Hello,

The issue is the plugin is not tested with our theme and could provide mixed results. You mention the alt tags are missing. Please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. If you use a child theme, please switch to the main theme to make sure it does not affect the proper functionality of the theme.
Then test the alt tags with our theme and see if they show up properly.

Thank you!

Hi,

It seems you have your content delivered from the cache – https://www.screencast.com/t/8eVqHlzrCD
I suggest you try to disable all your plugins except Visual composer, clear your caching, purge cdn files and deactivate the child theme to see if the problem is still there. If it is not, then one of these is the cause for this to happen. Activate your child theme and check if the problem appears. Then activate the plugins one at a time, while checking for this issue.
For the strange characters on your website, please refer to this topic – https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/strange-chinese-symbols-replaced-icons-and-arrows/

Hi,

1. Please try as a test to disable all your plugins except Visual composer, clear any caching you have installed and purge cdn files if you have this system. Then check to see if the problem with the images is still occurring.
Also please check these parameters and make modifications if needed, according to this guide – https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/

2. The top menu background color can be changed in the theme panel, like this – https://www.screencast.com/t/hTbKricnWDB

Thanks

Hello,

I’m not sure what this means though, Do you have a multi-language installed and one language is Chinese? The solution provided above does not add any language to your site. It simply allows the site to receive fonts properly when other resources are loaded from different platforms like cdn or https or another version of your site www or non www.
It has nothing to do with your content language.

Thank you!

Hello,

This issue seems to be caching related so please make sure you clear all cache including caching transients (https://codex.wordpress.org/Transients_API)
Please make sure you use only php version 7.0 as our theme is not yet compatible with php 7.1
Also please contact your host and have them remove any hosting side cache.
If the issue is not fixed, please try to please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Please also check any custom code you might have added to the theme panel or the theme files. Hello,

This means you probably have an image optimization tool that interferes with the theme thumbnails that does not allow newly generated thumbs to be created properly. Please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Also please check any external optimization tool you might use on your site. Then try to add a new post with new images and inspect the cropping.

Thank you!

If this does not fix it, please try to reinstall the theme via FTP using this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/

Hello freaktuning,

Usually, this kind of error appears when using CDN or loading fonts from a different source. Please try to use this solution and take a look at this: http://screencast.com/t/AMjW530CSH6 and this: http://screencast.com/t/dLjEUGGwQUZ
The solution to this issue is simple. You will need to add some code to your .htaccess file like this post suggests: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/strange-chinese-symbols-replaced-icons-and-arrows/

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Thank you for the message!

Hello,

I just tested this on my end. I downloaded a new image of 800×600 and checked the thumb sizes. There was not one that was bigger than the image itself: https://www.screencast.com/t/czCGsrBl
And this is a fresh install with no image optimization added at all. Maybe you have something that affects the images on your end that causes the issue. Please try to disable all plugins and optimization tools used, clear any custom code and clear cache and cdn (do a back-up beforehand though) then try to images again without any external influence.
Let us know how it goes.

Thank you!

Bug - reply

Hello Zakkery,

I have inspected your website and I did not saw any problems with your site. It seems to work as expected. Most likely, was a cache issue and now works fine. However, try to remove all of the caches, purge CDN files and check the results.

Thanks for your understanding!

Hello,

If you cannot see the images, it could be a plugin conflict and not a theme update issue. You probably have a js error in your browser console that breaks the lazyload animation. Try to find which one of your plugins causes the issue and remove/replace it. This is done by disabling all plugins at once, clearing the cache and resetting/purgins cdn files if you use it. Then re-activate the plugins one by one testing your site after each one to see which one causes the images to break
Or it could not be a plugin at all and it could be a custom modification you made or your child theme that need updating as well. The child theme is not update proof. Try to switch to the main theme to test it out.

I hope this helps.
Thanks.

Theme has nothing to do with “everything suddenly not working.”

You should

a) scan site with free Securi scanner online to make sure no malware
b) make sure you have latest version of WordPress – everything prior to current version is not secure
c) check to see if anything changed on your site without your knowledge – hosting issue, caching issue, CDN fail, etc.
d) you enter your activation code in the theme panel for Newspaper – it should not “suddenly” ask for it again unless your site or dbase broken
c) make sure you have backups of your site in case you need to revert to an “un broken’ version.

You might need to provide more info after you check the above items!
