Hello marcogovoni,

If you want to add something like this, you should use a bit of CSS code to do that. Try the code below and place it in Theme panel->Custom CSS area.

The code is ->

.td-category-header{
background-image: url(http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/login-mod.jpg);
background-size:100% 100%;
background-repeat: no-repeat;
}

The result is here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/mYqHkK0k

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the message!

Hello kamoe,

If you want to achieve this, you should use a bit of CSS code to do that.

.td-main-content-wrap, .td-category-grid {
background-color: transparent;
}

Thanks for the message!

Hi – I’m working through the How To Make The Site Faster tutorial.

When I add the code to the functions.php file to get the list of registered css and js, do I add the code at the VERY end of the file – i.e. after all other code/tags/BRACKETS etc?

I wasn’t sure whether it needs to be added before the final ‘<?php’

Thanks

Hello,
1)
Well this code:
.category-news .author-box-wrap{
display:none!important;
}
.category-news .item-details{
margin-left:0px!important; }

only affects the news category. Other categories or subcategories will not have this class: .category-news
If you want to affect all the subcategories as well, you need to add all the category classes to the css code like so:
.category-news .author-box-wrap, .category-news2 .author-box-wrap, .category-video .author-box-wrap, .category-test .author-box-wrap{
display:none!important
}

2)Unfortunately css does not work like this. If you remove an item from one category it will not affect the subcategory or tag. The tags have their own css classwes so the code needs to be added for classes as well. You will need php modifications and conditions added to the code rather than lots of css rules but I cannot provide them as customization services are not covered by the support.

3) .category-news .td-post-comments{
display:none!important;
}
I do not know the name of your subcategories. You will have to add them to the code.

4) , 5), 6) I suggest you hire a freelancer to help out as you seem to require quite a bit of custom modifications and custom work is beyond what the theme support can provide you. We are here to help with any theme related issues or settings but we do not have a customization department and we cannot provide custom work at the moment.

7) The data shown in the meta is the published date.

8) no, the mobile theme will not use visual composer at all. The news ticker is only available through visual composer.

9)The category tag will show up on every category page indeed. I will addd this to our list for future upates and make a suggestion to remove the category tag from the current category .

Thank you!

Hello,

Since it’s a VC element, the text will not be able to change from the theme panel fonts section. If VC does not provide options to change the font size then you have to add it with css.
Use the code like so:
.vc_separator.vc_separator_align_center h4{
font-family: xxxx
}

Thank you!

Hello indro,

If you want to make these changes, please notice that you should use a bit of CSS code to do that. Try the code below and place it in Theme panel->Custom CSS area.

.td_block_big_grid_6 .td_module_mx5 .td-module-title a{
color:red!important;
}
.td_block_big_grid_6 .td-big-grid-post-0.td-big-thumb{
padding-right:1px!important;
}
.td_block_big_grid_6 .td_module_mx13{
padding-right: 1px!important;
}
.td_block_big_grid_6 .td_module_mx5{
margin-bottom:1px!important;
}

Hello,

Unfortunately in order to make the space bigger in a grid, you will need to alter the theme width and that is not an easy thing to modify in our theme. The theme width is fixed and all theme elements depend on this fixed width.
You can try to give it a shot with a bit of css but that will mean shrinking the images a bit to create the extra space. You cannot create extra space using the current image size.

Thank you!

Regarding hiding of featured image, will the given CSS also hide featured images from its sub-category or sub-sub category.
@media (max-width:767px){ .single-post .category-video .td-post-featured-image{ display:none!important }}

Hello rex97,

Unfortunately, our theme does not have any such an option and header style which allows you to have this type of header menu, sorry! If you want to do this, you should have solid coding skills and CSS knowledge to do that. Notice that is no a simple task and it involves some custom work which our theme cannot provide at this moment, sorry! If you want to display more levels in our theme and if you are not aware of the steps which are needed to take in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you!

Hi,

The code is working fine – https://www.screencast.com/t/XZNgfyGHKyo try to use !important so it will forcebly apply like this

.td-module-meta-info .td-post-author-name a {
color: black!important;
}

Also please check any previous custom codes you may have entered in custom css for syntax errors as that could prevent this from working. If you can’t manage to make it work, provide a link to your website so I can take a look.

