Hello,
Do you add the block in a page or category template? This filter’s current category works only in the category template. Please provide some screenshots.
Thank you!
Hi Guys, on my global category archive template as well as the main post loop I also want to show a flex block 1 with posts from the same/current category that also have a custom taxonomy for ‘Location’.
If I drop a flex block 1 into the page, set the Filter to ‘Current Category’ and then in the ‘Multiple terms filter’ add the ID of the taxonomy for the ‘Asia’ Location which is ’11’, the flex block 1 fetches anything with this custom taxonomy, not just posts from the current category.
Is there any way to achieve this with the flex block 1 filters?
Thanks
Matt
Hello Anamaria, finally i found in the forum the solution. I add CSS Code:
body #td-outer-wrap .block-mega-child-cats {
overflow-x: hidden;
overflow-y: auto;
max-height: 252px;
}
Thanks anyway
Hello,
Yes, you can create a sidebar -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/sidebars-tutorial/ and copy the block from the homepage and put it in the sidebar with right-click.
Thank you!
Hi,
Please edit with tagDiv Composer -> https://i.imgur.com/j8YvKks.png click on the block and remove the offset -> https://i.imgur.com/dJ0iFQu.png let that field empty.
Thank you!
I did everything you told me but still with the same error, activate debug mode so you can help me review the error. The requirements are the corrects:
PHP Version 8.0.30
WP Memory Limit 256 MB
PHP Execution Time 0
PHP Max Input Vars 2000
The error shows the mode debug is the following:

1. Is there any settings what will disable any Javascript, CSS, or any other code that is not being used or not needed for the configuration on a site?
In other words if I am only using 20% of the code for my needs is there a setting, plugin, or customization (you may have) that will turn off the 80% of the unused code? (to improve performance)
2. Does one of these elements; big grid, big grid flex, flex block, perform better as far as loading the Feature Image from articles? There is quite a delay in the images loading which is slowing down the site.
Do you have a fix for this?
Hello,
Please edit with tagDiv Composer, select the block and change the module gap https://i.imgur.com/WVO97lr.png
Thank you!
Hi!
Could you tell me how to reduce this space – https://monosnap.com/file/OdSHduyNUEGJRMESU5sjNP4ljWPEPg
Page – https://gif2you.com/birthday-cards/
I was only able to do this by changing the value with a negative sign, but it looks like the blocks are superimposed on each other – https://monosnap.com/file/BXtNJiAd2cqXeBubdOqh2ecHO5EePx
Please tell me another way.
Thank you.
Morning, apologies for long message.
I note that these topics have been covered several times but what is the latest position. Any clear advice or a definitive solution would be handy. The ones we have tried as per some of your suggestions don’t seem to resolve the issue. I have a live site which is using the previous version of Newspaper and a testing/staging site with the latest version 12.6.5. Same issues on both sites. I have the relevant tagDiv plugins installed. Other non tagDiv plugins were deactivated and added one by one to see if there were conflicts with plugins – no conflictions.
Firstly…Is the issue with Save settings something which is likely to be resolved in a future update?
If not and before I try to get someone to help me investigate what’s going on and fix things, the hosting company have asked me to inform you of a few things they found when trying to help – not sure if any of it helps. Their responses are in italics.
Save Settings – Nothing saves, results in Spinning Wheel
Reading through the forum, this got flagged up
Object Cache on Backend
https://forum.tagdiv.com/general-options-may-interfere-newspaper-theme/
Suggestion from tagDiv is that the issue with spinning wheel and settings not being saved ‘could be a situation generated by the object cache on the backend’ ‘this could be either a plugin or it’s a hosting option.’
Contacted hosting company and they have replied as follows:
‘Disabling object caching entirely is not permitted unless it’s for testing purposes only. However, you can contact theme support to inquire if there’s a particular post type, setting, or element for which object caching needs to be disabled.’
So, can tagDiv please advise if there is a specific item that needs to be disabled – many thanks
Another tagDiv option is ‘Plugins – they must be deactivated and the file created by them, named “object-cache.php” must be deleted.
The hosting company and the person who usually does my maintenance wasn’t convinced by the above suggested deletion to deactivate plugins and the file….so to be fair haven’t tried that as yet.
The hosting company also reported that they..
‘noticed in the Envato forum that other users in the past have reported issues with the td_011_settings table, indicating that the theme developer should address and resolve these issues.’
https://forums.envato.com/t/wp-option-set-to-autoload/453841
Is this likely to be anything to do with it?
The hosting company also proceeded to delve deeper and conducted additional investigation, uncovering the following information.
‘I’ve noticed an error or warning message on the dashboard regarding “Excess updates to option td_011_settings blocked.” This could be the reason for the issue.
The error occurred due to a platform configuration on our side. This configuration is designed to prevent site plugins or themes from excessively writing to the database servers and causing overload.
That specific table is where the theme stores backups of the theme panel and other related data. I suggest contacting NewsPaper theme or Tagdiv support to inform them about this issue.
Furthermore, I believe the next step will involve dropping the option that is causing the error.
However, before proceeding with this action, it’s important to contact theme support and inform them of this issue and the subsequent steps, especially concerning the large content in one of the rows related to td_011_settings.
Import/Export Theme Settings
Followed the suggested tagDiv instructions regarding importing and exporting Theme Settings as per this link
https://forum.tagdiv.com/import-export-theme-settings/#
That results in
This page isn’t working…is currently unable to handle this request.
Please advise.Thanks
Hello,
This – https://imgur.com/Iq4uvdL is not part from our theme, is an extra untested plugin.
Also, to reduce the time you should use for the loop block a different pagination, like numbered, load more button, next/prev, this should reduce the time with 2 seconds.
Thank you!
Hello @ziamoon!
You can delete the logo element and add the other one. So, the overlapping settings will be deleted as well.
If you use the translations from the theme panel, then you can change the default language displayed on your website.
I recommend you use the gTranslate plugin.
This issue with AMP scan failure has already been discussed here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/after-update-theme-9-to-12-site-loading-very-slow-without-enabling-caching-on/ and here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/site-scan-failed-try-again-amp-newspaper-theme/
Please use the correct filter for each page: https://forum.tagdiv.com/flex-block-settings-guide/
Thank you!
Hello,
I think that you are referring to filtering the block using tags, you can do it from here https://i.imgur.com/J8LRUv9.png -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/search/flex/
Thank you!
Mixed Content: The page at ‘https://………/’ was loaded over HTTPS, but requested an insecure font ‘http://…..com/wp-content/plugins/td-composer/legacy/Newspaper/assets/images/icons/newspaper-icons.ttf?1’. This request has been blocked; the content must be served over HTTPS.

