Obviously issue with your hosting if neither work, or wp install. Did you increase default memory for wp? 40mb not enough for visual composer.

I uploaded the newspaper theme to a test site. Everything worked great including visual composer. I then uploaded the theme to my intended site and visual composer is not working. I then removed the theme and it’s elements from the test site and still visual composer would not work. I then purchased visual composer and uploded it to my main site. Still visual composer will not work. I contacted the plugin publisher WPBakery and they said there is a conflict with the “inbuilt version of Visual Composer (or the related code) present in your theme.”

I do not know where to go from here but I hope to have visual composer working ASAP.

Thank you in advance.

I just wanted to ask how the Newspaper theme deals with Featured Images.

Featured Images display as various different sizes depending on the page that they’re being viewed on and the blocks that I’ve chosen within Visual Composer.

Therefore, am I right in thinking that the theme will re-size the images depending on their location within the site? If that’s the case, should I be uploading Featured Images as large as possible to allow them to be used in as many different places as possible?

Can anyone recommend a good size for my Featured Images to be?

Thanks very much!

Hello ihora,

I have found your website through your other topics and I have checked your page source and I found some untested plugins, as you can see HERE -> http://screencast.com/t/zuQyclcc Please try my advice that I gave you above because it is very important for good results. Please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer and WP Super cache activated and install ONLY the plugins that come bundled with our theme. Your untested plugins (Facebook comments, Cookie Law Info, The Events Calendar,Jetpack) could interfere with the theme and WP super cache and might cause this kind of issue. I suppose that your problem come from this. Please trying this advice and if your problem persists after this, please let us know.

Thank you for your understanding!

Hello ihora,

Until now, we do not have bad reports about Wp super cache regarding this case. Please ensure that this issue does not come from your untested plugins which you are using to your site. Please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer and WP super cache, clear all cache and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins. It is necessary to follow this advice because if you are used untested plugins these could interfere with the theme and create some errors in the theme.

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Thanks.

Hi,
Please read the above conversation on ‘special’ characters and the system status parameters and try the solutions mentioned here.
Another thing you can try is to disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and try your sidebars again to rule out a plugin conflict.
Let us know if you still cannot get them to display properly.
Thank you!

Hi

I am creating pages using the news template amongst others. When the demo is installed i can see the big grid on the top of the page. Looking at the filter i see it is pulling from all categories. I change the filter to pull only items with one of the ‘real’ categories from my site and nothing shows. Is there something i am missing? I am only testing the site so i have not activated the licence yet. Does that have any bearings? I also deinstalled the demo and again the same behaviour. In short regardless of what category filter i use (including all categories when no demo installed) The big grid does not appear. I inspect the source and i can see the div placeholder but no javascript saying how many items have been filtered… (which is visible when in demo mode)
I have the latest newspaper theme and visual composer downloaded from your site.
Thanks
Amir

Hi

I’ve checked your site and found some js errors in browser’s console: http://screencast.com/t/vVMskwa2aeI2 Also I’ve noticed that you’re using the child theme. Make sure that the changes made in child theme don’t affect main theme functionality, also try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear all caches and test again.

Let me know how it goes.
Thanks!

Hi

I’ve checked your site and the featured images are displayed fine now: http://screencast.com/t/E0FIYlulUued However I found some js errors in browser’s console: http://screencast.com/t/dLe4SVsCa These errors could be caused by some plugins which conflict with theme’s js. Try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear all caches then test your site again.

Let me know how it goes.
Thanks!

Hello Marto,

I suppose it is a time difference on your side. Please ensure that you have correct set your timezone from your WordPress and also please make sure that you local time are the same with your real time, from this -> http://screencast.com/t/r74r1y2MATM I have checked the code from this feature and the function which compare the time uses local time. Also, please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer, clear all cache and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins.

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Hello todaybase,

If you want to change your permanent text with an image, you have to use the do_shortcode method. First of all, you have to create your image with the desired link from Visual Composer, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/H6zqscKH -> http://screencast.com/t/u3Bp3gu6aIgo and then you have to add this code, as an example in loop-single-1.php after your content, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/yzZw46rFvw

The code from y example look like this ->

<?php echo '<a href="http://todaybase.com/paul-okoye-talks-his-new-label-and-his-two-artists/" target="_blank" rel="attachment wp-att-932"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-932" src="http://localhost/ziar_6/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/p2-198x300.jpg" alt="p2" width="198" height="300" /></a>'?>;

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Thanks.

