Hi

First you have to add a custom css class for the separator in VC: http://screencast.com/t/9p70BmXYqyB then use this css: http://screencast.com/t/vjfh8GHHmRSm

.grid-title.vc_separator h4{
color: red;
background-color: green;
padding: 5px 10px 5px 10px;
border-radius: 4px;
}
.vc_separator.vc_sep_color_grey .vc_sep_line{
border-width:0;
}

Thanks!

Hello

If you want to change the size for that images, you will have to use a bit of CSS code to do that. Please try the code below and place it in Theme panel->Custom CSS area.

The code is ->
.woocommerce div.product div.images img {
display: block;
width: 50%;
}

The result -> http://screencast.com/t/YBF7s9G3Omb9

Hi,
If the white background of the mobile theme is what you are after, then you can use this css to do it:
.td-main-content-wrap, .td-category-grid{
background-color:grey!important;
}

Thanks.

Hoping I can get some help troubleshooting and fixing this issue. I installed Newspaper version 7.1.1 and shortly after I noticed the WordPress dashboard was no longer loading correctly. It basically isn’t loading JS and CSS properly any more.

Screenshot: https://gyazo.com/7e11f1966ce4272e8dadf4b7b6d6658b

This only happens if I have Newspaper active. If I switch the theme to 2015, the dashboard displays correctly.

I have tried clearing my cache, rolling back to earlier versions of the theme, disabling ALL plugins, and disabling PageSpeed. None of these fixed the issue.

However, if I add define('SCRIPT_DEBUG', true); to my wp-config, the dashboard will display correctly.

Any ideas on what is wrong and how I can fix this issue?

Hi,

If you use the mobile theme then the code will not work. Please use this one instead:

.td-a-rec-id-header_mob{
margin-top:0!important;
}
@media(max-width:767px){
.td-a-rec{
margin: 0 auto 0; !importamt;
}}

Add the code in the standard custom css box, not the advanced one.

Thanks.

Hello thies,

Please notice that this website is very well customized by it’s owner and requires to spend a bit of time until you will bring this layout. Also, please notice that this website has the similar layout with our travel demo layout and if you want to bring this, please try to follow the below tutorial in this regard ->

This is the simplest solution of recreating the travel demo homepage on another demo. This cannot be done without the custom classes used by the travel demo.
Please follow these simple steps to recreate the travel demo homepage with another (or no) demo installed:

1)This is the ‘shortcode’ of the page layout. You can simply paste it inside to your page editor in classic mode and text mode: http://screencast.com/t/SUt9ItUc the code: http://pastebin.com/RAA6DkWp

2)The background image will not be found so you will need to add your own image in the row setting: http://screencast.com/t/yB2Bh0rbo

3)Please add this class: td-travel to the body of the website like so: http://screencast.com/t/fOt9sfquQtVy

This will be the result: http://screencast.com/t/vlZG4G8m1Xpy

4)In the final step, you will have to copy/paste the custom CSS for this demo travel from the core file, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/oQurpGTnM

Hope this helps!

Thanks for your understanding!

Hi,

Unfortunately css cannot make the image stretch over the content padding. If you want to remove the padding on the featured image, you will need to replicate the implementation from this style: http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/td-post-if-you-only-knew-how-much-your-relative-churn-rate-matters/ This one has a separate container for the image apart from the default style which uses the same container. You are better off picking another post style as there are 14 to chose from. if you still require this customization, you can hire a freelancer to help out from sites like studio.envato.com

Thank you!

Hi,
Google does not recommend deleting anything. It only states to eliminate render-blocking javascript and css. That means moving the js and css rendering to the footer after the rest of the site is loaded. This can be done with the tagdiv speedbooster plugin that comes with the theme. Please read this topic to improve page speed: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/
Please also follow this topic for more information on speedbooster and to learn about it;s compatibility: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/tinymce-advanced-and-other-various-disabling-speed-boster/
Thank you!

Hi,
The overlapping bubles are supposed to be that way as you can see on our demo: http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/ios-slider/ It;s your post name that does not have any spacing after it. You maybe have a css that afects it and makes it display that way. You can eithr find the css that causes it, or you can use this code for a quick fix:
.td_block_slide .td-post-author-name{
padding-right:5px!important;
}

Thanks.

Hello mate, I tried adding that code but didn’t seem to work? That just go in the custom CSS for mobile plugin?

Bogdan B.

Hi,

1) You can hide the post title with a css code like so:
.single .entry-title{
display:none!important;
}

2) The block size is fixed and is set here: http://screencast.com/t/68xOeiT3hvQf
If you wan to change this thumbnail, you can either chose another one from this list: http://screencast.com/t/691iCWyqiXBH and change it in the module or use the theme api and create your very own thumbnail like so: https://forum.tagdiv.com/td_api_thumbadd/.
Make sure you regenerate thumbnails after any change made to them

3) Please provide more details so I can better understand how to help.

Thanks.

Thanks for letting me know.