As you can see, my site is pretty well optimized outside of the layout shift and total blocking time. I’ve done some research on both, but I’m still pretty confused on how to improve both of them. Could really use some help on how to optimize them.

Everything is structured really well outside of the layout shifts.
And below shows the largest layout shifts contributing to the high 0.32 number.

Site URL: Dirty Politix
Why every time it needs an update license get unregistered and everything is reset?
This is like the 4th time that I haven’t visited the site with the theme in a long while. When I login, I have to activate the license again and every is back to default. All my color, menu, header, blocks settings are reset to default, banner is gone, background, etc. Very annoying!
Hello. We are having two issues with the Town Talk template. I’ll detail them for you.
Problem 1: When we create a page, the date remains in English, something that does not happen when dealing with an individual post. It makes no sense because the website is in Spanish, and it’s the same type of block: Single post date, with the same settings. See photos here (single post, ok) and here (page, doesn’t works). Here, link to page
Problem 2: In the Title Over Image block type, we have a row with 4 blocks, and in each one, a Title Over Image module. The block height does not work. All 4 were set to 220 pixels, but it only remains on the last one. When you add a new module within the row, the previous one starts to display vertically. See image here.
You can see the block at the end of the homepage
“This issue has been discussed already here, please check: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/author-link-is-not-working-redirects-to-404-and-homepage/”
This solved the problem. Thank you!
Hello @kharondev!
In that guide are presented also the settings to change that aspect ratio by percentage(for example in the flex block 1).
Also, you can create custom modules: https://forum.tagdiv.com/modules-builder-newspaper-theme/
Thank you!
Hello @kharondev!
Check this guide for the default blocks: https://forum.tagdiv.com/theme-thumbs/
If you use Flex Block 1, for example, or a custom module, then you have the possibility to set the sizes for every module image.
If you upload an image that is smaller than your size from settings, then this could appear blurry and not of high quality. I suggest you upload the images in your Media Library in full size (1920 px): https://prnt.sc/YzxtrT24bGKM
Thank you!
Hi,
You can create a module builder to display the date using acf on the block -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/modules-builder-newspaper-theme/ -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/flex-block-builder-flex-loop-builder/
Thank you!
Never mind, I found out, that I have to use “tribe_events” as post type. But of course it doesn’t show the event date. Is there a way to display ACF field values is any blocks?
Hello Alex!
1. Unfortunately, no.
2. If you have 2 blocks of Flex Block 4 there, then you can copy-paste the style (copy the entire style or only a part of the style, for example, copy style image) from the first block to the second one only if they are the same. You can select the element by right-clicking and choosing copy style, then click on the second block and paste the style. If you have only one block with 2 columns, then all the settings are already applied. Probably the images are not the same size; this could be possible.
There is a possibility to copy-paste the same element where you want. Also, you can have two pages opened in the tagdiv composer and paste them on the other page as well. You can save the entire element, give it a name, and when you open a new page in the tagdiv, the composer can be found in the shortcodes list. Just search after the name you give it, and you can place it where you want.
I hope that helps you!
Thank you!
