Hello,
I have tested the post settings and there is no issue with them. Please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it.
Then test again.
Thank you!
Hello Ivatese,
I have inspected your website and I suspect being an HTML problem wich generates the entire issue for your posts. Please try to check the HTML for your Ad code, everywhere use the advertisement to not be in HTML syntax errors. Also, please try to use the theme only with the plugins that come bundled with the theme and disable all of them which are untested and wich can cause some unknown issues, clear all your caches, purge CDN files if you are using the CDN system and check again the results.
If your problem is still there and if you need more guidelines in this regard, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com with your log-in information (wp-admin) so we can further inspect the issue. Also, please provide the link of this topic so we can easily identify you.
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello,
This issue is different for each case. In some cases it is caused by cdn in other cases it is caused by serving different versions of your site lie Chris suggests above.
The solution you posted above does not work for everyone. It works on most hosting servers but you will need to find a solution that works on your end. This is not a theme bug but a cdn issue or caused by multiple versions of your site. Basically anything that prevents fonts from being loaded properly. It’s a font issue that happens regardless of the theme used. We simply use icons as fonts and that is why the issue is so obvious.
The htaccess file is different for everybody so there is no one solution I can provide that will work for everyone. You have to do a little digging as there are multiple solutions online for this issue and you must find the one that works for your case in particular:
Here are abunch of different sites with different versions of the solution:
https://www.google.ro/search?sourceid=chrome-psyapi2&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8&q=cdn%20fonts%20origin&oq=cdn%20fonts%20origin&aqs=chrome..69i57.2319j0j7
I hope this helps.
Thank you!
Hello,
The first issue with the icons is a font issue. Fonts get loaded from different sources and the icons break. A cdn server is the primary cause to it so you have to do a little digging to find a solution that works for your hosting as the allow origin solution does not work for everybody:
https://www.google.ro/search?sourceid=chrome-psyapi2&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8&q=cdn%20allow%20origin&oq=cdn%20allow%20origin&aqs=chrome..69i57j0.3719j0j7
This issue happens regardles of the theme you use so it;s not a theme bug but a general cdn issue. CDN servers should really warn people about such issues.
As for your other issues regarding the mobile version of the theme: https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
The mobile theme is an optional plugin. If you do not want to use it, the desktop theme is already responsive and displays properly on all devices.
The footer editor picks can be populated by using the ‘featured’ category. You can mark posts as featured and they will show in the editor picks element. This is part of the footer predefined content. You can read more about it here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/footer-templates/
Thank you!
Hello,
Please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files. Then test your panel again
Let us know if you still have trouble with this.
Thanks.
Hi
You don’t need a plugin to purge the cdn. If you use such a service that option will be available in your account, please check this link for more details: https://forum.tagdiv.com/cloudflare-cdn/
As for cache memory you can empty it them then deactivate the plugin used for cache.
Thanks!
Hi
I tryied Disabling and activating the CDN plugin, it showed up for a few minutes then it brought back the chinese wording. I also added the the code below but it still the same
<IfModule mod_headers.c>
<FilesMatch “\.(ttf|ttc|otf|eot|woff|woff2|font.css|css|js)$”>
Header set Access-Control-Allow-Origin “*”
</FilesMatch>
</IfModule>
How do I then clear all caches and purge the cdn after the update?
Disabling the CDN plugin and activating it again solved the issue…thanks
Hello,
The icons in our theme are font icons so maybe there is something wrong with the font. Maybe you changed it with css and it affects the icons as well. (icons need the newspaper font to display properly)
Another possible issue is a cdn server which will cause the fonts to be loaded from a different source. In this case you can follow this topic: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/strange-chinese-symbols-replaced-icons-and-arrows/
I hope this helps
Thank you!
Hi
Before making any changes in your site make sure you do a full backup to your current wp-install and the database also: https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups
Make sure you do a clean install, please check our documentation for more details in this regard: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ and also update Visual Composer at V 4.12 which is included in theme’s patch: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/ During the update process deactivate all plugins, just to make sure that there is no conflict.
After the update is complete clear all caches, purge the cdn if you’re using then test the site and check how it works.
