Make sure that you do not have a plugin conflict, please deactivate ALL plugins except tagDiv ones, also if you are using child theme or cache plugin, deactivate them, clear all cache and try again.

I am using a child theme, so is the update process different? Can I just upload files from folder patch_9.8_10 via ftp or I must delete the whole Newspaper folder and upload all the files again?
