our list, maybe it can be done, but I can’t promise anything unfortunately.

Thank you!

Hi,

There can be other cases why WhatsApp doesn’t share the post correctly. The rest of the socials all have debugging tools, WhatsApp does not. Normally the issue is with the size of the images, in case the image is not displayed when sharing. But there can be other issues.

I checked a post from the website, Facebook sees the image

View post on imgur.com

Twitter as well https://i.imgur.com/h8Pqyt4.png

But trying it with WhatsApp, there is no image when sharing this post.

The og image meta tag is in the page https://i.imgur.com/WbzC5kO.png
And it is not too large. All the other socials use it, besides WhatsApp. I cannot explain why this happens however. The theme would have nothing to do with the sharing. Yoast loads the og meta tags, and the socials use them.

I had a similar case recently, everything was in order on the website, same as here, but still the WhatsApp share would not work consistently. For some posts it worked and for others it did not. I tried various suggestions found online https://stackoverflow.com/questions/19778620/provide-an-image-for-whatsapp-link-sharing And I tried with a default WordPress theme as well.
But no definite solution was found so far. If I would have a solution, I would gladly provide it.

Thank you!

Hi,

That depends, which social sharing button are you referring to? Pressing the sharing buttons on mobile may open the mobile apps, to share the post. For example pressing the WhatsApp sharing button will open the WhatsApp app.

Could you provide an example of the problem you mention? I will check, let me know.

Thank you!

Hi,

It looks fine now, I checked the website. Without the composer the website would indeed display incorrectly, it would be all shortcodes.

I would suggest considering to update the theme, that is quite an older version you are using on the website, almost 4 years old. We can discuss more if you have questions.

Thank you!

Hi,

I think the theme positions it centered on mobile, for some reason. I will try to recreate this case on my test install. There must be a reason why it is like this.

I can provide a quick fix for it, a code like this will align in to the left on mobile https://i.imgur.com/oCM5B1D.png

The code is here – https://pastebin.com/iPb6Aw3n
Enter it in the Advanced CSS section, in the phones field https://i.imgur.com/vvXkFFQ.png

Hi,

The image is displayed twice from what I see in the post you mention.

Once by the theme https://i.imgur.com/73DNmxV.jpg

And once by WordPress I believe https://i.imgur.com/ZZxa6gI.jpg

The element that displays the second time I think is this one from Gutenberg

View post on imgur.com

If you edit the post with Gutenberg, is that featured image element inside the post?

View post on imgur.com

If it is, this would mean it was added there, it couldn’t of appeared in the post by itself, or added by the theme itself. The theme doesn’t add anything in the post content.

Could you check with the author and make sure they did not place the featured image element from Gutenberg in the post content? Because besides adding it manually, it would be very unusual if it just appears there by its own.

Let me know.

Thank you!

Hi,

Glad to hear that is worked eventually. Let me know at any time if I can help with something else.

Hi,

It can be done either way. There is an automatic update method or the usual manual methods. This update guide is valid for both themes – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/

However, if the Newsmag theme version you are using is older than 4.9.4, the automatic update method will not be available, as it was not yet introduced

View post on imgur.com

In this case the theme will have to be updated manually. Download it from your themeforest account and update it on the website, through WordPress or using a file manager.

Let me know if you have questions.

Thank you!

Hi,

It depends. For example the option to create widget sidebar from the post edit screen won’t be available if the post uses a cloud template. The option from the categories settings as well won’t be available if you use a cloud template. Also assuming the standard pack plugin is deactivated.

But there are still ways to create widget sidebars is these are required to be used. Do it from here for example – https://i.imgur.com/bRMO6nq.png There are a few other places, but one should be enough. Please try it.

Hi,

I believe that CSS is provided by the browser. The browsers do have some default CSS for various HTML tags, so for example: https://www.w3schools.com/csSref/css_default_values.asp

This is for the figure tag -> https://i.imgur.com/FMAjrmI.png

As they are loaded by the browser, removing them for everyone is not possible, as it’s something the browser loads. But you can override them. Create and load CSS for the figure to look as you want, if that is an option for the app you mention. That would be the only way in my opinion.

Hi,

The content of a page can be anything you want, build it with the composer for example
https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-composer-tutorial-2/

The header however will be the same across the whole website. The Newsmag theme doesn’t have the capabilities of the Newspaper theme, which allows using different headers/footers for each page if needed. So the header will be the same one everywhere. The content and design of the page content can be built in any way possible.

If you have questions or need help, let me know what you would like to do and I will provide assistance.

Thank you!
