In my all posts I don’t need to use visual composer, but its same time I use it for only home page custom settings, and I think this is the heavy plugin, which we only use for a homepage, does it make sense ?
I think it slows the site speeds, that’s why I wanna remove the plugin
and can you show me a demo or screenshot of the homepage without the visual composer? so that I can test on it by removing VC.
Thanks 🙂
Modules and blocks only work with visual composer. No visual composer means no modules and blocks. On pages you will not be able to use theme. You can use modules on category templates but that;s about it. If you want to build a custom homepage with block elements, you will need visual composer. If you select a blog style homepage, you can change the module used by the theme to display the articles but you cannot customize anything beyond that.It will be just likie a category page. You can choose the article display and the sidebar, but no custom positioning or layouts without visual composer. Here is where you will find the setting: http://screencast.com/t/pF8kD3Ci
Thank you!
Hello,
We have no such reports until now. Our blocks pull information from the post itself including the publish date.
Please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Then test the dates again. Let us know if you still have issues with dates and if you do,please provide a link to your site so we can inspect it.
Thank you!

Hello gubedel,
Please pay attention because I suppose that you do not understand our mobile theme concept. For your first request, if you want to have the same Homepage Block to your mobile mode, you will not have Mobile Theme installed and the layout in mobile mode for this type of block should look like this -> http://screencast.com/t/yW1OIaZ0uT So if you want to bring those there Big Gird in Mobile mode, you should enable the Mobile Theme plugin and you should have minimum 3 posts in Featured category, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/pvS8FE2Vh If the mobile theme is active, the mobile editor can be found at the very bottom of the editor file in Visual Composer, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/dYXHEhLqmU
Also, you should reading again our documentation in this regard, because there was very good explained this concept.
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello,
If your homepage is a blog list set like so in the wp settings: http://screencast.com/t/MqTmYurq then you can control the number of posts to display from the same screen. If you have a custom page set created in visual composer, then you need to use the block settings and set the number of posts you want displayed in each block: https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-guide/
Thank you!
Here are 2 guides that should help you in updating the theme and visual composer:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
Thank you!
Hello,
Please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cnd files if you use it. The try to re-save the permalinks. Please also test this on a WP default theme as our theme does not control the permalinks, but rather wordpress.
Let us know how it goes.
Thank you!
Hello,
Please use this guide to set your homepage: https://forum.tagdiv.com/homepage-how-to-build-and-set-it/
You can experiment in visual composer to create your very own layout on pages.
Thank you!
Hello,
We have no such reports of crashes happening when VC is not installed. The only safe method of updating Visual composer is this one: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/ The process should not take more than a couple of minutes.
Thank you!
Hello PAltish,
If you are using the Mobile Theme for your mobile mode, please notice that this concept is a bit of different by the Default General Responsive Mobile mode. The mobile theme does not recognize the Visual Composer shortcodes, and that’s why mobile theme does not load the Trending Now and Big Grig 8. This is the theme behaviour with this kind of the plugin and if you want to change the structure of this you should try to develop the plugin and implement as you like in it. For more information about this plugin, please check the documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
Thanks for your understanding!
can i set the home page without the Visual Composer ? coz ii dont want to use the Visual Composer ?
So I recently updated our theme from version 4 to the latest version and the homepage and category pages aren’t loading correctly. They seem to have no CSS being applied and aren’t following the formats setup with visual composer. While the posts themselves are loading fine.
The thing is the homepage & category pages load correctly when I’m logged into the admin account. However when I’m not logged in it doesn’t load correctly.
This is how it loads when I’m logged in: http://i.imgur.com/37a1wvK.jpg
This is how it loads when I’m not: http://i.imgur.com/OlfAL7J.jpg
Any ideas what could be causing this?
Thank you Nairolf. I have been updating the newspaper theme using Envato Tool kit for over a year now. I updated the theme a month or so ago and waited until this morning to update visual composer since the plugin needed to be updated. from the plugin folder I updated it using the zip file.
I am a novice and am a bit uncomfortable reinstalling the entire theme. Will all my settings remain? Will I have to start over and reconfigure everything?
I’d prefer it if someone knows how to fix my specific problem with Visual Composer.
I have tested all of my plugins and all seems to be fine.
Thanks again for your help
I followed the instructions for updating visual composer. Now my home page is not loading but the rest of the categories and individual posts are displaying fine.
I first deactivated and deleted the WPBakery visual composer then uploaded the new version from the plugins folder (zip file JS composer).
Any advice on how to fix this?
Thanks
SO if I do a google search for
“change visual composer “:before:” “:after:” border”
would that help me? Is there a name for the :before: :after: elements?
