Hi

Leverage browser cache won’t comperes images, it only comperes resources like css/js/html. To optimize the images follow the above guide and also you could try a lower compression for them. You could also check these tutorials to optimize the images: https://premium.wpmudev.org/blog/fix-jpeg-compression/http://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/speed-wordpress-save-images-optimized-web/

Hi

The mobile theme displays on homepage three posts from Featured category then all other posts from the newest to oldest. There shouldn’t be any repetition so try to deactivate all plugins, clear all caches then test the site again.
Let us know how it goes and if the problem persist please provide your site url so we can have a closer look and we will get back to you Tuesday.

Thanks!

Hi

Have you updated the theme at V 7.1.1 which is available on themeforest? When the theme is updated it’s settings shouldn’t be affected as they are stored in database. Please follow our documentation to update the theme: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ Also before the update process deactivate ll plugin except Visual Composer, clear all caches, deactivate the child theme if you’re using then run the update.

Let us know if you still need assistance on this.
Thanks!

Hi

The theme is written according with WordPress standards and it’s optimized for best performances. However there are many factors which can influence site’s load time. In terms of page-speed we made a guide which covers most important aspects google notifies you about, you can find it here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/

I’ve checked your site with google page-speed and from its reports i’ve noticed that there are a few images which slow the load time. Try to optimize the images following google’s docs: https://developers.google.com/speed/docs/insights/OptimizeImages Also you can use leverage browser cache to reduce the size of the css/js resources served by the server: https://gtmetrix.com/leverage-browser-caching.html
To move render-blocking resources in page’s footer you can use Speed Booster plugin. We covered in our documentation at point 5 how this plugin can be used.

Other useful information about page speed can be found in these topics: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/help-moving-style-css-and-fonts-googleapis-com-to-footer/https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/speed-booster-questions/https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/mobile-view-problem-3/

Hope this helps.

Hi

I’ve tested our weather widget in sidebar an it works fine: http://screencast.com/t/AinIexLDVFYd I am not sure why is not displayed properly on your site but id could be due to a conflict with some other widgets added on the page. Try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear all caches then test again. Also try adding the widgets in sidebar like here: http://screencast.com/t/a7H9kpOfoFcq

I’ve added your suggestion on our todo list and when the time comes the developers will consider them. This may take some time as we have a long list with feature requests and we have to take them one by one.

Thanks!

Hello

Here is my answer ->

Unfortunately, the W3 Total Cache plugin is not tested with our products and we do not recommend it to be used with our theme because this plugin is very complex and it seems that it does not work well with the theme, sorry! We have recommended in the past this plugin for version four of Newspaper but then just with the default settings. Our theme has been developed in a constant way and at the moment, we do not recommend the W3 Total Cache because can damage the theme and we cannot provide support for untested plugins. The only tested caching plugin is WP Super cache and it works as properly with the theme. As a mention, our mobile theme is tested only with WP Super Cache and with another caching plugin it seems that will do not bring best results.

Thanks for your understanding!

Hi

I’ve checked your site with google’s page-speed tool and noticed that the site gets penalized because of some big imaged used. Try to optimize the images following the indication from google docs: https://developers.google.com/speed/docs/insights/OptimizeImages You could also use leverage browser cache to reduce the file size send by the server to browser: https://developers.google.com/speed/docs/insights/LeverageBrowserCaching#recommendationshttps://gtmetrix.com/leverage-browser-caching.html

Thanks!

Hello killerkhan,

I have checked your website and I saw that big white space. Also, I have checked your source page and I saw that you are using a lot of untested plugins, including a youtube embed and etc. which are not tested with our theme and which might cause many problems in theme. I have noticed that this plugin adds some classes and custom CSS in the theme which damage the layout and that’s why that white space it appear. Please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches, purge CDN file if you are using the CDN system and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins. Plese keep in mind that all of these plugins which you are using on your side are not tested with our theme and we have no idea about the theme behaviour with these and also, we cannot provide support for those untested plugins, sorry!

Thanks for your understanding!

Hi,

This is the first time I’ve used your template on namesco hosting in the UK and I had some funny issues with it when I turned on WP Super Cache.

After much fiddling I found out it was because Namesco don’t support WP Super Cache!!! They are instead suggesting that I use Total Cache…so I’m in between a rock and a hard place. I either have to ditch their services which I have already paid a years subscription for OR, get the theme working in Total Cache.

My question is “Are there just specific elements of theme that don’t work well with Total Cache? If so could I look to use Total Cache on a limited basis?”

Here’s their email to me

Good Morning,

****** has asked me to take a look into the caching on the site for you.

We use a Varnish Cache on our shared hosting already, this means sites should be quicker than normal anyway.
However I can see you want to use a caching plugin from within WordPress

The reason the super cache will not work, is because its’ not compatible with the varnish cache.

We have been advised the w3-total-cache is ‘the’ plugin to use with Varnish as it is very compatible.

However I can see the theme you use is not compatible with that. I’ve had a look to see if there is any way around this;

But we’ve had an extensive look but the only workaround is to re-script the theme which is not possible for us – we are not WordPress developers or scripting experts unfortunately.

Could I just check what you are hoping to achieve with this? I may be able to advise other things that can help you.

Thank you

Please ensure that problem does not come from your caching plugin. Try to clear all your caches and test it again. If you need more assistance in this regard, please provide your website URL so I can inspect it closer and so I can identify your problem for I can provide you a more accurate response. Also, please try the theme without any untested plugins and rule out the conflicting plugins.

This is strange, I think the problem may be a setting at my webhost as changes that I’d made in style.css have come through – maybe they’re implementing some sort of cache?

Anyway, looks like the problem is at my end…

Hello Rocket1j,

Upon further investigations, I have noticed that your Block layout are different to our demo for Block 3 and that’s why the block it do not display as properly. I suspect that you have some additional customizations which damage the layout. If you have something like this, please try to revert back to the default settings, without any untested plugins and see how it will work. Clear all your caches and check the results.
So, if your problem is still there, please make a new clean install from scratch with the default settings and see how it works.

Thanks for your understanding!

Hi,
Please try to clear all caches as the option works and I was able to add your site to the homepscreen but the icon was not this one: http://1christianvoice.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/1CVM-Logo-152px.png
I got a grey icon with a number 1. It could be your old icon feeded from cache or a plugin conflict but since you did not clear the cache, the disabling of the plugins did not show the imediate result.
Please try to clear all caches whether it’s a plugin , a cdn server or hosting.
I tested the bookmarklet on my end but could not find any errors. It picked up the correct icon on every device.
If you still cannot get it to work properly, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide wp-admin so we can take a look. Please also include a link to this topic.
Thank you!

Hi

I’ve checked your site and the theme seems to works fine. However I’ve noticed that you’re using V 3.0 but the css loaded comes from V 2.3.7: http://screencast.com/t/REpPde7fSiIM Try to clear all caches, purge cdn files then test again,
Also provide some specific detail about your issue if still persist as I am not sure I understand it very well.

Thanks!
