Hello cva183,

This is not a right behaviour of the theme, strange. Please notice in our demo, here -> http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/ and there you can see that the theme works fine. I suspect your issue being from your untested plugins which you are using in your theme. Please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all cache and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins.

Hope this help and let us know how it goes!

Thank you for the message!

Hello there,

I’ve just bought the theme and I’m trying to understand how things work.

My previous theme was using wider featured images (795×250). But now they are all scaled on the homepage. However, when I checked the documentation it says “the images will be cropped from up and center of the image”. But it does not.

I have tried uploading smaller or bigger (1350×700) images too, they have also scaled down. Not cropped.

I’ve used regen. all thumbnails plugin and also used “Force Regen.”. I think I must have been doing something wrong.

PS: No cache or any other plugin is used. Only Newsmag plugins.

Thanks guys!

Hi,
There should be an alert if something goes wrong with the token. Please make sure you have the correct app key from facebook and try to disable all your plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Then try the token again. If you still get the same error, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide wp-admin so we can take a look. Also include a link to this topic.
Thank you!

Hi,
If your product page is not loading fully then you might have plugin compatibility issues.
Please try to disable all your plugins, clear cache and reset cdn files.
As for the update: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
Thanks!

Hi,
please clear your cache after you add the code in the custom css box or check if you closed all css tags in there because the code works on my end as expected: http://screencast.com/t/HvfftqTKq
Thank you!

I recently installed NewsMag and am having issues with the images not loading on the front page. I’ve fiddled around with a bunch of stuff, including changing the blocks (the “slider” seems to be a little glitchy re loading), installing WP Smush, and making sure WP Super Cache is working properly. I also use CloudFlare.

Still, I get white spaces where the images are supposed to be. Any idea what might be going on?

Update on this: After fiddling with everything I could think of (with help from the fab TagDiv crew), we still couldn’t figure out why the top page was disappearing, but it appeared to have something to do with me having the site on CloudFlare. (Because, yeah, I deactivated CloudFlare, and the comment system worked fine – BUT my site slowed down and had all the problems I had before activating CloudFlare. So I ended up activating it again and had the same comment issue.)

So I tried out some different comment systems, and while checking out Postmatic, I live-chatted with the Postmatic crew (Jason L., who is awesome), and here’s what we did: Activated the Postmatic plugin, then also added another plugin from the Postmatic people called Epoch (solves most comment issues and works with CDN, Cache and SEO). Those two plugins solved the issue. Comments work great (and bonus points that the Postmatic plugin has a cool thing where people can just reply to a comment email and their comment is automatically added to the post) and everything is speedy.

Highly recommend Postmatic and Epoch, as well as the excellent customer support from the Postmatic people.

I have the same problem, I have followed EVERYTHING they have suggested and it doesn’t work. Sometimes their suggestions work, sometimes it doesn’t. I even went through and created new app stuff for Facebook (several times over, purged the cache on every level) and it’s no dice.

Considering the amount of people who have posted about similar problems, there’s something that’s clearly not working with the plug-in on some level, whether it’s conflict with the server/host or the plug-in: it’s something the developers need to dive into further.

I should haven’t have to give the developers access to my website to tell me that everything they’ve suggested doesn’t work.

By the way, GoDaddy says it’s on the developer’s end. So that’s something right there that needs to be addressed.

Make sure VC is disabled from plugin panel

Delete plugin folder via FTP

Clear cache

Use WP-optimize to clear ‘transients’

Reinstall Visual Composer via FTP

Enable via plugin panel

Hi Bogdan,
I did go through style.css and changed the font stacks but its still giving me the fouc.
I’ve cleared cache, etc. and still see it.

I definitely want to address this issue. Would it be possible for you to take a look?
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks!

Hi

I’ve checked you’re site and noticed that you’re using homepage post block from Visual Composer, that’s why the featured image cover the the top part of the page.
Try to edit the page with Visual Composer and remove the homepage post block, clear all caches and test again.

Thanks!

Hi

I am not sure why you did the migration this way as there is a more simpler method.
First make sure you do a full backup of your current wp-install and database to: https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups
Then follow our documentation to update the theme: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-the-theme/ Make sure that you do a clean update, meaning the we recommend to delete the old theme files, clear all caches, deactivate all others plugins that you have it installed and purge cdn files if you’re using.
Also make sure you update Visual Composer plugin at V 2.3.5 here is our documentation in this regard: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/

Thanks!

Hi

I’ve checked your site and noticed that you’re using a full width roe to display the big-grid. Make sure you set the starch option to default value in Visual Composer: http://screencast.com/t/c7NOlNLHLGF clear all caches and test again.

Let me know how it goes and if you need further instructions please provide ore details and we will reply in shortest time possible.

Thanks!

