Hi,
I’m experiencing the same issue.
Cloudflare has rocket load and cache disabled. Sometimes, the pictures won’t show up until you refresh a couple of times.
Not other caching plugin is used.

Hi again. You have checked the production site, which works fine since I have no post video there.
The original problem has been reproduced in the development site. Same URL but starts with “dev”: devDOTcalcioefinanzaDOTcom.
There you can find the issue once again, even after the theme upgrade, the wp cache clean, the browser cache clean.
Thanks for your attention
Regards
Fabio
Hi
I’ve checked your site on mobile devices and works fine now: http://screencast.com/t/ruNr7FPQxoXy If you still have this issue try to clear the mobile device cache memory and test again. Also provide more details and a screen pointing the issue so i can duplicate it on my side and get back to you with a more accurate answer.
Thanks!
Hello vskaarthi,
I have checked your website and saw your problem with the featured image. I suspect to be a problem might be caused by conflicting plugins. Please try to disable all the active plugins, except Visual Composer, clear all cache and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflict between plugins. Please check if your problem is still there after this advice.
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thank you for the message!
Hello T2N,
Unfortunately, your plugin is not tested with our theme and we cannot ensure that this plugin will work properly and we cannot provide support for untested plugins, sorry. As you can see here -> http://screencast.com/t/CxWyxf2h we have a list of tested plugins and these working well with our theme. This Masonry Media Grid feature is a complex element of Visual Composer and has a lot of option in his panel, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/BqjDWCVn -> http://screencast.com/t/Uxyb6UWs4B Please try to enjoy with these options and maybe you can fix the problem.
My advice is to try to disable all the active plugins, except Visual Composer, clear cache and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins. This kind of feature works fine with our Theme but without any plugins that might cause a lot of conflicts with our theme.
For more information about how to use this feature, please check this link on YouTube -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6bhdjm69yAU -> it should be more useful for you.
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thank you for the message!
Hi,
Cloudflare cache should work as long as you don’t change the query on each request. You could use the browser Network tool(on Chrome) to check if a file is cached – http://screencast.com/t/pOS62ffqR0L
The version query is present on all wordpress themes, it’s not a specific Newspaper behavior.
If your query string is changed on each request check the plugins, you may have one which does that.
Some proxies may be set not to cache links which come with query strings, but if you use cloudflare you shouldn’t worry about this.
Speed booster is not related to proxy or caching, it just moves the css and js at the page bottom. To avoid any possible conflict we added a check which enables it only for the plugins with which it was tested. You could try to enable it for all plugins, for this just delete or comment the following code – http://screencast.com/t/RZLIOPUNdqh
Thank you!

Hi again.
Theme updated. Cache cleared. The problem persists. Can you check again?
Hello,
The categories showed up for us 100% of the time. Again now: http://screencast.com/t/f7uKmrmJ
Please clear your cache and your browser cache as well and check the issue from another machine as well.
The second issue comes from your block settings. The ajax filter is the one displaying the categories on top, not the filter tab. They are 2 different filters. If you use an ajax filter you need to leave the first filter on all categories :http://screencast.com/t/ICYpcu6ME and then insert the cat id’s in the ajax filter here: http://screencast.com/t/5wmLjy0Rh
Please check the page again to see the modifications i made to the settings.
You can read more about block settings here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-tutorial/
Thank you!
Hi
I’ve checked your site and found some js errors in browser’s console: http://screencast.com/t/fRi4V9wR Try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, just to make sure that there is nop conflict between the theme and one of your installed plugins, clear all caches and test again.
Thanks!
Thanks for doing that.
I tried in two browsers and cleared any cache – here are the issues
1. the categories at the top did not appear the first 5 times I looked at it (I kept refreshing every minute to see them). They finally appeared. The question is why don’t they appear 99% of the time I test this feature on any browser?
2. Making specific categories display (instead of all) does not work – the block displays all possible categories. Can you test this feature?
Hi
Try to update the theme at the current version available on themeforest, V 2.3.5,deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear all caches and test again.
If the problem persist please provide more details about and also your site url so I can inspect it closer.
Thanks!