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks
Hello tvib6,
Please try to clear all your caches, purge CDN files and try it again. Also, if you are using some untested plugins, try to disable all of them and install only the plugins that come bundled with the theme and rule out any conflicting plugins.
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thanks for your message!
Hello,
For a caching plugin please use this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/ as for the minify, we only recommend cludflare: https://forum.tagdiv.com/cloudflare-cdn/
Thank you!
Hello,
You can try to minify the css with cludflare: https://forum.tagdiv.com/cloudflare-cdn/ and also use gtmetrix to test your site not just the google testing tool as google can sometimes be wrong.
Thank you!
HI
I’ve checked your site and the theme display feature image for video posts: http://screencast.com/t/cVVHRhmib2 If you still have this issue try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, deactivate the child theme clear all caches, purge the cdn if you’re using then test the site again.
Thanks!
Hello mayuxi,
First of all, please ensure that our new version of the theme (Newspaper 7.3) is fully tested and still brings the most results. So, please try to make a full backup being safe. Then, try to download the latest version of the theme from Envato Market, clear all your old version of the theme and install the new one using the FTP because this is the surest method in this case -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/. Also, please install only the plugins that come bundled with the theme (Visual Composer 4.12, Social Counter 4.1), clear all your caches, purge CDN file if you are using the CDN system and check the results. If you are using the Child Theme, you will have to use the latest version of it and also, you can try to rule the theme only using the main theme, without child theme and see hoe it will work. You can make a new clean install from scratch and install the theme according to our documentation and you will see that the theme will work as properly.
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi
Usually this issue is caused by cache or cdn. Please make sure that you update the theme according with our documentation: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ also try to deactivate all plugins except Visual; Composer, clear all caches, purge cdn files if you’re using then test the site again.
Note that we didn’t W3 Total Cache with the theme and we can’t guarantee that it will work fine. As a cache plugin we recommend WP Super Cache with this configuration: https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/
Hope this helps!
Thanks!
Hi,
Please disable all your plugins except Visual Composer, clear all your caches and purge your files if you use CDN. I suspect that a plugin conflicts with the theme javascript.
Let us know how it goes and if the issue persist please provide also a link where you have this issue.
Thanks!
Hello jenrique87,
Please ensure that you have right installed the theme via FTP because this is the surest method in this regard. First of all, please remove the old version of the theme and then install it according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/ If you are using some untested plugins, try to disable all of them, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches, purge CDN files and install only the plugins that come bundled with the theme and rule out any conflicting plugins.
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thanks.
Hi,
I have tested the code provided above and seems to work as properly as you can see here -> http://screencast.com/t/KFduMM3Jovaf
The code is ->
.td_block_social_counter .block-title > span{
background-color:green!important;
}
Clear all your caches, purge CDN files if you are using the CDN system and test it again.
Thanks.
HI
It may be an issue cause by cache. Try to clear all caches, also purge cdn files if you’re using then test the site again.
Hope this helps!
Thanks!
Hello Walteroma,
This is not a normal behaviour for our theme. It sounds very odd. Please ensure that you are using the latest version of the theme with the latest version of required plugins (VC 4.12, Social Counter 4.1) in order to achieve best results in our theme. Also, if you are using untested plugins, please try to disable all of them, clear all your caches, purge CDN files if you are using the CDN system and install only the plugins that come bundled with the theme and rule out the conflicting plugins.
If you need more assistance in this regard after you have followed all of these steps, please provide your website URL so I can inspect it closer.
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello,
The author box link should link to the author page, not the homepage. You seem to have a redirect in place so please either check for any redirect rules you might have set or try to disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it.
Thank you!
Hello yonwell,
I have tried to share your page to my Facebook and the featured image for this page will be displayed, as you can see here -> http://screencast.com/t/wGwp7C6y Please try to clear all your caches, purge all CDN files and test it again.
Thanks for the message!
Hello,
This probably means you have an incompatible plugin that is periodically causing the issue. Please deactivate all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Then test the featured image again. Also pleas make sure you only use tested plugins as much as possible.
Here is a list of tested plugins: http://screencast.com/t/9yDHBXAOPTBt
Thank you!
