Hello,

This could be a plugin conflict so please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Please also check any custom code you might have added to the theme panel or the theme files. If you use a child theme, please switch to the main theme to make sure it does not affect the proper functionality of the theme.

Thank you!

Hello,

The this is another issue. You have a plugin that is no longer compatible in the current version. Untested plugin can become incompatible on an update even if they worked properly in a previous version.

Hi
for those who have been emailing me via Facebook about how to use WordPress — a great learning resource is free to all at WordPress.org, called the “codex” or “official docs” for learning WP.

To wit, the section on editing the wp-config.php file explains simply how to change the name/location of your theme folder, change name of your plugins/themes folder (wp-content), and put explicit paths to your website URL which helps when moving from http to https.

See:
https://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_wp-config.php#Moving_wp-content_folder

so, this allows you to – for example:

change

/wp-content/themes/Newspaper

to

/wp-content/themes/mysitename

(need to actually change folder; and name in style.css too!)

*and*

you can go step further, and do change to wp-content to be something like

/assets/themes/mysitename

Obviously you need to clear caching, and update any CDN shenanigans, if any.

Pretty simple really. Just need to “read the friendly manual” (RTFM). 🙂

Hi saucemonsters. If you have a block set to sort by most popular, it will pick out the most viewed posts from the past 7 days of traffic … regardless if the actual date of the post is within the last 7 days or is 7 years old. That’s why you can sometimes see posts in those widgets that could be months or even years old. I hope that makes sense. 🙂

I have the Trending Now (News Ticker) block in the header of my home page (https://pbn.com) and a block in the footer of my site that shows popular posts as well. Both are set to sort using Popular (Jetpack + Stats) because we use caching and a CDN.

We also see old stories popping up from time-to-time in both of these blocks. We’re trying to figure out how to limit the Popular sorting option to only display popular posts that have been published in the last 90 days. Haven’t figured that out yet, however.

Catalin, if you have any ideas how we could limit these two block to only show popular posts that have been published in the last 90 day, that would be awesome!

Hello gntvls,

1)There seems to be an issue with the access token in the current version of the social counter.
Please download this version: http://cdn.tagdiv.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/td-social-counter.zip
And very important: clear all your caching including the browser cache. Example for chrome: https://www.screencast.com/t/f9Q66lPx1fY
Now the access token should work as before.

2)If you want to use the same widgets for your sidebar on the homepage and the other pages, like post pages and category pages, you should create your own sidebar in Newspaper Default Widgets, for example, and for the homepage, you can add it to Widgetised Sidebar. This thing can be done using the Visual Composer builder plugin.

For more information about how you can use the Visual Composer, please consult here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-use-visual-composer/

Thanks for your understanding!

If you still have the issue, please contact us via email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide a link to this topic and wop-admin so we can login and investigate.

Thank you!

Unfortunately that did not help. I deactivated all plugins except visual composer. Cache or “cdn files” I don’t have installed at all. I did not add custom code and it’s not a child theme.

It’s a completely new website (just a couple weeks old). And I did install a few plugins after installing the theme (Yoast SEO, Hide my site, Shortcodes Ultimate to mention a few)..

What to do?

Hello Zelena,

It seems your images are stuck in opacity 0. This usually happens on a js error caused by plugins or customization or other external optimization tools.
Please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset CDN files if you use it. Please also check any custom code you might have added to the theme panel or the theme files. If you use a child theme, please switch to the main theme to make sure it does not affect the proper functionality of the theme.

Hello,

Right now I cannot see any issues on your site.
We do not have any such reports of duplicate menu items.

Hello gasparlanca,

1)Unfortunately, the theme does do not have any such an option for this. You should only disable all post views for the entire website. Also, if you want to hide a post viewpoint for a specific post, you should use a bit of CSS code to do that using the post ID.

Hello,

Please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files. Then delete your current social counter and install the one provided in the main theme package you can download from envato.

This is not happening before so I believe this is not a cache issue or cdn. We need to have this fixed asap.

Hello,

Pleas only use wp super cache and these settings: https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/
We have not tested the w3 total cache plugin. It could also be another conflicting plugin so it’s best to disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. If you use a child theme, please switch to the main theme to make sure it does not affect the proper functionality of the theme.

Can you please check. Already used wp super cache and still not working. Everything was working fine even without cdn. This just occurred yesterday.

Hello,

I have checked your site and saw the image issues on smaller screen devices. This happens because of the resize your image gets. Our theme does not add a re-size to the images. It probably comes from an image optimization plugin or a cdn server. Please try to disable any image related tools and test again after also clearing the cache.
If all else fails, you can adjust the post style with css like so:

@media (max-width: 767px)
.td-post-template-4 .td-post-featured-image {
min-height: 133px;
}

Thank you!

Hello,

Please only use wp super cache and these settings: https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/ and for cdn: https://forum.tagdiv.com/cloudflare-cdn/
Also please contact your host and have them disable any hosting side cache.

Thank you!