Hello,
Unfortunately there is no solution for this as those column layouts are not supported by our theme. Please read this guide to see how to properly use visual composer:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-use-visual-composer/
Thank you!

Hi,
The titles you mention are block titles. You will have to edit the page in visual composer and click the little pencil icon to edit blocks: http://screencast.com/t/bCUf5aNt28S9
Please follow this guide on visual composer:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-use-visual-composer/
Thank you!

Hi

To get the shortcode for each element from Visual Composer follow this steps:
– add on a blank page the required element http://screencast.com/t/Mp2WYR2Iu
– copy this code and paste it where you want to display the shortcode: http://screencast.com/t/KdEWJSlC
Here is an example for category page: http://screencast.com/t/O5tzxRtJGB0http://screencast.com/t/s4zuPUwcG8kN

Hi,
If you want to insert a html code in posts, you can access text mode: http://screencast.com/t/CGl4ni76ZEYW and add your code there. There are no content blocks that are designed to work on posts, but you can use visual composer on posts if you activate the option from the visual composer plugin but keep in mind that visual composer is not tested to work on posts so you could get mixed results.
Thank you!

Hello,
The mobile back-end should work properly. Please disable all your plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. There could be a plugin conflict that interferes with the mobile version.
Let us know how it goes.
Thank you!

Hello,
I can confirm that it is working. All the options were tested properly and we have found no issues with the new update. I just tested the background ad again and it works as expected. Please disable all your plugins except for visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files. You most likely have a plugin conflict that interferes with the background ad.
Let us know how it goes.
Thank you!

Hello,
Please disable all your plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn if you use it. This is most likely a plugin conflict. (I’m not sure about your second part of the message: “What I want is configured to load the background even mobile and tablet version.” Please try to explain better.)
Let us know how it goes.
Thank you!

Hi! Great theme!
I have a problem. When I configure the homepage using three columns (2/3 – 1/3) there is no problem, but I need that the main column have 60% and the sidebar 40%. Y set this configuration: (7/12 – 5/12) but the slider is broken, and the thumbnails of block 15 get disorganized.
Is there any solution?

Regards!

Hello guadaltech,

Please ensure that your website is not affected by the plugin’s interferences with the theme. Please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer, clear all cache and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins. It is necessary to do this because your untested plugins could cause some errors in the theme and could modify the functionality of this type of post template.

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

If your problem is still there after these changes, please provide your website URL so I can further inspect the issue and so I will be able to provide a more accurate response.

Thank you for the message!

Hello,
At the moment, there is no difference between the mobile version and the desktop version of our theme. There is no option to change content based on the device used. It can be done with a bit of css if you want. You will need to add an extra class to the latest articles code like so: http://screencast.com/t/736ZoMZatS
Make sure you set your sidebar to none: http://screencast.com/t/Y3UVEVcvie (you can still use a sidebar by splinting your visual composer rows in a 2/3 and 1/3 layout)
Now you can use css to target the latest articles and hide it for desktop and tablets:
@media (min-width:767px){
.mycustomclass{
display:none!important
}
}

Thank you!

Hello imrantareen26,

1)I suppose that you want to place the Social Counter for your page. For doing that you have to use Visual Composer and select the Social Counter element like this -> http://screencast.com/t/UC2bosZaD and then you can place it everywhere you want to your page. For more information about Social Counter, please consult our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-social-counter-tutorial-2/

2)If you want to use a slider with the sort by latest, you have to use Big Grid Slide from Visual Composer and you can set the ordering from its panel, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/n2AVIc4dq9l

3)Please keep in mind that you do not need the license for your Visual Composer because this plugin will become bundled with our theme and the license are included in the theme package. Please ensure that you have correctly installed this kind of plugin according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

If is not what you mean and you need more assistance in this regard, please provide more details about your desired changes or what types of features are not aware using them, so I will be able to provide a more accurate response.

Thank you for the message!
