Hi,
In order to have access to that demo, you need to have the latest version of newspaper (version 7). Please update your theme by following this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ and make sure you also update all your plugins that come with the theme: (visual composer and social counter)
Then you can install the demo from the theme panel demos section.
Thank you!
Hi,
i tested this and saw the error. This seems to be a js error. This is most likely a plugin conflict.
Please deactivate all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files. Then check your site again. If the problem is no longer there, you need to identify the plugin causing the issue.
Let us know how it goes.
Thank you!
Hi,
The script you mentioned is for updating from newspaper 4. you already have newspaper 6 so the script will not work for you. Unfortunately if you have customization done to the theme files, you need to re-add it in the new version as newspaper 7 is a major update and most of the files got changed. The best thing to do is keep a back-up of your modification and delete your old theme files. Install the new theme via ftp: https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/ and then apply the customization to the new theme files. You skipped quite a few updates so there can’t be any other way around it.
Please make sure you update the plugins that come with the theme as well: visual composer, the social counter, revolution slider. These are bundled with the theme and they need updating if they are to work properly in newspaper 7.
Thank you!
Hello raulpuig,
Please notice that you have fully updated your theme through FTP according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ and also, please ensure that you have updated all your required plugins to the latest version of them ->Social Counter 4.0 and Visual Composer ->4.11.2, clear all your caches and test it again. Also, please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins.
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Also, if your problem is still there after this advice, please provide your website URL so I can further inspect your problem.
Thanks for your understanding!

Hi,
The visual composer plugin cannot be activated as it;s a free version we provide bundled with the theme. The free version does not require activation but visual composer did not remove the activation message for these versions. You can ignore the message and use the plugin as it is.
Thank you!

We have set a row with 3 columns(1/2+1/4+1/4).
At the second column we want to add a Image carousel with “Carousel size” (233×300)
http://192.185.154.34/~makthes/ticket-images/newspaper_ticket_img_01_A.jpg
For screen resolution smaller than 1024 and bigger than 768px(in fact of tablets)
the carousel’s images crop from the right side gradually
we want this result:
http://192.185.154.34/~makthes/ticket-images/newspaper_ticket_img_01_B.jpg
and we have for now this problem:
http://192.185.154.34/~makthes/ticket-images/newspaper_ticket_img_01_C.jpg
Is there any way to make the carousel responsive?
Thank you.
Best Regards,
Antonis
Hi,
You need to make sure you have version 4.11.2 of visual composer. The version in 6.6.1 is not yet updated so you need to update your theme as well.
thank you!
Hi,
Please first try the theme without any other plugins so you can rule out a plugin conflict. Disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Then check the site again. If the problem is still there, something might have gone wrong when installing the theme. Please try to delete it and install it again via ftp by using this method: https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
Also if you use a child theme, please disable it and use the main theme.
Let us know how it goes.
Thank you!
Hello sejpost,
I suppose that you are using the latest version of WordPress 4.5.2 and an older version than 4.11.2 for Visual Composer, right? So, please notice that the latest version of WordPress ‘break’ the Visual Composer and this issue was fixed in 4.11.2. So, if you are using the Newspaper 6.6.1, you should try to update to the latest version of the theme (Newspaper 7.0.1) via FTP because this is the surest method for updating. Also, please notice that each version of the theme has it own version of Visual Composer which are fully compatible with it. If you do not want to make an update to the latest version of it, you will have to downgrade your WordPress and Visual Composer plugin to an older version of them. I suggest you doing a full backup to your data and then you should update your theme to the latest version, according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
Hope this helps!
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi,
Please only use the columns explained here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-use-visual-composer/ Our theme is not compatible with all columns of visual composer.
Thank you!
I am not able to scroll down in the post composer in Visual mode. This is giving me problems in composing posts. The scroller works fine in Text mode.
Even when I press the down button in the keyboard, it just doesn’t show me the contents below.
Yes, I’ve updated my theme to the latest version 7.0.
