Hi,
I’m sorry but css will not fix this as the styling is altered. Please remove all the css code from the theme panel, and restore the theme to it’s default state including custom modifications you may have in place. The menu should display properly as seen here: http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/
Your problem originates from either customization or plugins so if the problem is still there after you revert to the theme default, then please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files.
Let us know how it goes.
Thank you!
Hi,
There are no settings for this so it will have to be made custom. You will have to know a bit of html and css to get it done.
For the first design you can use this code:
.block-title span{
background-color:transparent!important;
border-bottom: 2px solid green;
}
http://screencast.com/t/YGkfI33WR8o
For the second design you can use this css:
.block-title span{
background-color:transparent!important;
}
http://screencast.com/t/wzSvjSqlYc
And you have to edit the block and set the block title to another color besides white.
Right now the codes will apply to all of the elements. You need to target the individual classes of the blocks you want the titles to apply to. You can add extra classes to the row in visual composer to help you target elements better.
Hope this helps.
Thanks.
Thanks Bogdan, but how would I put that code into the page?
I’m using Visual Composer to arrange the blocks and don’t want to mess it up.
How can I change the font size of the Separator With Text in Visual Composer?
Really loving Newspaper so far. Everything has worked as well or better than I hoped.
I have a question about aligning four blocks in a grid on a front page. I’m trying to display posts from four separate categories in a 2×2 grid next to a sidebar. It works pretty well so far, but slight variations in title length and excerpts can cause certain blocks to be “longer” than others, causing misalignment of the row below.
Here’s a screen shot to illustrate:

I would prefer to keep the 2×2 grid and sidebar in a single Visual Composer row if possible, since the sidebar’s height matches well with the grid.
I haven’t looked too closely at the CSS yet, but was hoping there might be an elegant solution. Any advice? Thanks in advance for the support.
Hello,
1) and 2) I’m not sure if these are customization you made or a plugin conflict. There seems to be a line-height issue. If you have changed any line-heights in the font section, please restore them to the default state to see if any affect these elements. If you have not changed the line-height, then please try to disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files. Then check your pagination and social icons again.
As for the social counter, this is not a live count. It will update a few times a day to keep server requests to a minimum. It was not created as a live count.
Thank you!
Hello fajrialhadi,
1)If you want to set the category for your Block used you have to use Ajax Filter option from each Block Settings, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/rFRdqK71tFqJ and the category ID you can get in this way -> http://screencast.com/t/L3WGJUsAT For more information about Block Settings, please consult our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-tutorial/
2)If you want to include the some Blocks in Sidebar you can do it from the panel, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/tiCirt6h and for your homepage, you have to use Widgetised Sidebar, the element from Visual Composer. For more information about Sidebars, please consult our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/sidebars-tutorial/ -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/smart-sidebar-2/
3),4a)Please notice that you can have control over the layout of the page from Visual Composer, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/r9v6IxfQIp For more information about how to use Visual Composer, please consult our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-use-visual-composer/ Also, please notice that you can use what kind of Block you want, for example -> http://screencast.com/t/Wg8GMUOVhU For more information about our Blocks/Modules, please consult our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/theme-thumbs/
4b) Please notice that Related Articles is a feature of the theme and you can have control over it only from Theme panel. Please ensure that you have enabled this option from Theme panel, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/nmT851KWF For more information about this feature, please check our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/related-articles/ This kind of feature take only the featured image from your posts.
5)I suppose that you referring to the sidebar on your posts. In order to achieve as you wish, please consult Sidebar documentation as you can see above. Also, please ensure that you have enabled the sidebar option for your posts, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/46gCUiSx7Z -> http://screencast.com/t/uX6i3EmdhrQh
6)In this cases, I recommend you using Upscale Thumbnail & Regenerate Thumbnail because our theme does not enlarge the image if it is smaller than the thumb, but only crop it from center to top. In order to know the image size for this feature, please check this section from Theme panel, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/qzflV661BM
7)As I can see in your screenshot, is used a plugin to achieve that (Facebook embed-untested plugins). If you want to include the widgets into your footer, please consult our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/footer-templates/
As you can see, the most your answers have the responses in our documentation. Please trying to read it competent, trying to understand all the elements and then trying to implement these on your site. Also, you can try to check our YouTube channel, here -> https://www.youtube.com/user/tagdiv because there you can see a lot of useful tutorials, which helps you to accomplish your website.
Hope this helps!
Thank you for your message!
Hello,
This can be caused by either plugins or theme customization. If you have customization done, please make a back-up and revert the theme to it’s default state. If there are no modifications to the theme files, then please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Then check your categories again.
Let us know how it goes.
Thank you!
Hello,
There seems to be some css there that gets rewritten. The trending now block element does not get the negative margin anymore so it creates a bit of space above the content. Please try to disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it.
Let us know if the problem is still there afterwards.
Thank you!
Hello jkellerer,
I have checked your website and I saw the difference between your Likes on Facebook. Also, I have noticed that you are using an older Version of Visual Composer (V.4.9.2) Please try to update it to the latest version v4.11, clear all cache and check after if your problem is still there. Also, please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all cache again and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins. It is possible which your untested plugins to interfere with our theme and Social Counter and from this to appear this errors.
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thank you for the message!
Hello,
You can ignore the visual composer update as we can only update the plugin along with our theme as we are the ones providing it, not the plugin author. You can ignore the update message. Please use the version of visual composer that comes with the theme: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
As for the menu, please remove the css as I see you changed the menu. Every custom css applies to that particular layout. If you change anything like add a menu item or a top-menu, the css will probably not work properly anymore. Please remove the css and provide a link to your website and details about your problem. Also provide a screenshot of the css you have in the custom css box as I suspect it’s the logo that has been changed and it’s affecting the sticky menu.
Thank you!
Hello marketingapex7,
Please ensure that you have right inserted the code in that field. I have checked your website and the theme display the ad container but it is empty as you can see here-> http://screencast.com/t/ifC9cxwRGhg . Please check your Adsense code to be valid because it seems that is not working as properly. Please notice that the theme only displays the code which you have inserted in the ads filed and do not affect the structure of the code. If your problem persists, I recommend you to address at Google Adsense for checking your ad code because they will be able to provide a more accurate response about the structure and functionality of the code. As you can notice, everything related to the theme is executed but if the code is broken, I cannot provide any support because I am not able in this case, sorry! Also, please try without untested plugins and see how it works. Try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer, clear all cache and rule out the conflicting plugins.
Thank you for your understanding!
Hi
1. Please provide your site url as I need to inspect this closer in order to provide a solution.
2. Try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear all caches and test again. Also if you added any custom css in theme panel > custom code make sure it won’t affect the search icon.
Thanks!
Hi
I am not sure why this happens as we didn’t had a situation like this before. Try to deactivate all plugin except Visual Composer, clear all caches and test again. Also if you made any customizations in theme’s files revert them, remove any code vrom theme panel > custom code section, if you added some, then test again.
Let us know how it goes and if you still can’t manage to solve this address us via email at contact@tagdiv.com including a link to this conversation and also give us wp-access so we can have a closer look at this and we will get back to your as soon as possible.
Thanks!
Hello kamoe,
Please ensure that you have right set it the main menu from the panel, according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/main-menu/ Also, please make sure that you have no errors in your console from your untested plugins if you are using and just in case, try to disable all your plugins, leave just Visual Composer, clear all cache and check after and see the results.
If you problem is still there after this advice and if you need more assistance in this regard, please provide your website URL so I can further inspect it closer and also so I will be able to provide a more accurate response because I can’t recreate your problem on my side.
Thank you for your understanding!
Hi,
Is your error message about visual composer not being able to install because the destination folder already exists?
If so, you need to access your files via ftp and delete the js composer file from the plugins folder and thn install visual composer again from here: http://screencast.com/t/AKwnNXEmPW
If this is not the message you get, then please provide more details about your problem so we can understand better how to help.
Thank you!
Hi,
Please check your system status parameters and set them according to this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
Also please try it without any plugins. Disable all of them except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files.
If the problem is still there, you can try to switch to a wp default theme and check again to see if it’s a WP problem.
Thank you!