Thanks

Hello,

q2: You can change the stars color using this css:
.td-icon-star, .td-icon-star-half{
color:orange!important
}
The summary does not have a detect for a single review criteria. I will add this to our list for future updates.

q4: You added an incorrect channel to the youtube widget: https://www.screencast.com/t/d7bijfHV After you add the correct channel, click the widget. It should take you to your youtube channel.

q5: Please check the theme colors section in the theme panel. If you use the mobile theme plugin you will find it in the mobile theme section of the theme panel under colors.

q6. It is possible with a bit of css. For example:
@media (max-width:767px){
.single-post .category-video .td-post-featured-image{
display:none!important
}}

This code will remove the mobile featured imege from all posts in the “video category”

q8: The mobile theme will not render visual composer shortcodes. It does not matter if it’s a post or page. They will not work.

q9: I;m not sure what space you are referring to. please provide more details.

Thank you!

Hi,

Try this code, enter it in Theme panel->Advanced Css in the phones section for the responsive default mobile theme version – https://www.screencast.com/t/aQdisglm or in Theme panel mobile theme css if you are using the mobile theme plugin

.footer-text-wrap .block-title span {
display: none;
}
.footer-social-wrap .block-title span {
display: none;
}

Or you could change/delete their translations in Theme panel->Translations – https://www.screencast.com/t/rnAPli3dOY
Please let me know if this works for you, if not post a link to your website for a more accurate answear.

Thanks

I would like to hide image from related post box for certain specific category alongwith its child categories. Similarly, would like to remove author box and ‘more from author’ box from certain categories alongwith its child categories.
For doing that I added following code in css:

.td_block_related_posts .td-module-thumb {
display: none;
}
.td-related-right, .td-author-description{
display:none!important;
}

but problem is that it hide both thing from all posts. Further, it does not hide image and name of author from More article box of specific category and its child categories / posts from specific author.

Hi,
i want to integrate horizontal lines to our page (http://www.nateuerlich-schoener.de) by using visual composer. By widget I can define the design of the line, but not of the text. So i define a class name and want to change font, style and size by custom CSS. Custom CSS works fine for the font-size but I’m not able to change font or style (bloder).

Please teach me, who I can change font (for example google fonts) and style or where I can find that in the theme panel.

see picture below:horizontal line

Thanks

A category (including its sub-categories) do not have featured image as it is mere compilation of various circular and notification issued by Government authorities. So I have made following arrangement for showing it without image placeholder:

1. Selected post style 5 for single view
2. For search results and archive, I made following change in css:
.category-news .author-box-wrap{
display:none!important;
}
.category-news .item-details{
margin-left:0px!important;
}
.category-news .td-post-author-name {
display: none;
}
.td_module_16{
padding-bottom: 10px;
}
.td_module_16 .item-details{
min-height: 0px!important;
}
.search .item-details{
margin-left:10px!important;
}
.search .td-module-thumb{
display:none;!important;
}
.td-excerpt{text-align:justify!important;}

Now my problems are:

1. The Category page of sub categories are not considering aforesaid css rules (for removing image placeholder place, shifting content to left, etc). Does I need to provide same css rule for each sub-category, if yes then how. Or there is any other way to achieve it.

2. Similarly, tags are also not following aforesaid css rules. It is to be noted that tag terms may be common for this category and other category which have featured image.

3. How to remove comment count symbol for this category and its sub-categories

4. In search box in the navigation bar, image placeholder is removed but I am unable to reduce height of each search result. See https://www.dropbox.com/s/nx9xvqlvdwc4v26/category%20result.png?dl=0

5. The category below the result shows one category only instead of showing all categories selected for that post.

6. Is it possible to restrict search result from post and page and not from custom post type. E.g. I have custom post type called FAQ, in that I have created various FAQ (one FAQ is one post for it) on different subjects (considered that as database). That FAQ is shown on front end through shortcode in regular post according to subject of post. I want to search result should not show custom post type of FAQ but show regular post in which it is shown through shortcode.

7. The date shown in the meta data, is it published date or last modified date.

8. Is it possible to add news ticker in the mobile theme.

9. Further, category page repeats that category meta data for each post, I am unable to understand the role of such repeat display of category terms. See https://www.dropbox.com/s/6zwq6hhu2p9r00w/category%20repeat.png?dl=0

Hi,

I am writing this topic to ask how I can erase “About us” and “Follow us” on the mobile site.

Surely, there should be the php file which I can manage on, but do not want to “touch” it in any case.

The best and easiest way to erase is to use css with “display: none;” but I am not sure which css file should be modified. I guess it should be around “.td-footer-social” and “.td-footer-description”.

Please let me know if any way to erase it.

Thank you for your support!

All best