Helo all,
@ederpira, please notice that the it is not necessary to have the premium version for Visual Composer because this will not come bundled with our theme and also, the theme has not been tested with the premium version of Visual Composer.
@davider, if you’re sure that you have followed all the steps which have been explained you above and if your problem is still there regarding no your Social Counter, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com with your log-in information (wp-admin) so we can further inspect your setup page. Also, please provide the link of this topic so we can identify you.
Thanks.
Can you give me some help, please? 3 days later my facebook account shows same 0 count.
I have installed: Social Counter 4.0 , Newspaper 7.0.1, Visual Composer 4.11.2.
I tried everything. Reinstalled plugins, clear cache from WP Super Cache and also from Cloudflare. Since I updated to last version of the theme the FB counter is stuck at 0.
Thank you in advance(Mersi),
BW
Hello yachtsailingcharter,
Please ensure that you have activated this feature from your panel. For more information about this feature, please consult our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/top-bar-templates/ Also, please try without any untested plugins which could interact with our theme and can cause a lot of unknown issues. Please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins.
Thanks.
Hi
By default the theme does not have options which allows you to customize the category page using Visual Composer. This may be possible only by editing the code. Here is an example:
– let’s say that I want to display this mini-page created with VC on Fashion category page: http://screencast.com/t/wdSAoI0Q12
– I can use do_shortcode function on category.php file like here: http://screencast.com/t/dNKMq5UyT – http://screencast.com/t/xSpErHrpUh – http://screencast.com/t/saBfozlYxKth – http://pastebin.com/YRQExPZi
– the result will be like here: http://screencast.com/t/X4x7L6QHyh
This is just a basic example but you can use it to insert content from Visual Composer on category pages.
Thanks!
Hello,
I would like to ask you to help me. I have Visual Composer 4.3.5. After WordPress 4.5.2 update I don’t see editor on my page post option. I can’t do any changew on my homepage.
I can not see backend editor, when I click on Visual Composer it redirects to https://vc.wpbakery.com/?utm_campaign=VCplugin&utm_source=vc_user&utm_medium=backend_editor
Do we need to purchase.
Hi
By default you can’t use Visual Composer on category page. Each category page can be customized from theme panel > categories: http://screencast.com/t/b39J3GUDMl There is a possibility to insert elements from Visual Composer on category page by editing the code. Fore more detail please check these topics where I’ve provided similar solution: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/show-category-slider-instead-of-big-grid-od-category-pages/ – https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/custom-template-for-category/
I hope this helps.
Thanks!
How do I update the Newspaper theme?
I’ve been running Newspaper for a while.
Obviously, I have a lot of configuration and customization I don’t want to lose.
I want to update the theme to the latest (I think I am on V 6.3.2.
How can I safely update the theme without messing up my current site?
I see text in the Newspaper theme that says:
“To update from version 4 please run this update script. Note: please backup your site before updating!”
But if I click the “update script” it pops up a warning that tells me it will mess things up:
“Are you sure? Please backup your site before running the update script!
WARNING: THIS IMPORT SCRIPT WILL CHANGE YOUR SIDEBARS, WIDGETS, TEMPLATES ON PAGEs, TEMPLATES On POSTS AND SHORTCODES
WARNING: AFTER THE IMPORT SCRIPT RUNS IT CANNOT BE ROLLED BACK AND YOU CANNOT GO BACK TO VERSION 4 ONLY FROM A DATABASE BACKUP.”
Bottom line — I want to update Newspaper to the latest and greatest (including Visual Composer), but I want to keep my site intact.
JD
I need to make my category pages into mini-homepages, or ‘hubs’.
To do that, I need to customize each category page like I do the homepage. Use visual composer, place blocks in certain places and load them with articles in different subcategories from that main category, that type of thing. Each category page would be set up a bit differently, depending on the available sub-categories.
Is there a way I can do that?
Hi there,
I can not activate the Visual Composer. My Purchase code doesn’t work.