Hi Clement,
Depend on what do you mean through customizing your Block. A simple way to do this would be from your Visual Composer, Design Option from your block, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/OAx1fBOCmp From here you can change each element you want. If you want to customize your block deeper, regarding on structure, please notice that the only way to do that through the code and this task is custom work and we cannot provide this type of services at the moment, sorry!
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello JJ0000,
Your website is required to know so I will be able to inspect it closer and also, so I will be able to provide a more accurate response. First of all, if you are using some untested plugins, please try to disable all of them, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out any conflicting plugins.
Thanks for the message!
Hi
We’re sorry for any inconvenience you have encountered using our theme.
The theme is tested and feature images should be displayed without any changes in code. However checking your site I’ve found some errors in browser’s console which are related with theme’s js: http://screencast.com/t/A5oKnz8tg This errors may be caused by some plugins which conflicts with the theme or by some minifycation used for js. Try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear all caches, purge cdn files if you’re using, remove the css/js minification then test the site again.
The theme can’t control the informations picked by Facebook sharer when a post is shared. Facebook looks for og tags and picks the details from these tags. To generate the og tags you can use a plugin like SEO By Yoast which is tested and works fine with our theme. Please check these links for more details in this regard: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/getting-open-graph-for-your-articles/ – https://yoast.com/social-media-optimization-with-wordpress-seo-by-yoast/
Another important aspect is server’s response time. Facebook won’t wait to long for requested data and if the server respond to slow some data will be skipped. Checking your site with google page-speed tool I’ve noticed that the response time is higher then 6s, please check the screen: http://screencast.com/t/2qMDqyDS2 Make sure that your server meets theme’s requirements and also ensure that the parameters from system status have the values indicated here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/ – https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
It is very likely that Facebook won’t anything about a new published post. Facebook handle a huge amount of data and a new published post won’t be indexed automatically. However you can force Facebook to update new posts by running a fresh scrape with debugger tool: https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/og/object/ – http://screencast.com/t/8rKTpv28f
Hope this helps!
Thanks!
HI
You can edit the page using Visual Composer plugin and change/delete the blocks as you wish. Please refer to our documentation for more details about how to use Visual Composer and how to setup the homepage: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-use-visual-composer/ – https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-tutorial/ – https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-tutorial/
Let us know if you need further assistance on this.
Thanks!
Hi
Theme’s blocks we’re designed to work on 1/1, 1/3 and 23 columns: http://screencast.com/t/fN3T2xPSwV We didn’t tested 1/2 or 1/4 layout and there is no implementation for it, sorry.
You can filter posts by tag using wither post loop settings if you’re using page-builder+latest as page template: http://screencast.com/t/5otlX0agNtVp or from block settings for the content displayed with Visual Composer: http://screencast.com/t/FhVMFdsdoo
For more detail about page templates and block settings please refer to our documentation:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/page-templates-2/ – https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-tutorial/
You can use the embed code and change the values for width and height as you want, here is an example: http://screencast.com/t/izfEUcYf296Y – http://screencast.com/t/ERGYIvyrF
Thanks!
Hello gubedel,
I suppose that you do not understand very good how mobile theme works, right? So, please notice that this theme concept intend to display a Big Grid feature at the top of homepage which shows the posts which are included in Featured category, then will show a text which you added in Mobile Editor in Visual Composer from backend and at the very bottom of the page you will bring the Latest Articles module. So, for more information about our mobile theme, please check the documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/ If you are unhappy with this layout and if you want to have the similar structure with our demo mobile, you will simply turn off the mobile plugin and the theme will be automatically switched to the general responsive mobile mode.
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi
The settings from theme panel should not be affected by theme’s update as they are stored in database which is not touched during the update. The settings may be lost only if the db is damaged or the reset function is used: http://screencast.com/t/RnjDahif4r5
Try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear all caches, purge the cdn if you’re using then try to import the settings again.
Let us know ho it goes.
Thanks!
Hello offrezleweb,
First of all, please ensure that you are suing the latest version of the theme with the latest version of required plugins. Also, if you are using some untested plugins, please disable all of them, leave just Visual Composer to active and install only the plugins that come bundled with the theme and rule out any conflicting plugins.
If your problem is still there after this process, please provide your website URL so I can inspect it closer. If you do not want to provide here, you can send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com with your log-in information (wp-admin) so we can further inspect it closer. There, you can provide the link of this topic so we can easily identify you.
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi
This is an element from Visual Composer and the theme can’t control its functionality. You can play a bit with its options and check how it goes or check the plugins documentation for more details in this regard.
Thanks!