Hello,
I have got some few questions.
1. How can I customize the sidebar in “CATEGORY”. Why is only the default sidebar shown?
2. How can I activate the automatic update function for theme update?
3. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iuENF-Oeg2Y&list=PL6CsDkMaejhrfEuAth6JVYLPmFwFzNFwY&index=3
This video shows taht post can be customized. But the button “format” is not shown in my backend. Also I do not know, how to change the font family.
4. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rgWqozuqmJk&list=PL6CsDkMaejhrfEuAth6JVYLPmFwFzNFwY&index=2
At 2:50. Those templates from visual composer are also not shown to me in the backend if I create a new page.
Why?
Can you help me?
Thanks a lot 🙂
I want to create a compact listing of news-related content, with no space for image.
The blocks available in visual composer only have “templates” where space is set for image and lot’s of space.
How could I create something more compact and simple?
News title 1
Content..
Content..
News title 2

Etc.
Shortcodes?

Checking the changelog for Visual Composer is good place to check on compatibility with PHP7.
As of January, there was still the issue with VC and PHP7:
A problem related to this piece of code:
PHP Notice: Array to string conversion. in that line of code:
$param_value = isset( $$param['param_name'] ) ? $$param['param_name'] : '';
that code used in a lot of files in js_composer/include/classes/shortcodes/ folder.
Hello JBH,
This latest update was more for Visual Composer and still working hard for solving this problem. Please understand that we have to do a lot of fixes and improvements and that thing lasts. Sorry for the inconvenience but we will consider in next major update.
Thank you for your understanding!
Hi
I Would like to speed up my site and go on PHP 7 from my actual PHP 5.6
I get a shared premium Hosting with OVH that workd really well.
All (non newsmag) plugins are compatible with PHP 7: AdRotate, Advanced Custom Fields Pro, Akismet, SEO Redirection, WP Rocket and Yoast SEO
Questions are:
1) Is the Newsmag theme compatible with PHP 7?
2) Are the newsmag plugins I have activated compatible with PHP 7?
– tagDiv Social Counter
– WPBakery Visual Composer
3) due to your experience there is a way to proper way to proceed to this migration?
Thanks in advance
Fabrizio
Hi,
If you add a custom menu widget in the widgets area, there are 2 places it can show up. Either the footer (footer 1, 2 and 3) or a sidebar you can add on posts, pages, or category archives.
On pages you can add the widget directly from visual composer: http://screencast.com/t/20CByd7J
Thank you!
