Hello,
You may still have caching enabled from the server side. A cache is a must have on any server otherwise you will overload the server with requests. In most cases the hosting company offers a server-side cache just for such cases where a cache plugin is not used, in order to keep server requests to a minimum.
You can use css in the theme panel in the custom css box. You do not need a child theme to add a few css rules.
Thank you!
Please try not to use any symbols or language specific characters as wordpress will strip the sidebars of any content if any symbols are detected.
Also, it could be a plugin conflict so please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Please also check any custom code you might have added to the theme panel or the theme files. If you use a child theme, please switch to the main theme to make sure it does not affect the proper functionality of the theme.
Let us know if you still have trouble with the sidebars.
Thanks.
Hi,
This could be happening because of overlapping css styles, if you are using a child theme please disable it and see what happens. If that does not work try disabling all the plugins except Visual composer and also check any custom code you might have entered in Theme panel->Custom Css.
Thanks
Hello,
1. We are not aware of any compatibility issues between the visual composer plugin and our theme. The js errors originate from an external source. That is why I suggested disabling plugins as they are the number one reason for js errors. This is not always the case though as js optimization and minification can also affect the theme js. A custom code as well or the child theme also if it’s not been updated properly. We assure you that visual composer is fully compatible with our theme as we are the ones providing it. It goes through rigorous tests before release. If you still cannot identify the source of the issue Please contact us on our email address at contact@tagdiv.com and provide a link to your site and wp-admin (login information and admin rights) so we can login and investigate. Please also include a link to this conversation.
2. As for the page speed I recommend using this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/
3. Please make sure you turn on the author and date for posts. Google structure data requires an author and date to be present on each post. That is why you see the errors.
4. If the mobile theme is not working well for you, you can simply disable it and use the standard responsive version of the theme.
Thank you!
Hello,
It seems there is a css issue on firefox as it interprets the css differently.
Please use this code in the theme panel->custom css box
.td-md-is-firefox .page-template-default .wpb_text_column :last-child{
margin-bottom:initial!important;
}
Thank you!

Hi Guys, having made some additions to the child theme CSS my default browser (chrome) is failing to load the changes unless I clear history and force reload that way, is there anyway to make sure child theme css is refreshed each time someone visits? I’m not currently using any caching plugins either…
Matt
Hello, is there a way to overwrite this in the child theme? Or do I have to modify the parent theme to get this to work? I tried it and it didn’t work.
Hi, recently after upgrade my PHP to 7.0.15 when i want to login to my wordpress dashboard it gives me this error.
Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function mysql_escape_string() in /srv/users/serverpilot/apps/app-name/public/wp-content/themes/Newspaper-child/functions.php:60 Stack trace: #0 /srv/users/serverpilot/apps/app-name/public/wp-settings.php(423): include() #1 /srv/users/serverpilot/apps/app-name/public/wp-config.php(54): require_once(‘/srv/users/serv…’) #2 /srv/users/serverpilot/apps/app-name/public/wp-load.php(37): require_once(‘/srv/users/serv…’) #3 /srv/users/serverpilot/apps/app-name/public/wp-admin/admin.php(31): require_once(‘/srv/users/serv…’) #4 /srv/users/serverpilot/apps/app-name/public/wp-admin/index.php(10): require_once(‘/srv/users/serv…’) #5 {main} thrown in /srv/users/serverpilot/apps/app-name/public/wp-content/themes/Newspaper-child/functions.php on line 60
anyone had this issues ?
Hi – I already did all that, as I have seen others in the forum with this issue.
Using zero plugins, standard theme out of the box, no modifications, no custom code, no child theme…
Just a stock install.
I have also turned off lazy load,
and still having problems with images not being pulled
into front page, and category page displays.
Please help… would a login to look help you?
Thanks
Hello,
There could be an issue affecting your settings that prevents you from changing the theme panel settings.
please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Please also check any custom code you might have added to the theme panel or the theme files. If you use a child theme, please switch to the main theme to make sure it does not affect the proper functionality of the theme.
If this is not the case, then please try to increase your system status parameters like so: https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
Thank you!

Hello Jim Kalligas,
1)Please notice our Ads of the theme has been designed to work after rules imposed by the Google Adsense. So, if you want to display your Ads, you should not use the Adblock. I do not know what type of custom ad sports you mean because the Adblock will be ON, this will block all the Ads will have the word ‘AD’ in their structure.
2)Unfortunately, this type of plugin is not tested with our theme and we have no idea abut the theme behavior with it, sorry! Also, we cannot provide support for untested plugins. For more information about child theme support, please consult our guide here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-child-theme-support-tutorial/
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello ecase,
There is no issue with the lazyload animation. It is just the first to break on a js error. These are usually caused by plugin conflicts. Please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Please also check any custom code you might have added to the theme panel or the theme files. If you use a child theme, please switch to the main theme to make sure it does not affect the proper functionality of the theme.

Hi,
I have tried to replicate the problem you have on my end using a sticky menu – https://www.screencast.com/t/FyfG1TbF but it is not happening, it’s working properly. That could mean that a plugin interfering with the theme js could be causing this, also i can see that there is an error in your site – https://www.screencast.com/t/M8JymwxDfBFW. Try to disable all plugins except Visual Composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Please also check any custom code you might have added to the theme panel or the theme files. If you use a child theme, please switch to the main theme to make sure it does not affect the proper functionality of the theme.
Thanks
It;s because more and more people use untested plugins or js minification.
Please check your browser console and if you see something similar: https://www.screencast.com/t/lbFtvXd7 then you know you have a js error. This is most commonly caused by plugins.

Hi,
I can see that you have some problems with the site at the moment I am inspecting it so I can’t give you a solution for the menu – https://www.screencast.com/t/qKC3ELPW7D try to disable all plugins except Visual Composer as some plugins are often the reason of this happening, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Hi and thanks for the awesome theme!
1) When I use the pre made ad spots the ads don’t disappear with the adblock on. On the other hand with the custom ad spots the ads disappear. Why is that? Is it possible to make the pre made ad spots to disappear too?
2) I added the plugin stachethemes_event_calendar and to make is work with speed booster I added it in the allowed list as you told me at the themeforest comments. That made my child theme stop working. Why is this? Could I fix this?
Unfortunately plugins prevent me from inspecting the site. You could have a conflicting plugin that causes some issues. I can’t tell as I cannot use the browser inspector on your site.

If the problem is still present it would be most useful if you can give a link to your site to inspect the problem first hand.
Thanks

Hello there,
I’d like to show some categories above my posts (I could hide the ones I’d like to show bottom from the theme panel) and some of them below my posts.
Categories that I’ll show on the bottom shouldn’t be on the above. On the bottom I’d like like show child elements from that category.
How can I do that?
Thanks,
No im not using a child theme. We have custom css added on a few pages for the button and etc.

Hi,
If you are referring to the border between the menu items, enter this code (it works for header style 11) in Theme panel->Custom Css
.td-header-style-11 .sf-menu > li > a {
border-right: 1px solid #003375;
}
.td-header-style-11 .sf-menu > li:first-child {
border-left: 1px solid #003375;
}
