Hi,
posts are related to one or many categories but with only one primary category. On Category’s pages we want to display all articles whose one of their categories matches the displayed Category. But on the homepage, to avoid displaying same posts many times, we would like to display category blocks, where posts filtering is based on primary category (td_primary_cat as saved into postmeta). Is it possible to achieve that?

The theme code it’s written in a very clean way so it can be easily adapted at any situation or customizations. However a feature like flexible width for pages it’s a very difficult task to achieved due to theme’s complexity. Our theme have many block and modules which all are built at fixed sizes. To achieve a flexible width which can be changed dynamically, the entire grid must be rewritten. The and result will be technicality a new theme and this cannot be done so easy.
To allow more post types in related articles box you can include them into an array then loop trough that array to check if the post type it’s allowed or not to appear in more articles box.
Note that this is a complex task which involve many customizations and also good coding skills. If you still need guidance on this or you’re not aware of the steps you need to take in this regard please consider hiring a developer or a freelancer to do this for you.

Hi, i have a custom PHP codes running in 3 static pages. I have created the pages using the wordpress back-office, and writing the title and using the default template.
For example, the ID of one of them is 100, with slug “contacto”.
I folowed the Template hierarchy and re-named a copy of “/Newspaper/page.php” file in my theme child.
Single Page #
custom template file – The page template assigned to the page. See get_page_templates(). page-{slug}.php – If the page slug is recent-news, WordPress will look to use page-recent-news.php page-{id}.php – If the page ID is 6, WordPress will look to use page-6.php. page.php singular.php index.php
In my case i chosse using this name: page-archive.php (but i tested with page-100.php too)
I am running this in mi localhost and in other hosting for testing purposes, and are working great.
Working in a new server:
The strange thing is that now, i have imported 160.000 news , and for an unknown reason this hierarchy don’t work any more. Now is working in localhost.. “the same files”!! but in the real production server this is not working.
Then i created all these files with empty content. Only with the line <?php echo ‘page-slug.php’;?>.
And they never load!.

i have a couple of custom taxonomies.
I got everything up and running so far.
Only one functionality is missing, using the ajax filter for the custom taxonomies.
I already extended the filter dropdown list (based on td_config.php) in the admin backend and the terms of the chosen taxonomie is shown in the drop down list in the frontend. In the HTML code the data-td_filter_value has the correct term-id. Therefore I extended the td_block.php.
But by clicking one of the terms, only the standard view is shown, the filter doesn’t work.
I guess there has to be something set in the jQuery file or configuration, but I’m not sure where to investigate.
The td_ajax.php deals with the filters, is there a way to add parameter for a tax_query so that the ajax is looking for the term_id instead of the category id?

Before trying the manual method, you can try a few things to get the demo install to work (the manual method is not a walk in the park. It’s easier if you get it to work automatically)
First thing you need to check is if you meet the newspaper system requirements:

Then you need to increase your system status parameters:

These 2 will be required not only for the demos, they are requirements for the theme’s functionality.
Then, if the demo still won;t load, you need to check if you have the correct permissions on your upload folder. If not you can use the c-panel to change permissions (set them to 777) or if you do not have access to the cpanel, please contact your hosting provider. Another thing you can check with your host is to unlock the demo if there is some setting which blocks access to it.
If all of these will not do it, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and request the manual instalation and we will provide the XML file for the specific demo you want to import.

Unfortunately the theme has no such option. You can either find a plugin that can do it or hire a freelancer to hard-code it. Sorry. The plugin version will only work on posts as our modules and blocks from the homepage are custom made and plugins cannot recognize the code as they are built for standard wordpress code. (This is the case with all premium/custom made themes)

The sidebar set for categories in theme panel applies only only that specific category page. For example if I set a custom sidebar for Apple category here: http://screencast.com/t/UZ7LIZQF6Ls it will be displayed on Apple category page here: http://screencast.com/t/ic77qeZuTbIN and also on every post from Apple category which does not have another sidebar set in post editor. By selecting here Default Sidebar: http://screencast.com/t/WOc692xRVo the theme will display the sidebar set for the post’s category, not a sidebar named “Default Sidebar”
The theme don’t have a block which display the entire post content in Visual Composer. If you want to display all post content on a page then use pagebuilder + latest and set module 15 for layout: http://screencast.com/t/DShLQP5Dir

Unfortunately blocks were not designed to work like that. The block shows the featured image and the excerpt of the post and if the image or title is clicked, it will open the post, not the image itself. Unfortunately in this situation, the plugin solution does not work as well as our blocks are custom made so plugins cannot recognize the code. If you wish to change this behavior, you will have to hire a freelancer to help out as the code will have to be modified in order to achieve this.

Please notice that our theme has been designed to use 4 value in this regard and it is possible to need additional customizations for this, that require custom work. If you want to display more levels in our theme and you are not aware the steps in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to do this for you because we cannot provide custom services at the moment, sorry!

Newsmag theme does not have implemented the ads system for smart list yet that’s why the indicated ad-spots are missing. We plan to implement the ads for smart lists in future theme updates but meanwhile if you want to use them a solution would be to use do_shortcode function in the file corresponding with the smart-list template used: http://screencast.com/t/ys6OJZXx

Note that blocks weren’t designed to be displayed in posts so there is a chance to appear some issues with this layout.

Recently my home page has had a format problem emerge relating to post images and text. The text is now going under the image. Not sure what has happened or how to fix. I am only using the default theme’s column split and standard blocks.
when I chose featured posts as the sorting order of a block, and I don’t filter them by category or anything, how are these featured posts chosen? is it random posts? tks.

I have then added a new block of code each with the specific category ID and custom colour and all seems to work OK.
Is this code correct? I am not very confident with css and would like to know if there is a more efficient way to accomplish the same result.

I’m trying to embed a video from my Vimeo account. It embeds in the post fine.
But, on the homepage within a block, the URL appears as text. I don’t want the URL to appear. It looks bad. I’ve tried a shortcode and same thing happens. The shortcode appears as text on the homepage.
Here’s the homepage. helpuconquer.com It’s in the left-hand column and the post is test 1111.
When the video button is clicked, the post opens and the video can be played. But, how can the URL be removed from the block on the homepage?
By the way, how would I set this video to autoplay?