Hello Sekki,
I have checked your website on mobile and everything seems to work as expected. If the problem reappears, please try to disable all the active plugins, except Visual Composer and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme, clear cache and test it again.
Thank you for the message!
Hello,
I’m not sure how we are ‘boobytrapping’ our code. Our theme was built in conformation with every standard and I can assure you the theme has no such issues. You can check our official demo to see how the theme should behave: http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/
If issues appear on your side it does not mean it does so for everybody. If there is a problem in the theme, then everyone will experience this issue. As we have no reports of this at this moment we can safely assume it’s not the theme itself that causes this. There are compatibility issues between our theme and other plugins though. That is a different matter. The theme in it’s default state works without issues as it has been tested time and time again. When using our theme with different plugins then things could go wrong as this is the case with all premium themes. It is impossible to create a theme that is compatible with every plugin out there.
Please try to disable all your plugins except visual composer and clear your cache. Then check the issue again. If the problem is no longer there, it means that one of the plugins is causing a conflict. Sometimes plugins create conflicts between them as well.
Thank you!
Hi
This happens because on the indicated pages the Visual Composer rows are full width: http://screencast.com/t/gOiOB6lys Please make sure that the the stretch row setting is set to default in Visual Composer: http://screencast.com/t/CQQE7jxuff9M clear all caches and test again.
To remove the spaces between the rows add this css in theme panel > custom code> custom css: http://screencast.com/t/epyvm6XATbh
.vc_row {
border-bottom: 0!important;
border-top-width: 0px !important;
}
Thanks!
Hello paolobabaglioni,
I have checked your website and I saw your fallen sidebar on the first page. Please try to use another sidebar without any plugins and test it again. Please notice that the smart list feature is too sensible and might appear some errors. Also, you have to try to create another smart list into a blank page in text mode and ensure that you have followed the correct steps to achieve this and you does not forget to close any tags, braces, div, etc. Clear caches and test it again.
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thank you for the message!
Hello Sibienii,
The CSS Minify may not be needed because these days, The CSS files are optimized and minified already.
I recommend and use Cloudflare, but not W3TC though, don’t use anything except WP Super Cache, you won’t like the results.
I have tried them all except WP-Rocket, I am yet to test that plugin.
Cheers
Has anyone investigated how query strings in Newspaper and Cloudflare caching interact?
I currently have Newspaper and CloudFlare “Caching Level” set to “Standard” which means it does its best. My understanding is developers version files like this for cache busting purposes so when the theme is updated, browsers will see the new version in the query parameter and download the latest version. I’d much rather see the version number in the URL path, so each version is a different path, but presumably WordPress doesn’t support that.
GTMetrix and Pingdom both call out all these query strings might slow down proxy caches by keeping them from caching these files. Long story short, I’m wondering if that’s the case with CloudFlare and if anyone here has done anything to see if there’s a need to investigate further.
FWIW, I do not use Tagdiv’s speed booster plugin since it’s incompatible with several key core plugins.
Silly question, but wouldn’t you have to do this copy/paste procedure every time Tagdiv releases a new version of the theme?
I’m currently relying on CloudFlare to minify the files in their cache since W3 Total Cache minification breaks the theme. I’m planning to experiment with Autoptimize to see if it’s any better.
This turned out to be a problem with Super Cache which I have disabled. Unfortunately, due to TagDiv’s boobytrapping their code, I now suspect the theme of every problem that pops up.
Hi
I’ve checked your site and noticed that on mobile version appear some js errors in browsers console: http://screencast.com/t/xcsqbBd1f5kf This errors seams to be related with theme’s js. Try to update that theme at the latest version available on themeforest: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-the-theme/ clear all caches and test again.
Thanks!
Hi. Deactivated all the plugins except Visual Composere, WP Retina 2X and W3 Total Cache. Cache emptied.
Our test site is devDOTcalcioefinanzaDOTit
Thanks for the support
Regards
Hello joventu,
I have tested on my side and seems to works as expected. Please try to disable all the active plugins, except Visual Composer and WP User Avatar, clear all your caches and test it again and see how it works. Maybe you have the automatic updates for your plugins and now it could be an interference between WP User Avatar and these plugins with WP ultimate update. Please try my advice and if your problem is still there after this advice please let me know.
Thank you for the message!