Can this task be completed via Custom CSS? If so, I will task a developer to do this. I only need this done on Mobile.

Hi,

The current month of May seems to be one of extremely frequent updates to the Newspaper theme. Envato has sent us update notifications on May 9th, 12th, 20th and now 24th. I am the last one to be complaining about a well maintained product, but integration of the updates in our deployment is in fact time consuming, so some indication about how a specific update should be prioritized would be highly appreciated.

I know that there are concerns about disclosing security related information in public forums. This however means that people will be more likely to miss the urgency of an update and thus be affected from security issues that can always creep up in a complex software project. It will also mean that after three updates in just two weeks, they are becoming tired of diff’ing and analyzing the changes themselves and simply skip the update.

If in fact anybody should be affected by a security issue, missing information on when the issue was discovered and when it was fixed are making forensic analysis quite difficult. Near enough any serious software project I know of provides a detailed change log and release notes for updates and patches.

Wordpress has already been mentioned, Typo3 even chooses security pre-announcements to get people to prepare for a patch release, the same applies to OTRS, Drupal security advisories etc. to name but a few.

Ok, Newspaper is just a theme, not a full fledged CMS. It is software nevertheless, bundling a few external components, and thus falls under the same security considerations as the main CMS.

Not releasing security related information protects no one. Lazy or incompetent customers won’t patch their systems either way, malicious attackers will probably invest the time for analysis of the diffs anyway. I wouldn’t expect details about a security issue, but describing the type of vulnerability (RCE, SQL-Injection, CSS/CSRF, …) and exploitability (anonymous access/registered users only) or some other form of severity assessment would be helpful to those that need to maintain a Newspaper deployment. As would be a patch note that told us that there was no security fix in an update, just bug fixes, so we can decide to roll out the update at the most convenient time.

Kind regards

Markus

Hi,
You can remove the css as the counter works fine: http://screencast.com/t/TgdWl1Xrx6X
The problem with the counter is the cache. it is affected by it and until all caches get cleared, the counter will not be able to pull the required information.

Hello alpsbox,

Please notice that you will have to alter the code from the modules which are used in your Blocks on the homepage. For example, if you are using the Block 3, please notice that this is using the module 1 and you will have to alter the code in td_module_1.php, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/ZQJTCB1zS For more information about blocks and modules used in the theme, please check here -> http://screencast.com/t/t872TIWrCtR
If you want to change the color for your post title on the homepage, please try the code below and place it in Theme panel->Custom CSS area.
The code is ->
.home h3 > a {
color:blue;
}

The result -> http://screencast.com/t/1GXUrd4M
For your second request, please try the code below.
The code is ->
header .td-post-views{
float:left;
}
header .td-post-comments {
float: left;
margin-right:20px!important
}

The result -> http://screencast.com/t/MCNlaCxnoH7

Thanks.

Hi

That change involve changing block’s style and unfortunately I can’t provide a solution for it. You can try to edit the file corresponding with block used. Here it’s an example for block 1: http://screencast.com/t/X4ejxXc3qba1 Also you will need this css in theme panel > custom code > custom css: http://screencast.com/t/vqftoql6

.td_block_wrap .td-next-prev-wrap{
float: right;
margin-right: 15px
}

Thanks!

Hi,

If you want to reduce the space for mobile, you can use this css:
@media(max-width:767px){
.td_block_big_grid_1, .td_block_big_grid_2, .td_block_big_grid_3, .td_block_big_grid_4, .td_block_big_grid_5, .td_block_big_grid_6, .td_block_big_grid_7, .td_block_big_grid_8, .td_block_big_grid_9, .td_block_big_grid_10, .td_block_big_grid_11, .td_block_big_grid_12{
padding-bottom: 10px!important;
}}

As for the the second request, our theme doe snot have any options on the front-end for user profiles. You can try out a plugin like buddypress

Really??? That’s your answer to resolve my problem?
I installed from scratch already one time, and lost evrything i made from the beginning.
I can not do this everytime.
I don’t touch the code, because I don’t know very much, but it seems there are a class name “vc.composer” “xs” something” 100% in css plugin that broke everything. While i never touched these css there. Because i’m not a expert.
The problem come since i install the version 7, i think it come from there or the plugin, but there have a problem.

Hello,
It seems the css of the ad itself is forcing the ad to go left. Please use this method to implement custom ads: https://forum.tagdiv.com/using-other-ads-non-adsense-ads/

I know this is a topic that gets brought up quite a bit, as I have gone through dozens of questions in on this site.

I have tried speed booster, but unfortunately there are a few plugins that I require (that won’t work with speedboost), and even though you have some options to bypass those plugins (at my risk), which I did, none of those plugins worked after; in fact speed boost didn’t work at that point.

Long story short. is there any other option besides Speedboost to eliminate render-blocking JavaScript and CSS in above-the-fold content?

here is a pic from pagespeed: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1sPzMby0YKjOU9YRzM1NVNqem8/view?usp=sharing

Thank you,

Zane
