If you want to do this, notice that you can only control the excerpt for each post which will be displayed in your block from here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/ufbysNk0 and then, from here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/LsRNqdGYpBH If you want to display more levels in our theme you should edit the get_excerpt function. It is not a simple task and if you aren’t aware of the steps, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because we cannot provide custom services at the moment, sorry!

Notice that all of these changes can be made from Theme panel. I guess that you are referring to the Block Title which can simply change from backend in Visual Composer. Unfortunately I cannot see any block 13 on your site so i cannot see the error now. This is how block 13 displays usually: https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-13/ you use a 3 column layout on your site so you do not have 2 free columns available. It will show up on your layout as it does on a 1 column layout, (the one on the right)
Please create a new page, a testing page and add just block 13 to it and see how it displays in different row layouts on different columns.

Hi,
There are no options to remove the margins between the modules in the Big Grid, this could only be achieved through modifying the theme files, or by custom code. The images on the Blocks and Big Grids should display properly if the posts have a featured image set, and the thumbnails needed are activated

Please make sure you activate these in Theme panel, and then regenerate your thumbnails if needed using the guide provided below. Also take note of the requirements for the server.

Please provide more details, is this occurring only for the Slider element or also on other elements on the page. You could try to regenerate the thumbnails needed for the theme, using this guide

And also take note of the requirements for the server. After the regeneration process is complete, please clear any caching installed and check to see if the problem is resolved.

This is because of the implementation you use on your widget. It is an ad box and I see a block element inside the ad box. This is not right. The ad box gets the size of the image in it so if you add a block inside the ad box, then the block will also have a changed width. I’m not sure how you added the block inside the ad code but do not use this implementation.

There is no option top control the modules on the blocks or big grids to display a certain post, unless specific Id’s are entered in the post Id filter – https://www.screencast.com/t/iy5IljNrv
Then the big grid will display only these posts, in the order they are entered.

Thanks for your help. I did check and it’s enabled, but it is still not showing a lightbox. When I click on a picture, it just shows the picture. I have to hit back and click another picture, instead of just hitting the first picture and scrolling through. Do you have any other ideas what might be blocking this?
If you pull content from other websites, not related to theme. Some sites can block external loading without permission.
For images to be used as thumbs, they need to be set as ‘featured’ which needs plugin to generate from the image in post from other website.
Might not be your issue, but your note wasn’t very specific.
See the theme docs for tips on how to speed up site pages; of course if loading stuff from exeternal site you have to wait for content to load from other site — nothing you can do to ‘speed up’ that.

In visual composer I added an ad box within a a custom add box.
On desktop, the advertisement is shown correctly, but on mobile I only see the code:

I’m using the mobile theme. How come it’s showing the visual composer code?
I don’t want to remove excerpts. I use custom excerpt for every block, but I want to use a number of words/letters in a specific block’s excerpt. Can I try with custom css?

Hi guys, hope you’ve had a good Easter break.
I am trying to use Block Header 13 as a way of freshening up my site design, and can’t get it to display correctly.
Basically it looks like Block 12 (ie – no big text behind the main title). Weirdly, it displays on the sidebar headings on my iPhone correctly, but not on desktop or tablet, and not in the main body of pages – only the sidebar.
I have tried turning off all the plugins, clearing caches, etc, but has not solved the problem so far.
Site is thecarexpert.co.uk. Running Newspaper 7.8.1 and VC 5.1.1. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

I want to create an entry where I can show access to the subcategories of a category, that is, can show the titles and a image of subcategories.
The way Visual Composer have to work on blocks is to call the categories for to download all their posts, but not show an access to that category.
I have, for example, the top category “Areas” and several subcategories among which are “Astronomy”, “Biology”, Social Sciences “, etc.
When I click on” Areas” I want to go to a page where I can access to “Astronomy”,”Biology”,”Social Sciences”, etc., and NOT to all post of “Astronomy”, “Biology”, “Social Sciences”, etc.
I could do a independent access trough image (I think) but the behavior in mobil is not good.
This is because in my main menu I have two drop-down items, and one of them shows subcategories, but these are not visible in the mobil.
I have activated “Mobile theme” and I do not see the possibility of accessing to these subcategories from the cell phone.
I think creating a post with access to the subcategories would be solved.
Hi, do you know how can i remove the margins from between the images in this visual composer block ? I am using “Big Grid Full 7”, i tried using other layouts which don’t have margins by default, but the images are not stretching to fill the containers, i am ending up with grey empty spaces on the side or below the image.

I use Newspaper Theme and I can say you I solved this issue. I use 2 plugins for saving space in my hosting:
- WP Smush – it helps for reducing image size (but there are other tools)
- Optimize Images Resizing – it improves WP image sizes generation and save your hosting space
With Optimize Images Resizing you will have a thumb generated only if it is needed by your theme.
I had some categories in a block, others in other blocks. I had 10 different thumbs for each image: it was stressful. Now I have only 2-3 thumbs for each image.
Maybe this advise can help someone.

All files are cleanly integrated via https only the following Google font from the theme is stubborn only via http in the source code
‘http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Lato’. This request has been blocked; the content must be served over HTTPS.
How can I change this to https, because all other content functions problem-free over https.

In China, blog readers are getting the mobile Newspaper theme on their desktop. I attach a screenshot. If they go to VPN (tunnel outside the Chinese firewall) all is OK. I understand that my Twitter feed and social icons may be blocked, but is there some header code that can force the use of the desktop site?
Usually you can go to the theme docs to look at the different modules and blocks. I think the items you mention are for the titles which print “in” the blocks on top of photos, not under the blocks/grids.
Normally the text under the blocks on a post, would be the post title or page title. Luckily you can experiment; often by opening two browser tabs; in first change font — in second hit refresh to see change.