Hi

1. You need to insert the Read More button where you want your post to stop on module 15: Here is an example: http://screencast.com/t/rxJITxkYhttp://screencast.com/t/1YM7EJSG
2. Try to deactivate all plugin except Visual Composer, Clear all caches then try to edit a post in Visual mod again.
Let us know how it goes and if the problem persist please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com with your login credentials and we will inspect this issue as soon as possible, also include a link to this topic.

I am not sure what you mean in your second reply so please provide more specific details about your issue so I can inspect it closer.

Thanks!

Hi Andrei,
thank you for pointing out the concerning documentation parts and yes, now also the ajax post view counter has been enabled. And is ok now and well understood how the WPP filter and the theme unique content works. But, sorry, even after your suggested settings, I still have a quite big misalignement between the WPP statistics and what it is supposed to be the real visits. For example, if you see the 24h WPP stats (http://screencast.com/t/qsZIfuhCvp) and 7days WPP posts stats (http://screencast.com/t/VSRrTY45rVLk), considering that the post’s creation date is the 30/03/2016, their WPP statistics should be coincident and that is not the case, why?
Moreover, things doesn’t changes for older posts: for example for a post dated 21/03/2016 (i.e. date > 7 days ago) there is a lot of misalignement between the following items:
– Google analytics stats (http://screencast.com/t/KlCXDgjfYBh2) which says 7 visits;
– all time WPP stats (http://screencast.com/t/pb3zHEOqJEqo) which says 48 visits;
– last 30 days stats (http://screencast.com/t/tIp4ZoUbp6) which says 48 visits too;
– last 7 days stats (http://screencast.com/t/pLUlHH5lGHOF) which says 33 visits;
– last 24 stats (http://screencast.com/t/RYcPCLZnL) which says only 7 visits as Google Analytics says!
– post view counter (http://screencast.com/t/FIoU6HzUgLZ) which counts 364 visits!!

I’d expected that all-time, last 30 days and last 7 days statistics must be coincident and it is not the case, why? This way, who knows how many visits have received this post?? And all the cache was cleared by means of “WPP->tools->empty cache” and “WPP->tools->empty all data” too on 23/03/2016 so that the WPP stats should be fresh and aligned.
Thank you very much indeed for any clarification on this stats meaning you could give to me which is struggling and confusing me a lot.

Giuseppe

Hello VoZz,

Please ensure that you have correctly followed all the steps in order to set your Ajax Filter, according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-tutorial/ Also, please make sue that you are using the latest version of the Theme (6.7) and Visual Composer (4.11). Also, please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all cache and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins. Please try your theme without any untested plugins because this thing could cause some js errors in the theme that create these issues.

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Thank you for the message!

Hi,
Unfortunately I could not access your website: http://screencast.com/t/Ksi3nHvKfeM8
This type of errors usually occur from plugin conflicts. Please disable all your plugin except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. If the problem gets resolved when you do this, it means that one of your plugins is not compatible with the theme.
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks.

Hi

I’ve checked your site and found a js error in browser’s console: http://screencast.com/t/8rI71u6h2DfF This error seems to be related with one of your installed plugins as it’s source file is not from our theme or from Visual Composer. Try to deactivate ALL plugin except Visual Composer clear the cache memory and test again.

Let us know how it goes and if the problem persist please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com with your login credentials and we will inspect this issue as soon as possible, also include a link to this topic.

Thanks!

Hi

The code it’s tested and works fine on my side: http://screencast.com/t/7FF6ur2Unq0 Make sure you’ve added the proper url for your custom logo, clear all caches and test again. Also note that the code will work only on posts, not on homepage or any other page from your site.

Thanks!

Sorry, I have checked that the local time is correct several times and flushed the cache but everyday the posts stop showing up around 6:00 (00:00 hours UTC time) when selecting “Random Posts Today”. By the way, I am referring to the widget blocks of the sidebar.

Hi

The password protect it’s a WordPress built in feature and the theme dos not affect it. I am not sure why this is not working as expected on your side as I’ve test it on my end and works fine. Make sure that you have set the password according with WordPress documentation: https://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Password_Protection also try do deactivate all plugin except Visual Composer, clear all caches and test again. Also test this with a default wp-theme.

Thanks!

Hi

Firs please make sure that you’ve updated the theme according with our documentation: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-the-theme/ deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear all caches and test again. Also try to deactivate Lazy Load animation from theme panel > template settings: http://screencast.com/t/Vm9eMO2O4Ed

Let us know how it goes and if you still can’t manage to solve this issue please provide your site url so we can have a closer look.

Thanks!

Hello Castle Yen,

I suspect this issue come from your untested plugins which you are using in the theme. Please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all cache and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins. It is necessary to follow this advice because if you are using some untested plugins with our theme those can interfere with the theme and could create some js errors in your console which cause this type of problem.

If your problem is still there after these changes and if you need more assistance in this regard, please provide your website URL so I can further inspect the issue.

Hope this helps!
